Would have been funnier if it wasn't the same person who posted both pictures, though I did get a chuckle out of it.

Crazyy's bro here. I am backing up everything and reformatting to make sure it's not a hardware issue. I've tried everything and the computer refuses to boot using anything but the vista default graphics drivers or in safe mode. Hopefully I won't have to call up EVGA, the card is only a year old.

Here is the wikipedia article on the Pole shift hypothesis. I have heard that if or when it does happen, it would very likely take place over a long period of time (~100 years). This has nothing to do with gravity being changed, just the magnetic poles at each end swaping polarity.

Don't by compasses.

Quote from Jakg :I think the point is that in Europe most of our roads are narrow and windy, however in America there a hell of a lot more direct. On my route to School (and work) I can only think of one area where it would be safe to go over 80 and that's on a dual carriageway - whereas there is NOTHING on that road and it's dead straight.

I think this is why Europeans think so much differently on the topic of speeding compared to Americans. We have a lot more open stretches of roads, as well as straight highways with cement barriers on all sides no where near residential areas. On this side of the ocean, it is uncommon to find someone following the speed limits locally. If you are driving under 40 in a 25 mph zone, expect to have a few cars on your bumper. I respect those who died in traffic accidents, but that doesn't mean your grief will change someone morally.

Rammstein, nice car! I am looking forward to an update when you get that new supercharger in.

Quote from imadude10 :I didn't want to make a new thread, so here it goes. TC also limits engine power when your clutch starts slipping. In the FZ50 if your clutch gets about halfway on the meter and it slips really badly, the TC will control the engine to limit the slip. I think this needs to be removed as its not stopping wheel spin.

The TC could be detecting the difference between the tire speed and the speed the RPM's should be at in a certain gear, rather than if the tires are actually spinning or not. But that would make no sense as TC would kick in when you are moving the car from a dead stop.

Quote from Shotglass :Seemingly they do the usual thing which is erase the $ and put a € in its place. And isn't the Subaru mostly known for its understeer?

Here's a Top Gear review of the 2004 version.

They tend to understeer on dry pavement, but pretty much every car understeers nowadays due to "safety" reasons.

What about a Subaru WRX STI? Here's a 2003 for $12,500 USD as I wasn't sure about the difference in price in Germany (You could always go with an earlier year).

They won't disqualify him due to people using macros to vote for him. That is how he got nominated in the first place.During the nominations, there were hundreds of people using the python script to vote him in. I'm still surprised mtv's server hasn't gone down once yet.

Also, anyone have a copy of battletoads?

Quote from dougie-lampkin :
b = 1
a = b
a2 = ab
a2 - b2 = ab-b2
(a-b)(a+b) = b(a-b)
a+b = b
b+b = b
2b = b
2 = 1

This confuses me. I just did it in my head and I see no mathematical errors, yet obviously 2 doesn't equal one. Can someone link me to an article that explains this?

EDIT: Nevermind, I realized that "a=b", and dividing by "(a-b)" is the same as dividing by zero.

Also, to add on to the 0.9999... = 1 discussion, I find that this explains it best if you have trouble believing the "1/3" solution:

x = 0.9999...
10x = 9.9999...
10x - x = 9.9999... - 0.9999...
9x = 9
x = 1.

Does anyone have pictures of the changes that have been done to Lime Rock Park? All I've seen is this video plus I downloaded blueprints of what is supposed to be done by the end of this year.

Also, anyone know what chicanes the ALMS will be running next year at Lime Rock due to the changes of the course? I am 100% sure I will be going next year as I missed this years and regret it.

Most dual cores can split the load of LFS between two cores, but because LFS is not multithreaded, "lfs.exe" will never excede 50% total cpu usage (or 100% of one core) on a dual core.

Malwarebytes

I just came across this thread and I love trucking games, and Trukz looks promising. My first trucking game was Hard Truck 2, which I think I picked up in Circuit City. I wonder if I still have the CD lying around.

Another core is helpful when you are capturing videos, having one core dedicated to LFS and one to FRAPS, Camtasia etc.

Quote from mrodgers :The only story I have comes from my dad....

He said he was sitting at a stoplight with a small 2wd pickup truck in the opposite lane stopped. They were stopped in a bit of a valley. A car was coming barreling down the hill behind the pickup and must not have been paying attention. Suddenly, the front end of the car dives down as the driver screeched on the brakes and slams into the pickup truck, front grill meeting the trucks rear bumper. The driver of the truck gets out and looks, grill, headlights, corners of both front fenders, hood, all smashed on the car. He looks at the back of his truck where there wasn't a scratch, shrugs his shoulders at the idiot who hit him, and climbed back in his truck as the light turned green and drove off.

I need a year and model so I can get this truck.
