Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

Last time RTFR run a GTR class car in South City's Chicane Route configuration, the race set a record lowest finishing percentage by being the only race in event history with below 50% finishing rate. Seems like quality of drivers have improved through these years and the race this week on very similar combo ended with 88% finishing percentage, however 8% did not reach the finish line as they retired after completing half of the race to be classified in race results. Of course the narrow chicane was highly influencing drivers - some lost positions, some damaged car, some gained on other drivers' mistakes.

It's not really clear why the lead change happened, but with less than 3 laps to go Gábor took over the race lead after being in chasing position for almost whole race, led the remaining 2 laps to score his "Black Jack" race win - the 21st RTFR victory. While running in lead,he also set the fastest lap of the race, which was his 16th,adding also his 45th top5 finish to stats. The lithuanian driver with ever changing name was the one to beat in qualifying,so he scored his 17th pole position, but after leading 30 laps,he lost race lead and finished 2nd to score also his 17th top5 finish. R.Kardol was rather invisible on the broadcast as he was running alone for most of the race, finishing 3rd,which is his 75th top5 finish,Adam had way more action to go through to finish 4th and in top5 for the 4th time. Ayoub Maroc used the chaos in late race stages to slip into 5th position, scoring his 9th top5 finish.

Next up is RTFR XL - on the coming tuesday a totally different LFS's GTR car will be used. It's the one classified as NGT class car with a lot of rolling potential - the beefed up UF1000. And to add some more roll in the rolling the selected track has few of the "sausages" lying around,so it will be another focus test race just like this week. Full information will be posted and server will be set up tomorrow. In 2 weeks the standard length RTFR will return - which car and where can be found out in the broadcast recording.

PENALTIES:
Denialator - receives 10 seconds added to finish time for pit entry line violation.

- - - - - - - - - -

The first RandomCar race at somewhat faster track was held at Kyoto's roval configuration named National and regarding winner there was no surprise - the Ultimate Road Car keeps dominating the racing and since it was used by 2 drivers at same race for the 1st time ever,it happened to take a double victory, making itself still unbeaten. With this trend it will receive another set of extra kilograms for next round and if max possible restriction does not slow it down enough, the car's future in this league will start draw question marks.

Series newbie Ayoub Maroc got the URC right at his 1st round and got used to the car quickly enough to upgrade his 3rd position in qualifying to 14 lead laps out of 16 and race win. However his win was everything else than easy as 2 cars were chasing him whole race long, the closest one was fellow URC racer with experience with this car - RD2 won series' 1st ever race with this car and tried to convert his 2nd draw of this car into 2nd win,but never really found a way past,so he clocked the closest finish in league's history by finishing 0.14 seconds behind race winner. The bulgarian set the fastest lap of the race, scoring his 2nd one of these as the 1st ever driver. Fastest in qualifying for the 3rd time in row was Mantas, scoring this achievement with 3rd different car, however during the race he could only follow the URC duo and finished less than a second behind winner in 3rd position.

The current standings leader did not get a great race with his Acosta, but still scored a decent set of points by finishing 8th to keep lead in standings as his closest rival had even worse race - Fast is still 2nd,but now 10 points behind lead,Nosle jumped into 3rd position with 12 points gap to lead.

The top3 in teams championship are still the same - S1dus leads, but their lead was reduced to 20 points and closest rival is now B2R,who overtook RGA with highest points score in RandomCar. RGA also outscored table leaders, but just by 2 points to get to 21 points gap in standings. No real changes at the top of nations cup - Lithuania keeps pulling away from competition as they have extended their lead to 50 points. Finland is still in stable 2nd position, but best of the rest is now 1 driver nation Luxembourg. With 4 out of 4 wins,URC of course leads manufacturers standings and their gap is increased to 30 points over FXO. 3rd position has changed however - Imprezzive took over the last podium position step and is 39 points behind leaders.

