It's actually two unlocks per week.

You get three when you purchase S2, use 1 to unlock it initially, so you have two left, which is also the maximum of unlocks to have.
If you use them, you get one unlock back every week.

The question remains though, why you'd need so many unlocks?

Don't want to spoil anything, but child abuse isn't a phenomenon limited to the catholic church, but can be found in many places, especially if there's strict a hierarchy involved.

Not that it makes it less condemnable. Sadly it's just far more widespread.

Quote from The Very End :You are exactly right. Today's cars are bullshit, too much fancy shit and too less endurance & survability.

Can't agree on that, even my cheap old Corolla (nope, not a sprinter trueno "sports car") is much more sturdy and reliable than everything else I've driven.

Quote from The Very End :True, I'll edit the comment, alltho I did write in white text.

As a more in dept answer of why the brakes don't overheat I don't know, but it would be pretty hard to code. I canot remember a game that has this feature, and personally I see things more important than brake heating.

That's just me at least.

Pretty much every ISI/Simbin game has it, and it adds a lot to races which take longer than 20 minutes.

Would have been much less work to do just the two inverted black and white skins. The rest can be achieved with the colour sliders...

Quote from funRacer[83] :He wrote this: "If you drive more carefully you won't slip on the brakes, and wont get a ban... that easy."

Now here's where you get it wrong: The banned racer Ady_Romania said he slipped, while the admin VoiD said that he watched the replay from several angles and deemed those "incidents" to be worth of a ban. Now who do you trust more? an admin, or someone who is know for bad behaviour?
On a sidenote: have you seen the replay? or how else do you judge if it was a simple mistake or deliberate?

Quote from funRacer[83] :But that is just to naiv, even the best drivers in real life (Formula 1 driver) do mistakes and they are not banned for every accident they have. Some times it´s just an racing accident, that just happens from time to time. As long as somebody is not doing it all the time you should be able to live with it.

You do know that real life racers get quite hefty financial punishments, even for seemingly quite trifle incidents?

Quote from funRacer[83] :Even the admin admitted that it were only two accidents and that it was only "Just some minor things here and there." So it is obvious that it wasn´t a try to wreck somebody.

He said that Ady was on the list for various minor incidents, but was banned ultimately because he ****ed up in T1 twice quite badly. So being on that list wasn't a reason for the ban, but a reason for the admins to keep an eye on him.

Quote from funRacer[83] :If the server is fine and you can kickvote/ban the guy I have no problem with using that to get rid of the bastard. But there were some servers where you just couldn´t start a votekick/ban (maybe it was a demoserver FBM and BLGP as track).

And no of course I am not crashing somebody who crashed me because of a racing accident where I am not 100 % sure that he was doing it on purpose, but if somebody like it happend to me is going 3 times in a row to the pit and is waiting at t1 for me just to acclerate and try to crash me you can´t talk about missunderstanding the situation.

And in that moment I have absolutly no problem with destroying every damn single race of such bastard, not that he would really try to race.. (so after a while of course I also lose the fun on it and just search a better server.

I for one find it funnier to try to evade a crasher who's out to get me. I mean, bumping someone doesn't require much skill.

Quote from funRacer[83] :Yeah and that exactly is the problem you try to judge my driving on ridiculous bullshit. If you had ever raced against me you would know that I am a very fair driver. Its just as stpuid as to ban somebody because of a list on the internet.

Well, I jumped to conclusions, just like you did with the behaviour of the admins. If you're a fair racer, that's fine with me.

Dan, an easy way to prevent all the ruckus would be to have the people PM you their times, without making them public until the contest is over.

Quote from funRacer[83] :yeah that is absolutely right and that is the reason why there are never crashes in the real Formula 1!

Never ever! Did you ever see one? I didn´t. :uglyhamme

And what exactly is your problem?

Quote from funRacer[83] :What a bad joke to ban somebody for only two small mistakes is ridiculous and the list well that is even worse to ban somebody because of a list when you don´t have the proof and don´t understand all the circumstances.

