Use carparks for drifting. Rain? I better shut up on this one.

If the developers had listened to all the LFS purists, we would still be playing S1. I understand that you want to protect your precious sim, I love it just as much as you do, but in my opinion you are being all too conservative about it. You can't stop the progress (positive or negative) and standing still at the same place for ever isn't going to solve anything. What you should be much more concerned about is how to handle this situation around mods before it explodes to uncontrolable chaos of crappy models and shitty textures. Rather than bitching about mods and people who want it, you shoud think about how to organize things so that both sides can profit out of it in the future, because at this point, consider it your last chance to do something about it. Sooner or later, LFS will have mods and you will just cry about it.
Now don't take me as your opponent or something, I am too for conservation of the good old LFS as it is now, but I also want new possibilities to explore. High quality community content. I was talking about it earlier and I am tired of repeating myself over and over.
Please, just don't sit, curse and wait until the devs release the modding tools, prepare yourself for it now, organize yourself and take control of the whole situation and you all will have my support.

edit: how come that I missed the riot when bf1 was introduced and new sounds were introduced? i'm sure it was helluva lot of protests

Quote from Nathan_French_14 :do you mean dirty, because tbh, i dont think the cars will get rusty after one race. Unless your driving in the sea of course

Dude, that was supposed to be understood as irony No offense, I have my weak moments, too

I'd like a touch-screen as my second monitor, where I could set pit stuff during race by a simple tuch of a finger. Generally, you could see much more information, that would even be interactive and without ubscuring the view.

I want the cars to get rusty over time. And yeah, how about introducing an RPG-like system for the players? You collect food and drinks during races in order to keep yourself alive through the finish line. Oh and I also forgot weapons, because I rarely finish first

Quote from Davo :Limiting fps in game can greatly reduce CPU usage, v-sync doesn't really do anything performance wise, it might even slow your fps. I limit my frame rate to 60/62fps in game, that's plenty smooth enough for me and my screen has a refrsh rate of 60hz. It also frees up some cpu cycles to do more physics calcs for the other cars on the track.

Actually doesn't the graphics engine wait for the physics engine or vice versa to complete it's calculations? I always thought that the FPS cap is just to lower the CPU usage. Why do you need to calculate physics 200 times a second, when you only see it 50 times per second anyway?

If you are using a keyboard, try the stabilisation feature, it helps a lot to get rid of the frustration.

What I would like is to reset the car back to the starting line and ready to go for another run after passing through the finish line. Some short pause to at least read the times would be useful too. Drag by drag by drag by drag....

He might as well mean by "fixed" something like "ready, rigged, prepared" or "repaired". No idea. I summon you, the original poster, you cometh here and explain thy thoughts to us, miserable ignorants.

...but he sad sLicky, not sTicky, which is the opposite. I don't get it either, that's why I didn't mention it in my first reply, hehe Sorry dude.

+1 for the long rally track, can be a circuit, but with some good jumps

How about introducing a device, that punches you in the face or stomach when you crash. Oh yeah, how about the car catching fire, that would be "fun".
This reminds me of the thread where the poster requested simulation of driver fatigue. It's all just over the top IMHO and I think that we should concentrate on more important issues. I am not against the 'blurred' vision (flight sims have something like that too) I am seeing more and more fruitless suggestions.

Sorry, I meant "visibly" dirty. Or am I missing something?

Quote from Maelstrom :Would be cool tho if we had a car without a windshield, driving in the dirt. I mean the visor could get dirty

Or at least if the tyres hot dirty

Doesn't RBR have something like driver injuries? Could be fun though, driving without the brake-foot

I cannot say that I would die for new tracks, I will, however, welcome any new quality content. But rather than that, I would like the new patch to come out as soon as possible, because I just can't wait for the improved AI and other stuff that comes with it.
As for the thread itself, I think you should have posted in the most recent "Yay or nay" thread, because this whole "new content" thing is just starting to get a little over the top, IMO.

+1 for new HIGH QUALITY tracks anyway

Quote from harjun :At the moment, this team has just been built, but is hoping to have high expectations,
so if you would like to join us and to be member.

Although I am not from any English speaking country, I would say that there are still some mistakes in the last sentence (concerning both grammar and logic). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Take GTA San Andreas for example (as many people play it). There are literally tons of mods for that game (and it even doesn't have a support for it). I'm talking about unlicensed, unofficial, but real-life mods, like car models proudly wearing BMW badges all over for example. And I haven't heard of any legal action being taken against the GTA authors/publisher for that.

Quote from col :Of course it is.
It is already...
It's not "the most realistic real track simulator" or "the most realistic real car simulator", but it is "the most realistic racing simulator".

OK you got me on that one.

If LFS wants to be the most realistic racing simulator, then it will never be. Not unless the content is as real as possible too.

Has anybody watched the Polar Special? I don't have access to BBC 2, but I still have access to the internet :P So I downloaded the special episode in HD And it is awesome. I've already seen it for about 15 times this week (talk about fanatic) and I love the most the part, where JC and JM are in the tent and May unexpectedly pulls out the bottle of wine (or champagne or whatever) and Clarkson says "Noooooo, Jaaameeees". And also the part when JC explains the number twos and bumber dumper Now I realize...sorry for the spoilers if you haven't seen it yet. You should

I absolutely agree with you braincore02. And I'd also like to react to Gener_AL (UK)'s post. You said that all you want is improved AI. WTF for? You race online anyway. And if (when) the AI is actually improved, even more people will race/practice offline, thus even more people will desire mods to be available for them offline.

TLDR the whole thread, but my opinion is that online modding shouldn't be allowed in the form that the majority imagines. I'd prefer a monthly contest for best car and a 6month contest for best track and only the best one will get into the game online (after being thoroughly tested by responsible people).
As for the offline mods, my vote is a BIG YES as nobody cares what I do in my privacy...and if you do, you are a voyeuristic pervert and should be ashamed of yourself :dunce:

As obsolum has stated, this guy either has some personal issues or is just shitting you all. I wouldn't be bothered by this thread anymore (and even won't). Now where is the unsubscribe button?