When looking at the stats,we can see that few cars happened to be drawn more often than others - the AWD Imprezzive is currently drawn most with 17 draws, followed by Talot with 15 draws. 8 drivers already have been drawn same car twice, most prominent seems to be 136mph who got the FXO twice out of car's total of 7 draws. The 4th round set not only new race average speed record of 133km/h but also was the 1st race with 100% finishing percentage as all 29 drivers completed at least half of the race distance.

End of the 1st half of the season will be run in the Aston - North seems to be one of the most popular user selections in RTFR XL,so it's no wonder it was selected also in RandomCar. The race will feature lowest number of laps in the series - 14. Next week the server will be returned to it's original duties - the next 2 weeks of RTFR will feature 2 different LFS's own GTR cars, which and where will be run on coming tuesday, will be announced this week in it's info thread.

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

Quote from ZFRL•LG-mies via RGA discord :Event/time: 205th RTFR, lap 9, t3 (last corner)
Car to report: [WCL] Eza
I was between 2 cars so I had to keep a tight line but Eza failed to keep his inside line and understeered into me, launching me into the wall

After practice and qualifying drivers should be aware that car with road tyres and low downforce cannot keep very tight line in turn 3,therefor should leave more space between apron and himself for car on inside compared to cars like FBM or FOX. There was no car on outside,so there was no reason to keep such tight line, therefor the contact happened at your own fault.

Oval racing has always that element of unpredictibility,as with cars near around at high speeds, there is not much room of error. Despite just 150 horsepower and low weight, the Formula Skippy turned out to be quite a challenge around the high speed oval as it does not feature slick tyres. That led to difficult handling in the famous Kyoto oval's turn 3 and also drivers could not avoid incidents ahead so quickly. A total of 4 RTFR races before this one featured 4 different leaders - this record was smashed this week and the most recent race had 7 different race leaders, however 3 of them retired.

With all the LFS experience,it was still the 1st ever RTFR race for Dennis, who started in this event perfectly - by scoring the pole position, however his race was just 15 laps long, from which he led 3 laps,as he retired after mistake on lap 16. A.Valta won his 1st RTFR XL race on january this year by leading just a single lap, this week he repeated that - he was on chase group whole race long and crossed the finish line in race lead only on final lap, finishing just 0.1 seconds ahead of competition to score his 6th RTFR race win. It was also the 18th top5 finish for the standings 3rd place driver. The current standings leader led 16 of last 21 laps, still it was not enough to score another win and Gábor had to settle for 2nd place finish being in the middle in what seems to be one of the closest top3 finishes in RTFR history (there is no official collected data),it was his 44th top5 finish. Adam led an RTFR race for the 1st time ever on lap 35,but could not keep it until finish line and with just 0.23 seconds gap to race winner he finished 3rd,which is still his best finish in RTFR,improving by a single position and adding 3rd top5 finish to his account. Unite led 3 laps in the opening 1/3 of the race, but lost several positions to finish just 4th,scoring his 70th top5 finish, however he set the fastest lap of the race (and whole event) to score his 25th such achievement - just 3 less than the leading driver in this chart. Another RTFR debutant under a joke name finished 5th,being the only driver in top5 without lead laps.

VOD at Youtube:

RTFR server will be used for other event next week - the round 4 of RandomCar 2023 series will put the colorful cars field in a bit faster track than on previous 3 rounds. Let's see how the Kyoto National reversed will mix the cars - there will be a total of 22 different models in the randomizer's hat. In 2 weeks the RTFR server will be returened for RTFR event, where one of the slick tyre cars will be used - which and where can be found out when watching the stream recording. In 3 weeks RTFR XL will feature the 3rd race of the small FWD GTR car UFR in Rockingham's roval course.

