Quote from dawesdust_12 :I never get a solid FPS, it ranges from 100 to like 50 constnatly, but it's always smooth for me.

Woz: You buy the Aussie version? If so, how is it with all the censorship?

I am in NZ so can get the full version

I have played the censored version though because if a person with censored joins a server EVERYONE experienced censored. Only had that once to date so far.

Censored is like LFD1 gore level but no body piile up, not much blood and not visible damage on the infected its lame as.

Should already be possible with NVidia drivers from what I understand. 1/2s your framerate but the drivers do the required offset and then you need the lcd shutter glasses to go with it

Quote from Scawen :If you have Windows 7 64 bit please just click Windows 7.

I included XP x64 because I am told that wasn't really XP, but this is not the case with 64 bit Vista and 7.

Yep, XP64 was a sort of publicity stunt forced to release OS to support the first AMD64. Forced because they didn't want Linux to be the only OS with 64bit support.

It was never really used in the wild and so was a second class, poorly supported OS from both MS and hardware vendors.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Same thing happened to me yesterday.

I actually deleted the L4D2 demo, not becuase I didn't enjoy it (I did, and it is on my buy list), but it's too short for me to play more than 5 or so times. I'll go back to a few custom Campaigns on L4D1 to keep me occupied.

I don't know. I just spen a great few hours with some friends trying to fight through Expert level. V tough.

Love the new 45/DE pistol

Quote from ajp71 :The FOX runs on a production block in a light racing tune, despite only producing 190 bhp from 8500 ish rpm it's highly stressed for a 2 litre road engine as it's built out of much lighter materials than a normal road enigne hence the much finer degree of accuracy. The GTR cars are again road engine blocks built up for racing purposes they may not have much in common with a road car but they are still using a low revving compromised road block. The FO8 would be powered by a Judd V8 IRL which is a racing engine, unlike the others this engine is designed for racing for starters it's a stressed component (the enigne takes the load of the car) it's built with very low tolerances to cut the weight to an absolute minimum and depending on the budget (and regs regarding engine changing) only built to last several fast runs before a full rebuild).

The Judd V8 is relatively unstressed and low revving as it is usually fitted in single make series and for hillclimbing where budgets are either smaller or can be cut without hindering the competition. True highly stressed racing engines are a rare thing now (seen in F1 only really) with the number of single make championships and increases in the quality of production engines more big production engines are being fitted for racing such as the Renault V6.

Anyone who tells me that just because LFS can simulate a Zetec it can simulate a BDA without a lot of physics being rewritten has little clue what they're talking about. I'd be happy to be proved wrong so if anyone can produce proper racing engines through LFS Tweak I'd be happy to hear from you

Does a BDA not have power and torque curves?

From how you talk you think they are a magical box that does not produce power the same as any other engine on the planet?

What do you believe is missing from LFS that would stop their simulation then?

Quote from Zebediah_S2 :it would make for a lot less spinning out and accidentally going in too deep with no hope of saving it

You answered why yourself above

It also means people able to catch offs they would not be able to given locks that would never be able to.

As others and myself have said... Wait for the new version. I get the feeling the setup options on the road cars will be VERY limited to follow the VW. A good thing

If you look at the latest patch you will notice the shift indicator has been removed from all road cars! A sign of things to come. I bet after the patch the forum will be flooded with "Why can't I change this/that?"

Quote from ZzeCoOl :I own a Nissan Silvia s14a and the default steering angle of the leading wheel is 45 degrees

Dont tell me that my car isnt real

Thank you

Is that 45 total lock as that is only 22.5 either side. Please post spec page with this quoted?

The reason I ask is that whenever somebody asks people to back up claims like that they go quiet. And NO I don't just want a pick of your 45deg as your car could be modded

I tried disposable for a while and I have gone back to glasses.

What was the killer was being able to tell the difference between right way around and inside out. Trouble is you only find out after you have poked yourself in the eye to put the things in.

If they are inside out they just flick out of your eye as you blink. Then you go through a clean, rinse, poke yourself in the eyes cycle until you get it right.

Not fun. No too bad once they are in but dry your eyes out after a while.

If you are going to get them get onces that give you cat like eyes or that just make your eyes look white. Freak people out

Quote from Bob Smith :This is related to the way trailing arm suspension creates jacking forces which cause this unusual behaviour. I'm not sure if anti-dive or anti-squat geometry works in LFS at all.

Its not from what I know. When it is implemented it will help the UF handling loads

Yep the trailing arm should give anti-[dive|squat] but the old S1 pillar dones not give this.

For the OP, also matters the wheel the handbrake is linked to. Some cars, my old BX for example, have handbrake linked to the front wheels.

Quote from RevengeR :0 will give you linear steering, not 1.0. Can't imagine how can people drive with anything above 0, it just feels so wrong...

You are wrong...

0 gives linear but 1 also gives linear if you wheel has equal or more lock that the associated LFS car.

So if you set your steering to 720 or above and wheel comp = 1 you will always get 1:1 steering for all lfs cars. Wheel comp 1 is the only setting you should use with DFP/G25 when using 720 lock.

For the OP, play with your brake bias to see if that helps with entry oversteer. As you are under braking load and the weight bias is forwards it makes the rear light.

Man i just hope a Holden wins, either that or a new time winner. Please not Team Vodafone!!

Would be nice to see Skaife/Murphy

I have the TV booked for the day, just need to get the grog and I am sorted

Quote from Shadowww :Scawen didn't tested it with >36° lock angles, so I think he didn't fixed all physics bugs that occur at those angles.

What is this rubbish you are talking about?

For info.... LFS used to allow 45deg lock. It was reduced as it is beyond the limits of normal cars and race cars run very low because they dont have much space for more.

From things I have heard there is the possibility that the setup options on the road cars might be reduced once the VW comes out so I would say those asking for 45deg are banging their heads against a wall tbh.

Once body rub and wear are implemented things might change. For info on cars like the GTRs you will find there is little space to increase the lock anyway.
