Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

2 weeks after the most attended event of the latest 14 months (which even caused a spin-off series) we went straight to the least attended event in latest 9 months. It was just a combination of several factors for this crowd drop - difficult car in even more difficult track (which kinda partially brought the car to it's roots - racing on unpaved surface),no championship to fight for and no promotion over livestream. 19 drivers qualified, but only 12 of them also dared to start the enduring race, which caused a total of 9 pitstops (the smaller half done by one driver however),10 of them held the torture through to see the chequered flag.

The fastest of the 10 finishers through the 31 laps was Unite, who had fair share of trouble early on,but he climbed back through the field to finish 1st,which is his 1st RTFR race win since 291st RTFR and 12th overall, tying A.Wiśniewski for 6th most wins,it was also his 71st top5 finish. R.Kardol set the fastest known laptime for this combo in qualifying, scoring his 15th pole position - that puts him in tie for 4th most pole positions with his teammate Gábor. He however had some suspension problems and had to pit for repairs, ending him in 2nd position with 4 seconds gap to winner - 77th top5 finish for the dutchman. During qualifying Michal set a milestone as it was his 100th RTFR qualifying session, but even more important was the milestone of his best ever RTFR finishing position - 3rd,one position better than previous best. It was also the 11th top5 finish and first since 277th RTFR. Arska finished 4th after leading a lap before his pitstop, that's his 20th top5 finish in 70th finish overall, his countryman Lerssi completed the top5 - his best previous finishing position was 11th.

Also in 2 weeks we will meet up in same place and same time for a simple non-championship RTFR and only in the weekend before it will be known what combo will be run then, only know fact is that it will be a slick tyres wearing car. But already next week RTFR server will be used for the RandomCar - 6th round will be held on a custom track, marking Layout Square's 1st ever usage in Race Green Events history. Full info and server will be set up friday which is 2 days earlier than usually to allow drivers get to know the track and report missing track markings if any found.

2 updates in cars lineup this time, one because of mod's update, other is a new voted car.

The Cammera 730 Turbo received an update, where both engine power and car's weight were changed - the restriction is corrected accordingly to keep the car at same performance, which will be monitored during upcoming races if the 10% air restriction is correct.

The new car which won the voting in our Discord server is XM-5 94 Turbo, which is a lightweight roadster based on a popular japanese car from 90ies. The car receives both weight and restriction,as the ruling is first to add weight until car reaches curb weight of 1100kg - the full balancing is 8% air restriction + 120kg added weight.

The short history of Westhill TT can be compared to the cars version of the event - also on the 2nd edition of Westhill endurance race with cars the attendance was low and also there just 4 entries saw the chequered flag. There were several tryers however, some of them tried more, some less, but still they were not able to finish the 2 laps run to get in race results. A total of 10 attempts to complete the 21.83km run were successful,4 of those were completed by event winner, each with different bike, remaining 6 were equally split between other 3 riders.

The defending champion returned also this year to defend the honor and he was not even properly challenged - his worst of 4 completed attempts using the slowest used bike was still 5 seconds faster than the best of the competition, however his 4th and last attempt set a time of 9 and a half minutes, averaging 137.8km/h through the course with his own built Chimera X1. That's 51 seconds faster than the best rival was able to do - Unite from S1dus team was the one to take 2nd position with his last try, running the historic GP250R. The finn completed the distance in 10 minutes and 21 seconds, averaging 126km/h,beating previous 2nd best time by just a half of a second. Despite 2nd attempt,Egor K's 1st try was his best and held 2nd position until late stage of the event, when it was pushed down to 3rd,also he set his best time with the Chimera. That's a good improvement compared to last year, where he finished 8th in results despite completing most attempts. The only other rider in results is Xëc,who tried 2 different GP bikes - his best result was with GP250R,completing course in just over 14 minutes, clocking average speed of 93km/h.

2nd best bike was Vulcan 998,which was used in Simox's 3rd run, just 2 seconds faster than GP250R,both bikes setting average speed of just over 130km/h,while event winner's 2nd attempt was made using the GP125 - that was his only attempt longer than 10 minutes. No other bikes saw an end of a run, even if several more were tried out - riders found out that the course is too challenging even for slower ones.

It's difficult to judge, what was the reason for the low interest - even if the event started at same time as BF1 League's final round, barely any of participants are seen in both of these events. Or was it the increased distance of a run,as this year 2 laps were to be completed instead of just one. Several bikes were not allowed to be used this year just to keep the speeds and difficulty level lower, which seemed to be the right choice. The 3rd edition of Westhill TT is currently under question mark,so let's wait and see what the future brings - if the event happens,it will be run just like in both previous editions - few weeks after the cars race around similar track.