I for one trust the admins to know the difference between a racing incident and a deliberate try to wreck someone from a replay.

Quote from funRacer[83] :So if an **** is crashing me in the last lap of a race while I am leading just to destroy my race and in the next race I do the same to him he sends the replay of me crashing him you are going to put me on the list and ban me?

Yes, if you acted that stupidly, you'd deserve a ban. It's not the server admins fault if you don't reprt an incident but rather resign to stupid and childish revenge. Also, I trust admins who watch the replay more than your judgement from your very limited in game car view. You might revenge crash someone for a simple racing incident, which makes you just as "stupid" as the admins.

Quote from funRacer[83] :Kinda stupid! Only ban somebody if you have real evidence that he is a crasher not for 2 small mistakes on your server that could happen to anyone.

See above...

Quote from funRacer[83] :But it was only a 3 days ban? So its still stupid but not as bad as it would be if it was lifetimeban.

Honestly, I'd ban you for your attitude in here in the forums if I were an admin, because I can't imagine you being a clean and sportsmanlike driver on the track. Especially as you mentioned revenge wrecking as a feasable tactic.

There is no product that can be reselled. Live for Speed is free to use, but you can purchase a personal license. It's not a good, but simply the right for you to use the content of said license. This license is not transferable to other persons at all. Even if you gifted your account details to someone else, the account could be legally banned.

Ah, I story I gladly share. Don't read if you're under 18 years of age.

Back when I was serving the nation as a civil worker in 02, my fello worker and I always used to read a q&a column of a sexual therapist in a newspaper. One day, a poor bloke asked what to do to make women stay with him. All his girlfriends said he wouldn't amke their hearts throb. Before reading the answer, I yelled out: "That's easy! Cunnilingus!".
Now my coworker wasn't that fit in latin, so he asked me what that meant.
Well, I did the best explanation I could: I spread my index and middle finger a little and stuck my tounge between them, which he commented with a "Bertl, du perverse Beutelratte!", which translates roughly to "Bertl, you perverted Opossum!".
Now, as "Beutel" means bag, he used it as a synonym of testicle and he himslef translated it into latin. Thus "Coleus Rattus" aka "testicle rat" was born.

I think I remember that someonme said way back in time that such a system would make cracking LfS easier.

I still agree though that seeing the S1+2 cars and being able to spectate and watch replays on all servers would be getting some people to buy it.

I think the main problem with LfS smoke generation is that smoke is only generated on the patch of rubber that's touching the tarmac, and it isn't based on friction, but on temperature. thus a hot spot will always create a puff of smoke as soon as it touches the road, as long as it's hot enough.

Quote from TexasLTU :You can't say anything bad for a black guy, because you'll go to court, you can't say anything bad about Judes because you'll be blamed about anti-semitism, and you can't say a bad word for gay, because you'll be blamed for homofobia. And EVERYONE can say ANYTHING about "normal" white people. All this gay stuff became such a ridiculous thing.

Bullshit. You can't say anything about "the blacks", "the jews" or "the gays" because that would be spreading generalisations, prejudices and wrong accusations - in short: it would be racism, homophobia or anti-semitism, and you'd be rightfully accused of such a mindest if you did.

It's still quite possible to call a criminal black person a criminal, because that individual would be one. You could still call a cheap jewish person cheap because that individual would be so. You can still call a promiscuous gay person promiscuos, because that individual would be so.
But it wouldn't have anything to do with those individuals being black, jewish or gay.

Coming soon, as in: it's soon to be released, or it's soon that you upload it somewhere? IIRC, the live action Initial D movie is a chinese production and not even mediocre.

Quote from ACCAkut :What happened then? Konntest du da mit Hilfe der Justiz irgendwas machen?

Nope, as his argument was redundant in itself: "The thesis doesn't reach up to my demanded scientific standards". He did not specify said standards, nor why I didn't meet them. Additionally, as he's still head of department, so it would still be up to him to accept anything I write, making fighting for it obsolete.

