Here we go, mainly for reference of the coat of arms because the rest is an old design that never saw a race! For everything else, use the other shots for reference. Thanks
The top is plain yellow btw, red bull made mark lose his green hatch pattern :\ The back is important though, I may only have pics of a slightly older revision but it'll be the same. It's basically the australian coat of arms in a lighter blue. Let me see if I can find more angles!
edit: oops it's not plain yellow, see attached pic (current helmet, monaco 07):
I actually wish the LX6 was simply changed to have slicks, rollcage, and no headlamps and a bit less weight. Then the LX8 could be something similar to a donkervoort. That would make the most sense to me anyway. LX4 = road version, LX6 = race version, LX8 = GTR version w/body kit (no wings!!!!!).
This can't be put into a poll, I didn't vote either.
The LX4 is more popular than the LX6 simply because it handles better. A v8 version would be painfully slow through the corners but mega fast n straights, and overall too twitchy. The obvious solution is what I posted above... a racing version called LXR (nothing to do with previous renders), which is either 4 or 6 cylinder, but lighter and with racing fittings as in the picture above. No pointless headlights either lol. I love the LX cars, but we really need something that can go fast AND grip through corners at speed. More grunt won't help (v8) and wings will just look bad, not represent anything in the real world, and make it too similar to the single seaters.
let me add also... that these should not be compared to GTRs, they don't have similar models that race together on the track. Just like the FOX, the F08, the BF1, there doesn't NEED to be another car for it to compete against.
I'm sorry but all this talk of wings and downforce goes against the LX idea... LXs are very unique to drive (very fun too), so the last thing i want them to becoem is another FOX.
LXR = Superlight racing version of the LX4/6 (not sure on engine specs)
That's all we need... more power/weight and rollcage and racing slicks etc.
edit: ok, I didn't read that right... so it broke just by falling off your monitor??? I knock mine off all the time but it doesn't get damaged - it's simply too light to break by falling 30cm... I guess you'll be able to get it replaced :\
ok, it soudns like you need more light filtering. Open the software, and find the Tracking display (with the three dots) from there you can open up some settings that include light filtering. Just bump that up a bit and give it another shot, repeat until it works.
Don't be put off by it, once there's no light interfering it'll be SMOOTH sailing. Also, don't forget that F12 centres the view... so when you sit down, look at teh centre of your screen and hit F12. One problem there is that trackIR overrides the keys so F9 & F12 displays won't work in-game - all you need to do is edit the TrackIR profile (again, in the software) and change the key presses to Alt+F12 to centre your view, for example.
Knight_Attack: your helmet skins are second to none! I've tried to make a Mark Webber 2007 helmet and have given up out of sheer frustration. I find skinning cars to be a pleasure, but I don't have the patience for the way in which helmets must be skinned (it's crazy hard!). So, is there any chance you could make one for me? I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks
I'd like to add that my post was referring to a once-off MASSIVE freeze up. Please do not confuse with the usual stutters that make a race unpleasant, as they have been now fixed for me since w25. The problems by those who replied sound a bit different in my opinion.
Just curious, has anyone experienced a MASSIVE stutter spike in w26? It's been running beatuifully for me (stutters from previous patches resolved) but last night out of nowhere my LFS went completely nuts. I mean, it stuttered so bad that the sound chopped up heaps and I could see only 1 frame a second for about 5 or more seconds. My first thought was, uh oh something is loading in windows, but my hdd wasn't flashing crazy like it would be if that were the case. Also, as usualy with LFS stutters, my FPS counter did not lower at all (was around 80, according to FRAPS). After the 5 or so seconds it smoothed out a bit, but it was still a bit choppy so I immediately quit LFS and checked to see if anything was happening in windows. Nothing out of the ordinary, no AV activity, no popups, no active processes.
I was wondering if this has something to do with the new skin system? Is it possible that LFS tried converting a skin file (or something) whilst I was driving? I know it's meant to happen when you're idle, but is it at all possible that in rare circumstances it can happen when driving?
even better:
1) copy your LFS folder and rename it to something like "LFS test patch"
2) download the zip file at the start of this thread and open it
3) drag/copy all files from the zip into your new folder, overwriting anything (you won't lose anything, and you're backed up now anyway)
I just like to use the zip file as you have more control over where things go... many people mis-use the exe file archive.
The 6DOF works amazingly well. I understand this isn't a simple plug n play feature by scawen as this seems to work better than MS Flight Simulator The leaning is correct when you look behind, which makes the whole experience seem quite realistic. The only problem is the clipping, but I don't think there's any justification to try and correct that for such a small user base. If your TIR is set up correctly you shouldn't be clipping during normal use. For example, I usually sit back a fair bit from my desk, so in the FOX my view was clipping through the intake when I looked behind. All I had to do was roll my seat forward a bit
Congrats scawen, and THANKS for a wonderful feature. My TIR will now get a workout
ps: leaning though corners is fuuuun
pps: I've uploaded a quick video to youtube demonstrating 6DOF in LFS, check it out here.