Road to Kyoto 500. Part 1. Tilt
Race Green 300km of Westhill 2023 - information and discussions
Eclipsed
S3 licensed

Race Green Events presents it's currently only regular endurance race for the 4th year in row - as always the race will be run with cars from the extended TBO class in the challenging Westschleife layout course. For the 2nd year in row and 3rd time in total we will have 300 kilometer race to decide the winner[s] of the event. Last year increased the field variability by adding cars mods besides the 5 LFS default cars, this year the trend will continue with a little difference - entrants will be able to apply cars they would like to race if they cannot find a suited car in the current list, which consists of LFS default cars, mods with approved status and several cars from last years list. Despite huge cars variability, the skill will be the main factor which will decide the winner as cars are well matched and to compensate different fuel ranges,a mandatory 30 seconds pitstop during the race will be required again.

The track once again received an update in which some slower sections were removed to give the track a little more speed, cutting it down to 13.65 kilometers length, which means laptimes under 8 minutes might be possible. The nominal distance of 300 kilometers will be completed after 22 circles around the track, while the race is expected to be just under 3 hours in length (over 3 hours for those on tale end of lead lap). As always it will be allowed to race alone or in a team with up to 3 drivers - the track alone is an endurance factor,so it is highly advised to enter the race in a 2 or 3 driver team unless driver is ready for a proper endurance to race alone.

Timetable:
Sunday,21st May
15:45 UTC / 17:45 CET - 60 minutes open track qualifying
17:00 UTC / 19:00 CET - race start for the 22 laps race
* the shown CET time is current (summer) time - if not residing in CET time zone, always refer to UTC for correct time zone convertion!

Qualifying:

Due the track length an outlap is very long and takes more than 1/7 of the qualifying time - all the drivers should be patient and leave large gaps (preferably even out of visibility range) to ensure a clean hotlap! Organization is encouraging to drive multiple hotlaps back to back as it will ensure more completed hotlaps.
Multiple driver entries are allowed to qualify only with 1 driver! The driver who qualified the entry must complete a minimum of full 10% of entry's total distance during the race (3 laps in case entry completes whole distance)!

Race:
Race will feature an extended starting grid - cars will be placed on grid in rows seperated by 20 meters distance between them to lower the probability of early incidents. Every entry is expected to be familiar with pitlane entry, exit and driver change procedure for error free pitstops.
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 30 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Entry which has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by doubling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 10 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 150 seconds penalty added to finish time (30s*2 + additional 90s).

Track and it's limits:
Due the low average width of the course it is important to point out about track limits - track is defined by paved surface (asphalt/tarmac/cobblestones) and 2 wheels have to be on it at all times! Drivers may not cut corners over grass and also may not run wide on grass when exiting turns with more than 2 wheels. If such event happens due a mistake, driver has to lift off throttle to make sure no advantage is gained. Fastest laps in both sessions will be checked for any violations while other drivers might be randomly checked during whole race. Best way to avoid any penalties is to stay fair!
There are serveral sections where leaving paved surface with all wheels is tolerated - glass patches which are marked with yellow and blue chalk arrows are a legal racing surface. All around the track there are posts on both inside and outside of turns - even if these have no legal use and they are just visual help to determine track limits, drivers still should avoid knocking them down.
With some help of community we named several turns and sections, which can also be used as orientation:

Cars and restrictions:
To level out performance of all available cars,an restriction table has been created - the used restriction method is voluntary air restriction in percents and added weight in kilograms. Each car has it's advantages and disadvantages, but overall deemed to have relatively equal performance after our limited testing.

Car setup limitations:

Slick tyres are not allowed!
Mods configs are not allowed to have rollcage, crashbars and lightbars - please select configs without these (illegal equipment)!

It is advised to test several cars before signing up to decide the best car for your or your team's performance! Cars have different handling characteristics, some might be slightly less competitive. Cars list and their full specifications data can be found in RG300KW spreadsheet.
Some cars still have WIP status.
It is possible to apply other cars from public mods list, please check this post below for link to car applications thread.
Drivers are responsible to use correct restriction during pre-event practice! Server will have the restrictions enforced in the last week of practice and during official event sessions via PiranMoto Car Limiter insim app.
DISCLAIMER: Race Green Events is not affiliated to any of these user created cars! This means that organization of this event cannot affect existance and quality of these cars. We monitor any updates and check for their effect on cars performance to decide if any alteration of restriction is needed.