Race Green Events thanks all riders for participation and guys behind the scenes for their input and efforts - voluntary testers and modders. As always everyone is welcome to share their experience from the event, either in form of text, pictures or videos! Also (even if that rarely happens) - we're awaiting winner's speach!

This tuesday the RTFR XL featured another bottom half car in the popularity table - XRT,a pretty much standard for front engined rear wheel driven sports coupe in LFS. Still the somewhat lower than average in last 2 years attendance was higher than car's all time average. Unfortunatelly the racing was not really action packed, still there were plenty of battles through the race.

The day went under the star of Mantas - he was the fastest in qualifying and led 2/3 of the race to finish 1st and collect the fastest lap of the race. Even if the performance wasn't really dominating,he still picked up all possible achievements for the 1st time in one race. It was already his 2nd RTFR XL race win,3rd pole position and the fastest lap of the race was his 1st. It was the 4th top5 finish for the lithuanian. The current rating and 2023 standings leader R.Kardol was the other driver to lead the race, but the pace was not enough and he finished 2nd for the 5th time this year, scoring also his 39th top5 finish, marking exact half of all RTFR XL races. Doni did not really put much effort in qualifying, but increased it heavily in race by finishing 3rd - that's a repeat of his best RTFR XL finish result and his 5th top5 finish. Nosle was the one who crossed the finish line 3rd,but was caught ignoring the pit exit line,so the 10 second penalty put him down to 4th position in final results, still it's an upgrade by 9 positions compared to his only previous RTFR XL finish. Mandula returned to the event after more than half a year break and did exactly the same as in the shorter RTFR version on his return - he finished 5th,which is his 7th top5 finish.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
There aren't much events using combos available for S1 licence owners anymore, this however was one of few. The fun fact in this is that previous S1 combo in this event series was also run on same Fern Bay configuration and all 3 previous S1 combos were run using LX4 car.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
10.07 seconds was the length of shortest work free, made by Michal, who had some slight competition though as it was just 0.06s shorter than 2nd best result.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
The 3rd place finisher Doni started from 17th position, which means a gain of 14 positions in the race - 10 more than 2nd best effort.

VOD at Youtube:

Next RTFR XL will be held using another standard LFS car - the only street legal real world car in our simulator known under the name Raceabout. The finnish made car will be run on the high speed configuration of Aston National, which will be the 2nd race held on this track - previous time was in 14th RTFR XL,where it was run with another real world car FBM. But that's something in 4 weeks, next week RTFR will be on the off-season mode,so the combo will be announced just on sunday, but the 2nd tuesday from now is the RandomCar day, where the colorful field will be run on custom layout at Layout Square.

This is already the 5th year of RTFR,where a specific standings are made, and the 2nd one where the year has been divided into 2 seasons. After 12 races the first of those is completed,so we're ready for a season recap. Even if compared to previous 2 years the attendance has sunk a little, still the most races had 30 or more cars on grid, averaging overall attendance at almost 33 drivers per round. Total count of participants through all 12 rounds was just 1 shy off 100. 6 different drivers managed to win at least one race, all of them finished in top9 of the standings.

RTFR 2023 Season 1 standings winner: S1DUS*GáboR
The hungarian made it 2 in row - the defending standings champion of 2022 S2 won also the next scored season and that without attending last round as the 1st position was practically secured. Gábor won a total of 4 races (twice as much as all 3 second most successful drivers),finished 2nd twice and 4th 3 times, taking also 1 pole position and 2 fastest laps of the race. The previous season also brought him 9 top5 finishes (despite being 2 rounds shorter),but his win count was just half as big.

Also the 2nd place owner did not attend last round of this season and still kept his position as it was almost practically secured. R.Kardol spent most of the season in chasing position - he finished in second position 5 times, another 2 races were completed in 3rd position, bringing home just a single race win - 4 times less than in previous season. The fastest driver this season was V.Lakūnas, who finished 3rd in standings only in last round overtaking previous 3rd place owner. He's fastest only because he scored pole position in more than half of season rounds (7 of 12) and also set most fastest laps of the race - 3. However he could convert the pace in only 2 race wins and 5 other podium finishes. The 2022 S1 standings winner did not attend a single round in previous season.

