To be fair I did say it was free to edit on the skin, I meant racing numbers etc (which is why it has no numbers on it) but I failed to mention that! Thanks for not releasing it anyway.

What model bmw is that anyway? I've skinned the 2007 version... I have seen older ones (05 or 06 maybe) that look like your fox.

mate I'd rather you didn't completley change my skin like that. It's fine to add a racing number and stuff, but it's supposed to be a REPLICA skin. You've changed it so it doesn't look like the real thing now. argh.

FYI I'm half-way finished making the skin completely high-res (the bmw stuff was stretched from the original). I've added more details too... painstakingly matching it up to photos...

Hi guys... I've got a few photos of Nico Rosberg's FB02 but I don't have enough detail to make the skin. Anyone able to hunt anything down with a bit more detail than what I have? I also would like to know what the sponsor is on the side... VAVA, TATA? I can't figure it out.

If every single demo drifter left it would not affect S2 racers at all. Think about it.

Demo users form communities and drift teams and the like without paying for the product - name another game that supports that kind of involvement for free? The Demo is a *complete product* for many users, that in itself is a BIG mistake. All other games release a demo in a way that will never satisfy the user enough to warrant not upgrading (or abandoning it completely).

There needed to be a real limitation set into the demo, and removing one of the main drift cars is exactly what was needed. Now drifters will get something they want from BUYING the game. Fancy that.

That's funny. I was just thinking that dropin sure has been a demo user for a loooong time. Then he came out and started talking about XRT changes...

I'm in the same boat, only just reinstalled after quite a long hiatus. Main reasons are as Woz stated:
1) no new content (enter patch Y)
2) not enough racers online in my timezone

Point 2) also means I have next to no options on which server I join. It's extremely rare to get a server with the options I want, I always have to just race whatever cars the other 2 aussies are racing at the time Either that or I join an EU server and lag everyone out. Actually most of the time I just create my own server and poke a mate to join me. Sometimes someone else will join. Sometimes.

Of course Point 2) is a direct result of Point 1! I can only PRAY that SCAVIER don't plan on tackling S3 all by themselves. Scawen said himself in a recent post that things are taking longer to develop now because basically the bar has been raised. They really need a larger team if they expect this sim to develop quick enough to stay popular.

I'll finish by saying thanks for Patch Y, I love the FBM. When S2 is finished it'll be a great achievement indeed.

personally I don't resize the entire skin. I use a bit of judement on how much something needs to be scaled - sometimes 75%, sometimes more. It depends on the angle of the surface. If you understand how the skin is projected then you will realise there's no magical number to resize to.

yeah I remembered your BMW skin I figured this one is much different anyway. I'm a little confused about all these liveries though... I'm guessing the white livery is the latest one though, and it's used in germany & usa series. On the Red Bull Media Pictures Database all of the bmw pics are of he white bmw style livery.


Thanks for the comments (general lee you're scaring me!). I will try and make this skin as accurate as possible... I spent an abnormal amount of time positioning the bull on the engine cover - but I was watching top gear at the same time :P

I'm starting a new Formula BMW skin, but I've only just started. Just realized I don't feel like spending all night making it after a long day at work, but at least I have opened the account

It's an easy skin, as it uses the base BMW skin, but I plan on redoing that at a higher res anyway.

Awesome news! I simply haven't felt the need/urge to reinstall LFS for a long time now. It's good to know that the development hasn't frozen...

I personally love the inclusion of the Formula BMW car. It should prove to give close racing with the excitement of open wheel racing I also can't wait to skin this baby - I asked about getting the skin proior to release here but have had no response yet.

Oh and on the racing line topic - how so many people fail at comprehending the context in the video is beyond me. I thought it was obviously a debugging tool to demonstrate the AI's new racing line calculations. Did everyone watch this video without sound or something?
