I dunno we've busted a cracker so perhaps the DEV team will get another 24 quid out of him.... not as i thought, but perhaps it's a good thing.

BMWs arn't really my thing (i've got a yamaha ), but the more cars there are the happier I am really... I'd like to have cars with more strengths and weaknesses so there are more cars per class, at the moment it's very hard for more than one type of car on the track.... seeing as BMW obviously have something to do with this (it is THEIR BMW SAUBER car after all), maybe they'll be inclined to let LFS have other car licenses if this one is well executed.

I didn't realise when I started this thread I'd get someone owned.

funny though, should've bought it, it's stupid not to, so cheap

XBOX 360 games are twice that!

I'd be leniant on a cracked version user for EA games or some other massive corp, but LFS has such a small development team I'd feel horrendous cheating such hard working people of money, less so corperations tho, funny. NM, I've been licenced for a long time, best 24 quid I ever speant.

I would be extatic for any BMW road cars, but especially the following.

The first M5
new m5
z4

X5 for rally
M6 seeing as it's up as a prize for the LFS/INTEL road trip comp
316 coupe
330 (older version the newest one is ugly due to the stretched front lights)
Works Mini
850 turbo

BMW 633 CSi (1986)
A diesel, I want to see if all these diesel owners are right.

720 to 740 hp revving anything up to 22,000rpm, but mostly 18,000 redline. 2.4 litre v8 weighing about 100kg.... pretty insane stuff, I'm curious about the traction control, and the electronic differentials and various things you use to keep an F1 car on the road these days, how they will be represented in LFS.... they've put all the switches on the wheel for the various diff and trac settings.... but you saw what happened when Montoya or whoever it was switched his traction off on the parade lap and span out, how embaressing.

Quote from speedfreak227 :anything under 100kph is pretty much out of the downforce "zone"

fluid (air) resistance is proportional to the square of speed. that's why downforce becomes so dominant above 200 kph.

speedfreak227

100kph..... trail brake, corner.....80kph... fallen off the track on exit.... too much throttle, food mixer impression.

Impressive stuff, does anyone have the equations lfs uses for calculating fluo/aerodynamics? I'd be interested to see how it's represented in game, especially with the wind speed of the track....

I'm confident that whatever the patch does turn out to be, it is nothing but good news for liveforspeed. The tyre physics should allow for more realism, and closer races with mistakes that mean making up seconds rather than spinning out and that being the end of it. This should also help the nightmare that is turn one, less race restart calls etc...

The new layouts look stunning although that hairpin is going to be terrifying, looks like its sharp enough to drop the speeds below the downforce "zone", could make for some very interesting formula and GT races.

Needless to say this is still the only game to me that feels like cars on a road (even if they are still oversteer happy cars), I've only been driving fast for a few years, but compared to everything else this is certainly the best feeling, and most satisfying.

I read the forums, I get excited, and I go and play for a few hours... which is what I'm going to do right now!

I bought it, online racing makes the game, something you wont get with the demo. The money was definately worth it, especially compared to other games.

very pleased

This is the single player reply (apologies in advance if I've uploaded this wrong). As you can see on the wide hairpin on blackwood, I go to change down and it sticks in neutral till the car straightens out. I am using auto clutch with the blip and cut functions enabled.

Nutral Stick mid corner gear change.

Hi,

No matter what settings I adjust on my wheel software or within LFS, if I change gear when the drive train is under engine braking load, or if I'm cornering hard when it reaches the next gear (up or down) it wont engage the clutch again untill I've straightened out.

Does anyone know anything about this? It's really destroying any chance of competing with anyone else online because I have to change far to early for the long sweeping corners scrubbing off miles of speed, and I can't change up on oval untill the straight sections leaving me lagging behind after the first lap.

I am using a Logitech Driving Force with the latest drivers.
The latest LFS patch. (untill the april one comes out! )
2. 8 GHZ Athlon
1gb RAM
XP Pro.

thanks for any help.