Other info:
Blue flag behaviour - due long lap very rarely such occasion might happen. Even if the usual Race Green Events' rule of "you may not block lapping car's passing manouvre" is used also here,it is advised to try not to stay ahead of lapping car and let by in safe location before lapping pass is needed. Lapping cars still have to be very patient, wait for safe opportunity to lap and not force a pass in narrow turns.

Basic racing rules - we'll use as always basic rules of clean racing and judge incidents with common sense. It is advised to avoid any contacts in any situation to ensure clean and fair racing.

Rejoins - in case of time out, rolled or undrivable car it is permitted to rejoin the race. To ensure better visibility of race positions, the rejoined entry will receive back the completed laps as soon as possible - race administration will check the replay during race. If the timeout or telepit has happened before reaching 1st split of a lap,one lap will be deducted to avoid possible misuse!

Postrace action - after the distance has been completed,3 highest finishing cars are asked to take a place on a podium for post race media, located between tribunes on the left side of Tribunes backstraight (check track map above). After top3 have taken their positions and photos are made, all other competitors also may join the area besides podium for further photo sessions.

Chatting - is limited during the race session. Allowed are short communications like appologies, thanking for letting by or between drivers of same entry when deciding when to pit and make driver swap, allthough it is encouraged to use external voice chat application (Discord,Teamspeak, phone call or whatever suits best). Race Green Events can offer a private voice channel in it's discord server if needed.
Unneccesary conversations will receive warning first and if not stopped - entry will receive drive-through penalty.
Not competing observers may not use chat at all!

Skins - specific car skins are not required in this race, allthough it is highly suggested to have a skin that displays entry number on car's side. Feel free to use event's official full logo on your skins! Also skins must fullfill lfsworld skin upload requirements and drivers may not use skins they don't have rights to use - like private skins of others or other teamskins.

Name format - entry number (may not be colored black or dark blue) required in front of your registered name, number and name must be seperated by a space.

Event server - server is online,is set in practice mode and has an Airio for laptime tracking (due hexadecimal code, most mods laptimes cannot be shown on simple !top table). Airio can spectate connections with very high and unstable ping for safety reasons (stable connections even from Australia should not be affected). Server will be open for public use until race weekend. For private practice feel free to use the attached layout.
Server link (click2join): Race Green Events

Event will be held using the latest stable version of LFS (currently 0.7D),compatible older versions and compatible test patches are tolerated.

All information here can be changed,if so,notification will be posted about changes.

For the 2nd month in row there are 3 changes in cars list:

The MZG SEDAN has received APPROVED status in mods list, therefor is added to RandomCar cars lineup by default, despite finishing 3rd in the latest voting (and 2nd in previous voting). It is the 5th AWD car in the list and will start it's journey in the series with 16% air restrictor.

The winner of the latest voting is the relativelly light PIRAN FIREFLY 200 which will enlarge the already largest engine/drivetrain layout type FR (front engined-rear wheel drive) and due it's light weight it will receive additional weight worth 80kg. The voting was won by quite comfortable margin of 6 votes and reached the highest ever supporters count.

The mighty URC1 keeps winning races and we keep slowing it down - it will receive additional 20kg ballast to reach a total of 50%+160kg restrictor and weight.

Quote from NENE87 :about the website, maybe by default make the updated mods on front, that can motivate the modders to update the mod? Some mods are hidden befor public, these mods are in back and rarely rated or view...

That's a bad idea, you would only get tons of "updates" with one little "fix" just to push it up. And then should mods which are completelly done sink away?

I would rather see much more filters, sort options in website (not really needed ingame) to have better possibility to find mods with specific values.

