I do like the scenery of the Red Bull ring, as it's about 100km away from my hometown. But the track itself is quite uninteresting, but that's not AC's fault.
I don't think it's a Windows 10 issue per se. Mind posting more of your computers specs? Fro. What you say, it sounds rather like you're euning out of memory or a heat related problem.
I have to say that honestly, I expected worse. I literally laughed out loud in Sabine Schmitz' short Top Gun segment, and I do find Joey... er... Matt endearing. Chris Whatshisname though comes off as a cheap Jezzer impersonator in the scripted scenes and an overexcited preschooler with the live audience, who goes "look what I made" all the time, while confused if he wants to invoke nostalgia to the old top gear or get rid of it's old ballast.
Also, doing rallycross now completely misses th point of the star in a reasonably priced car segment. IMHO it was the joy of seeing stars in rather mundane cars trying to go fast.
But I am slightly optimistic that Ginger Chris will find his stride and look less forced, cringeqorthy and awkward. So right now, it's whatchable. NOT brilliant, but watchable.
Now my second try. Seems like Fraps was the performance culprit. Deactivating it completely solved the performance problem, even though it wasn't recording, nore having any overlays activated...
Short verdict: Physics feel floaty, braking seems to be digital, as in either it's blocking the wheels or not braking at all. All in all, reminds me of Wreckfest concerning the driving feel. But that might be due to the gamepad controls.
There's a simple reason most of europe doesn't need pickup trucks: infrastructure.
Europe is much more densely populated than the US, thus we both have proper roads and we do not need to carry large amounts of goods or materials very frequently, because we can get everything close by.
To try to prove my claim, just look at US cities. I bet you people living in larger metropoitan areas in the US also are less likely to own a pickup truck than people in more rural areas.
Two minor points also facturing in: gas prices are lot higher here, so we tend to drive vehicles that are a bit more economical. And the goods we need to haul usually need to stay dry. So a vehicle with a roof offers both offers protection from the weather, improves aerodynamics (for economical hauling) and the have the bonus of a lower loading lip, increasing the available volume.
I recently updated my rig from an old g25 to a t300 and can wholeheartedly recommend it. I went with the Ferrari Integral Racing Wheel, which comes with better pedals than the stock T300 rs, so you might not need to sell them and replace them with fanatec ones.
The pedals are the t3pa (NOT the t3pa pro though), with an optional conical rubber brake mod that makes it feel almost like a load cell brake rather than a potentiometer one. Also, as they plug directly into the wheel and do not need to be set up as an additional USB device, they work perfectly for PC, PS4 and PS3.
The wheel-rim is great, the alcantara feels awesome and I do like it's 30 cm diameter.
Forcefeedback is precise, quick and silent compared to the g25, allthough I've heard that the g29 is quite silent aswell.
All in all, a great package for 400€, which IMHO is ATM the best bang for your buck.
IMHO the only downside is: if you go for the TH8A shifter (which can also be used as an analogue handbrake), it only works with the PS4 if you plug it in directly into the wheelbase, if you want to use it on PC or the PS3, you need to connect it via USB to the PC/PS3 directly, and that requires you to change the cable if you use it on PS4 aswell. And that shifter will set you back another 120€.
EDIT: Looking at the fanatec pages, I think their pedals only work either with fanatec wheel bases and as seperate usb devices, they don't plug into the thrustmaster ones, but I might be wrong there...
Nobody enjoys having less money. But, even though my country isn't explicitly mentioned, it works similarily as those that are, let me tell you what taxes are, at least to me:
Taxes are not my governement stealing my money. Taxes (and other fees) are what I pay to have a functioning infrastructure, healthcare and pension. Thus, I don't begrudge having less money, but rather enjoy having not to worry about affording healthcare, or ending up poor and homeless once I cannot work anymore.
Quite on the contrary. Disney movies in general tend to be more about the plot than the spectacle. Now I know those plots are somewhat simple and geared towards a younger audience, but still, they're well executed, and Disney usually manages to make their films appeal to both kids and adults.
Also, the original trilogy was basically a space fairy tale.
So in conclusion I do think they'll do better than Licas did.
Nope. Looking is a horizontal turning movement that shouldn't tilt the horizon. G-forces though tilt the head sideways.
But then, as to how our brain decodes images, the horizon shouldn't tilt at all. Just try it out yourself. you'll see that whe you titl your head, you still percieve the horizon to be horizontal, while you feel your head to be tilted.
One of my favourite games of all time has been rereleased on GoG! Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri. It's made by Looking Glass (of System Shock and Thief fame) and is a power armor sim/tactical shooter hybrid that was way ahead of it's time.
Despite me having the original box somewhere in my parent's basement, I rebought in on GoG. Here's a short Let's Play of me:
If anybody still cares, the free PS+ Edition for PS+ subscribers came out... but it lacks the only thing that makes it somewhat bearable: the online functionality. It's to be added "later".
Well, I think this forum is missing a general gaming thread where people can post about what they're playing right now, and share screenshots and videos of games that might not otherwise be important enough to warrant their own thread.
I`ll start it off with a longish video I did yesterday of Massive Chalice, a Doublefine Tactics game that's supposed to come out on June 1st.
I actually like the career mode, and when you set it to not allow restarts of sessions, the AI on 100% and 100% length, it's pretty challenging.
TBH, despite me preferring how AC drives over pC, I keep coming back to pC more because it offers a more solid single player experience (and I am nowhere near competitive online)
