Another thing is you'll need heaps of room behind the start lights if you want to have proper races on it... currently you'll only fit 1 or 2 people and no one else will be able to join. Nice layout though.
Klaus Raceway is a demanding circuit with a combination of long straights, long sweeping corners, and series of tight corners. It was designed to host SAE championships, using the MRT class kart. The lap takes approx. 1:06 to complete in the MRT, but it is not limited to just karting. The wide track gives ample room for touring cars and the long straights are ideal for open-wheelers. The design also leaves room for drift competitions, with plenty of run-off on featured corners, and exposed posted outer barriers in some areas.
The design itself is based off a random karting track (Karting Circuit Amckart Tunari) I found by browsing Google Earth. The corners were mainly left in tack, and the track was disected and adjusted to fit in the AU1 L-shaped layout.
Take a look at the screens, klaus_raceway.jpg is from it's 99.9% finished state, and klaus_design.jpg is my layout plan... it turned out just as I wanted it, using up all 512 objects! Infact I really need more to make some outer boundaries more prominent, so I'll try reshuffle some tonight and then I'll post the .lyt file then. Stay tuned!
Well there certainly should be a karting section, as opposed to putting them in the AU1 group. I've another new track I'll release later today also... it's based off a karting track off google earth... it's a massive 1:05 to complete in an MRT
PS... can you change my track title from "Auto-x track" to "Burnz Park" please?
Don't forget to turn on "Place Objects" in the little menu that pops up when you press shift+U. That will bring up another menu on the top right with all the objects you can place. the "o" key will place an object, "," and "." will rotate it.
yeah that barrier crash bug pretty much ruins autocross layouts I'll probably leave them in there for this track, in the hope that it gets fixed in a patch soon.
I kept it tight with the MRT in mind, but my next track will be much bigger for more vehicle variety.
Ok this really bugs me. This guy has gone to a lot of effort to build this track and SHARE it with everyone here. So what's with the "hard work" lecture regarding the team skin? You all jumped on him like a pack of wild dogs, when the only people qualified to approach scania on this are the saika d members themselves, in particular the artist who made the skin. Odds are he's just politely ask him not to use it online...
I hope you enjoy the track. After a short amount of runs I've got about 37 seconds in the MRT, with some very close races! Also fun with the bigger cars, but it's very tight as you'll see in the vid.