Wow,didn't expect such chat here as usually the event activity ends with results, but nice to see some feedback and discussions to make the thread more alive.

Quote from Eric :That was a very entertaining race!

I hope seeing racing like this will inspire you when building tracks - Westhill's support roads have turned out great for racing as it's something else than just plain sterile courses. Maybe in future some track could receive a bit wider support/access roads and better transition between those and main track for something like LeMans style track. Just throwing out ideas. Shrug

Regarding track limits at RGE it's usually quite simple - track is defined by paved surface, where curbs are accepted extension and drivers have to keep at least 2 tyres on track at all times. In this case the car was barely in track limits and since mr. Lakūnas did not protest the move,it was assumed the move was clean and not reviewed.

In the recent years the GT3 class racing has become pretty much a standard in racing world and the popularity is increasing in both real world racing and simulators. This week also RTFR joined the GT3 club with it's 1st race using car from this class. However the track was not one which we could call a standard course for this class - it consisted by about smaller half of modern raceway and by bigger half - public roads. This turned out to be quite challenging when setting up the car. 31 drivers tried the challenge in qualifying, putting the Pochete in 2nd position in most attended cars chart of this event, however 3 left and did not take their earned spot on the grid, while another 9 retired and did not saw the chequered flag.

The winner of the race led just 3 laps and none of them fully, but at the end of the race he used his opponents pace reduction and with quite bold move took the race lead with 2 turns and finish straight left. With this Gábor joined the exclusive 3 race wins in row club - he is the 4th driver in RTFR XL history to achieve such winning streak. The hungarian broke the tie for 3rd most wins as he scored his 6th RTFR XL race win, setting also his 6th fastest lap of the race (tied 3rd most). It was also the 10th fastest lap of the race for Hungary, while he scored his own 14th top5 finish. The lithuanian driver with inconsistent name was the fastest in qualifying and scored his 6th pole position (tying Gábor for 3rd most),but the 35 lead laps were not enough to convert than into win,so he finished 2nd,which is his 9th top5 finish, still setting 8th closest finish in RTFR XL history. Rest of the field was over 30 seconds behind winner - best of the rest was A.Valta, who finished his 2nd RTFR XL race in 3rd position after a win in his 1st. V.Veloso returned to RTFR XL after not attending 23 races and repeated his best qualifying position 5th,but he progressed in the race and finished 4th which is 3 positions better than his previous best result. Despite the penalty,Mantas did not lose a position and finished 5th,scoring his 3rd top5 finish.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Westhill's support roads have become a regular site for racing in Race Green Events hosted series, but this was the 1st ever RTFR XL race using any part outside standard courses of Westhill. Only previous Westhill's non-standard track (the other half of International) was also the last non-standard track in this event, run on january of last year.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Even if it was possible to finish this race without pitwork with some fuel economy,no driver attempted that so the clock pitter mention goes simply to shortest legal pit time - 10.10 seconds were done by Thehemuli.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Seems like M.Kapal did not really care much about fast laptime in qualifying,so he started from quite low position - 27th (qualified 30th). But he gained a total of 14 positions in race and finished 13th.

VOD at Youtube:

With limitation of max 2 selections in row,Gábor was not eligible to select combo for next race,so it was relayed to 2nd place finisher, who already submitted his choise - in 4 weeks the 77th RTFR XL will be run with UFR at Rockingham's Sportscar configuration, but with slight edit - we will bypass the 1st chicane over turn 1 of the oval. With laptime of just over 1 minute it will be a 71 laps race. But next week we're back to normal RTFR version, which will be a quite fast one without running slick tyres. More info will be posted on the weekend as always.

Quote from nomen90 :great traction and stability.

Of course it has great traction and stability - it has downforce of a modern GTR car without even having a single element that provides it. That of course explains why front and rear wings produce no drag because they're simply not there, just by pure magic the car gets pressed down to road for extra grip! Tilt
