thanks... the personalising is just for this skin as it takes just a few seconds to change numbers around, change the mirror color, and add the tiny flag next to the license plate.
Red Bull Junior Team Formula Renault 2.0 Skin pack forFOX
I'll post more detailed screens tomorrow. Very close to releasing pack, which includes skins for:
#5 Oliver OAKES, England
#15 Stefano COLETTI, Monaco
#16 Mika MÄKI, Finland
#18 Brendon HARTLEY, New Zealand
#19 Jaime ALGUERSUARI, Spain
Plus a blank #1 skin. I also have a #27 skin for myself and #12 for a friend. I'm happy to personalise others by number, nationality & mirror colour upon request.
The skins are based off the 2007 model, where possible. I hope some people are interested
it happens everywhere, but yeah Aston is the main culprit... the first/last corner of AS2, the one with sand on the inside. Perhaps it's related to sound, since scawen has been playing around with sound in the test patches... how do I turn sound off completely in LFS so I can test this?
oooh Orbital eh victor? I went through a big Orbital phase during University, they kept me sane when I lived without a flatmate for 6 months
Now i'm into more experimental stuff like Aphex Twin, Autechre, et al. Love the track though, snivilization and middle of nowhere are my fav orbital albums
for a few months now (test patches) I've been getting stutter in ever online race, but it has nothing to do with drivers exiting the pits. It even happens when there are just 2 of us on the server racing around. Now I get around between 50-170 fps and the stuttering does not lower this. It happens randomly, but quite more common as I approach the pit box area ont he start/finish straight. It makes me crash all the damn time. What's more annoying is that it never used to be like this... the massive framerate was silky smooth as it should be.
I used to think it was my new sata2 hard drive running in sata1 mode, but then I found a background process was causing stutters and killing it would solve the problem. Now it's back again... LFS just seems to be very sensitive to hard disc activity - or maybe it's my hdd after all
I will have to get another disk installed to test, but I have none lying around a t the moment.
Just a question, have you been working at a high res with this? like 2048? It will help avoid the blurries when you are transforming things multiple times to line up.
I understand getting this completely accurate is a huge task, so a less detailed version is still a top effort. You've managed to get the colours perfect
the ratio is directly proportionate to the angle/normal of the polygons... in other words, the skin is projected onto it from the side, so the more angled the surface is, the more stretched it will appear.
I must admit though, I always thought that the sides & top required a 75% X-scale first. Atleast that works for me.
Several layouts on a real circuit is more than what any other sim offers; it'd be a unique feature as far as I'm aware (though I could be wrong). Surely LFS, with it's reputation, could get a deal with at least one famous/international circuit?
says one Ball to another maybe they're one and the same? :P
I'm strongly for brake fade (with tyre-like F9 indicators) and certainly for track marbles & dynamic rubber lines (when added with rain would make them slippery). But don't you think that this is a bit off-topic?
As much as I enjoy the high fidelity physics modelling, I do yearn for more tracks and I'm often jealous of rFactor EVEN THOUGH I'm well aware that the driving is naff in comparison.
Don't you think we could actually get real life tracks in LFS without straying from the fictional/abstract feel for the game? There are many racing sims/games out there that have both fictional and real tracks. Why can't LFS be the same? A real F1 GP track complete with its shorter variations would be awesome.
