I should hope so, the Hindenburg was 1930's tech, these modern ideas are a huge leap forward. Not so large & cumbersome with many application & green credentials. They look radically different from the airships of yesteryear.

Solar Ship: The hybrid airship with a low-carbon twist

In recent times there's been a resurgence of interest in airships for military and commercial uses as evidenced by Lockheed Martin's High Altitude Long Endurance-Demonstrator (HALE-D) and Hybrid Air Vehicles heavy-lift variant of Northrop Grumman's Long-Endurance Multi-Intelligence Vehicle (LEMV). Like HAV's design, this concept from Canadian company Solar Ship is a hybrid airship that relies on aerodynamics to help provide lift, and like the HALE-D, it would have its top surface area covered in solar cells to provide energy and minimize its carbon footprint.Although the Solar Ship aircraft would be filled with helium, under normal circumstances they would rely on the aerodynamic lift provided by their wing shape to provide more than half the lift required to get them off the ground. Additionally, the aircraft could also fly when filled with plain old air. This means the aircraft will still be able to fly - and, more importantly, land safely - if there is damage that results in helium loss.
Solar Ship says the aircraft's electric motor can either be powered solely by the energy provided by the on board batteries, or by the solar panels covering the wing - a feat already achieved by a conventional airplane design in the form of Solar Impulse.

The company points out that such heavier-than-air airships provide numerous advantages over their lighter-than-air brethren. Firstly, no mooring infrastructure or ballast weight is required to keep the aircraft from floating away during loading or unloading, making them more practical for the remote locations in which they are designed to operate. Additionally, not relying on buoyancy for lift means the aircraft can be smaller than lighter-than-air aircraft carrying the same payload. They are also more structurally robust and more maneuverable and resistant to wind and weather conditions.

Quote :The revival of Scotland's long-dormant gold-mining industry is underway, after officials gave the go-ahead to start work at a Highland mine.
The Cononish mine, near Tyndrum, could pull in as much as £20 million a year for a decade or more as long as the price of gold stays sky-high.
Nyree Hill, a PhD student in geology at the University of Leicester, is working with Scotgold Resources, the company behind the mining plans, to try to find further gold deposits. The aim is to extend the industry's economic impact in the area beyond Cononish's predicted ten-year lifetime.
"The problem is that gold is found scattered throughout the Scottish Highlands, but so far none has been found as concentrated as at Cononish," Hill explains. "This is despite the Highlands being one of the first areas in the world to be studied by geologists."
She is drawing on years of Scotgold data to analyse the gold-bearing samples that have already been found in case any point the way to deposits rich enough to be worth mining. The area is challenging for gold prospectors; its terrain is rugged and there's a thick layer of soil deposited by glaciers that makes it hard to reach the rock for sampling. Large areas of forested land add to the difficulty of exploratory digging. And for much of the year the weather can be a hindrance too.
To get round these challenges Hill is working to understand why the gold is where it is, and so make exploration more efficient by helping target areas that have the right set of conditions to form another gold deposit. She's analysing the ratios between different forms of the same element, known as isotopes, to get more insight into how the gold deposits were formed and where the best areas for exploration today might be.
Scotgold estimates that the deposits under the mine will produce 20,000 oz of gold and 80,000 of silver each year for around a decade – worth around £180m in total at today's prices. But the company hopes to have discovered more big deposits by the time they run out, so that the economic benefits from the industry can continue.

Gold rush in Scotland!.

I'll 2nd that. Its almost if they do it deliberately. Everybody has been waiting for driver swaps they even told us they were bringing driver swaps, then they pull this BS on us.

I really wanted to come back when they released Oulton but this really takes the biscuit.

Quote from RiseAgainstMe! :anttt, a random guy on the internet, from the other side of an ocean, says days after the fact that he thinks something was poorly dealt with, with minimal information.

Jack Hanna, one of the most respected animal experts in the world, who was on the scene helping make the decision to shoot the animals, says that unfortunately there was nothing else to do.

hmmm... who am I going to believe? but uhh thanks for your incredibly well informed assessment of the situation.

You dont have to believe anyone. Merely my opinion. Then again you dont know what information i may have read.
US police kill escaped lions, tigers and bears

Quote :The bloody toll -- which included 18 endangered Bengal tigers -- sparked outrage from conservationists and calls for restrictions on the largely unregulated ownership of exotic pets.
Sheriff Matt Lutz defended his shoot-to-kill order, telling reporters that officers were in a race against the oncoming darkness when they arrived at the farm around 5:30 pm (2130 GMT) Tuesday and saw the wild predators running free.
"Public safety was our number one concern," Lutz said. "We are not talking about your normal, everyday house cat or dog."
He praised the bravery of the men who left their squad cars to confront the animals armed only with handguns, but said he wished they never had to face such a terrible choice.
"These killings were senseless. For our guys to have to do this, it was crazy," Lutz said.
"We don't go to the academy and get trained on how to deal with 300 pound Bengal tigers. I'm just glad they had the courage to get out of their cars."
Game wardens, SWAT teams, and experts from the nearby Columbus Zoo were called in to assist with the hunt as night fell and residents were warned to stay in their homes.
But they only had four tranquilizer guns -- which carried drugs that can sometimes take a while to put a large animal to sleep -- and couldn't risk losing the animals in the dark or the woods.
One "very aggressive" tiger was shot dead on Wednesday morning when it went "crazy" and started to run towards nearby woods after it was shot with a tranquilizer, Lutz said.
"We could not have animals running loose in this county. We were not going to have that," he added.
Of the 56 animals set loose, only six were captured alive: a grizzly bear, three leopards and two monkeys.
The other slain animals included two wolves, six black bears, two grizzly bears, nine male lions, eight lionesses, one mountain bear and a baboon.
At least one of the animals was struck by a vehicle on a nearby highway and the mauled body of a monkey was also recovered.
A monkey that might be infected with Herpes was still unaccounted for, but may also have been eaten by one of the lions.
The animals were buried on the 73-acre farm Wednesday.
It is a "tragedy" that the animals died but officials had no other choice, said Jack Hanna, director emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and the host of an animal televisio

Quote from PMD9409 :He's gaining unfair positions no matter how you look at it. 20 car wreck happens in front, everyone is slowing down trying to avoid it. That driver flips his switch and drives flat out through, then flips the switch back and has just passed the whole field...

He's not gaining any positions. You've just fabricated some kind of worse case scenario that never happened. He was running near the front & used it to avoid one car, he didnt gain any positions & he saved the rest of the field from a race ending wreck. The only person he passed was the guy who had already lost it. Effectively his lag switch had a positive result on the race so calling him out as a "cheat" is not right.

Any build news please.

lol i don't see that as cheating though as he didn't gain anything. Plus he did everyone behind him a favour.

Anyway with the November build coming up, could someone post up whats supposed to be included. Have they finished driver swaps? Any cool new features? How many features have they promised & NOT delivered?

Nothing expensive about my pc. All the parts are 2nd hand apart from the case & my 19" monitors were £40 each. I bought an original copy of xp about 3 years ago & expected to last at least 5yr. This time i cant share the cost as no one else in my house would benefit from upgrading to 7.

Maybe i should slip a few notes kegteys way, see if can make his newer versions compatible.