There is still a remote hope though, which happened to someone I know: similar story, but when his HoD finally retired a few years after, the new one contacted him and gave him the chance to write a new thesis.
But honestly, as I work as a Journalist / PR-specialist anyways, I really don't know if I would go through the rather unconvenient workload of another final thesis again, as it wouldn't gain me much except a MA, as my profession is full of people who didn't finish their studies.

Well, cars are the most dangerous things people in europe and northern america encounter on a regularly base. So this doesn't surprise me really.

Also, this threads dedicated to scary moments, as in: very short periods of time.

My biggest scare wasn't really over quickly, so it wouldn't qualify, but I will tell it anyway:

The Head of Department of my Journalism University simply didn't accept my final thesis, which I had worked on for over a year three times, thus expelling me from my university. He tried to do that since the second semester, but as there wasn't anything he could've done officially, as my "misconduct" was limited to not agreeing with him and costly things he did more for his personal gain and prestige than for the good of the students. He did try to force the occasional professor into having me to fail often enough to get kicked out, but I always managed to pass. Until the very last thesis. I honestly thought that, as I had come that far and would be gone anyway, he would just let me pass. But alas, he didn't.
So I stood there, with basically 4 years and lots of money and even more of my energy wasted, and no idea how to tell my parents, let alone how to cope with it or what I should do. Took quite a while until I recovered from that one.

Quote from LFSn00b :Insurgency doesn't need any games to be installed to run at all apart from SDK Base, so you are wrong. I even tested this with a new steam install.

DOD:S is nowhere near CS:S tbh, because DOD is far more tactic-based checkpoint capture game whereas in CS you just step in and start shooting enemies.

DOD:S has also recoil and fatique which CS doesnt have.

You actually called DoD tactical? Blasphemy. Try Red Orchestra, also available through steam.

On a sidenote, that game has a very strong finnish community. And it's miles ahead of insurgency, if you don't mind the scenario: ww2, strictly limited to the eastern front (allthough there are mods which add the african and normandy theatre)

Hmm, I have four moments that rank equally on my "most shaken" list:#

1) When scratching my neck, I felt a hard knot next to my spine. Thank god, it was just an infection of a lymph node and not cancer.

2) When a doe got partly into my car, through the windscreen at 80 kph. It was the only time in my life I had kind of a panic black out. Not that I passed out, but there's a gap in my memory from going along the road nicely when my then GF yelled "DOE!" to standing on a bycicle lane next to the road, with the car and myself full of doe fur and broken windscreen glass, and a thankfully quite dead but not brutally maimed doe next to the car.

3) Driving home on the busy Autobahn, going 140-150 kph when right out of nowhere a bike lay across my lane. I had no room to swerve left or right due to the heavy traffic and me and the bike being in the middle lane. Everything slowed down for me, including my perception of my own speed of reacting. Still I remained strangely calm, seeing the bike come nearer and nearer and realizing that when I hit it, I will most likely spin into another car at a very high speed, causing quite a severe accident.
Surprisingly, I squeezed past it.
I immediately called the authorities, and while phoning, I saw a hungarian car with a bike stand on the roof parked on the emergency lane. I described the car to the police. Sadly, the police wasn't able to clear or at least close the lane quickly enough, so the bike caused a heavy accident with severe injuries (but no fatalaties). Due to my help though, they got the culprits before they were 20 kilometers away from the scene.

4) Going on a well known road in the middle of a foggy winter night. The speed limit is 80, but most drivers drive 100 as it's safely possible to do so and no speed cameras around. That night though, I felt uneasy and I slowed down to 60. Then, at a right hand turn leading into a downward slope, I hit black ice. The steering got light, I got on the opposite lane, spun out to the right and skidded down the whole slope blocking both lanes. The 200 metres I slid were the longest in my life, with nothing I could do except bracing for impact in case I hit the guardrail, miss it and drop down the embankment, or an oncoming car which would be unable to brake due to the very ice I slid on.
Thank god none of that happened, and I could continue after having a few relieved deep breaths. Turned out that from the point I skid, the road was a massive surface of ice all the way home, which were another 10 kilometers.