The list of race winners also inclue 4th place in standings A.Valta, who won 2 races, but did not attend last 3 rounds, effectivelly giving up the chance to finish 1st in standings. Fatal is another 2-time race winner this season,he however did not finish in top5 in any other round and finished 6th in standings. The lowest finisher in standings with a race win in baggage is Mantas, who won 11th race of the season, finishing 9th in standings.

Next 3 races count as off-season races as they will not score points to any specific standings besides the ever going 15-race rating. This gives the organisation the chance to go a little more experimental,so expect less standard combos as we have plenty of mods to try. However the RTFR XL scored season does not have any intermissions,so already on coming tuesday round 6 will be carried out in the tough Fern Bay - drivers however can take a "break" from this enduring series as only 10 best scores from 12 possible count.

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

If you mean the steering wheel that's drawn ingame in cockpit, then I have bad news for you - that's fixed to the specific car! If the car has 720° for example, you can only reduce it setup - steering tab, where you can reduce front wheels lock, which also reduces steering wheel's lock to lock rotation amount. Alternativelly you can increase (or decrease) the lock of your wheel in wheel's driver software to match it.

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

The entry level NGT car seemed to be a real crowdpleaser, probably due the combination with the relativelly easy track - the 2023 season 1 final race was also the most attended one of the year with 43 drivers qualifying for the race. Last time same number of drivers attended was april last year, when BF1 race at Blackwood also attracted 43 drivers, coincidentally also back then 1 spot of the 40 car grid was left free. The car felt like a classic LFS's NGT car, being just 1 second off XFR's pace,so it produced pretty much a pack racing as you can see in the broadcast.

After 5 races absence the returnee Fatal qualified himself on 7th place, advanced himself through the field early on and used the chance to slip in lead on lap 8. After the pass for lead he had the luck to have his closest oponents busy fighting and holding up each other,so the finn could lead the last 22 laps of the 29 laps race on the way to victory lane to score his 4th RTFR race win, clocking also the fastest lap of the race, which is also his 4th. Fatal increased his top5 count to 19 in the 42 finished races. Starting 2nd and finishing 2nd on paper looks like a boring race, but the lithuanian with changing names had a lot of positions switching action, most of it was even shown on broadcast - despite leading 5 laps,he had to settle for 2nd place finish,on the final lap repeating fastest lap of the race. That was his 7th fastest lap of the race and 18th top5 finish. Fnatic was the one who joined the positions switching during tha race,on lap 3 leading a lap in RTFR for the first time ever, but at the end he repeated his best finishing result of RTFR,set 2 weeks ago - 3rd,which is his 3rd top5 finish, however the 4th position in qualifying was 3 positions better than his previous best. Doni also joined the lead chasing pack, but could not make a lot of progress through it,finishing 4th - that's a repeat of his only other top5 finish of this season,14th top5 finish in total. The reigning Crashmas and 300km of Westhill champion Twincam closed the top5,earning his 2nd top5 finish in RTFR,best result of this season for him.

VOD at Youtube:

Even if this race did not provide any intrigue in battle for championship as it was effectivelly decided,it provided plenty of pretty much normal racing action with a lot of position shuffles, including for lead - 4 race leaders was the highest number outside oval since 284th RTFR. Since the season with scored standings is over now, there will be 3 RTFR races pretty much on oldschool style - no championships,no prizes,no broadcast and no info about next combo. All you can know is that we will keep the tyre type schedule as next race will be one of the road legal cars, which and where will be planned out just on the weekend before it. However it's well known what will happen next week - the next RTFR XL race will be held on Fern Bay's longest standard configuration and run with the good old XRT. However this weekend Race Green Events will offer the chance to show off the skills of all 2-wheeled racing fans - the 2nd edition of Race Green Westhill Tourist Trophy will be run on the sunday, make sure you don't miss out the chance!

Well,I have some feedback from making a skin for it - the windshield visor should also be mapped into skin file, currently it can be only white or colored with bodywork color in garage (which colors over the skin too). Also the sideskirt on skin mapping is much bigger than it actually is - the lower part is simply covered by grey stuff. And low priority suggestion - maybe add also rear wing end plates to skin.

Quote from adirany :Personally I think that releasing updates one by one is the right thing to do, especially when the team is so reduced.

And what do you think devs are doing now? Sitting in Bahamas and drinking cocktails out of golden cups?
Scawen has stated multiple times that their doing stuff in their own pace without pressure of release dates. This is how it is,accept it or leave. Sounds cruel but it is how it is.

Also I have to remind that we accepted terms and conditions when purchasing licence - we're buying access to this software as is without any guarantees of new additional features. Therefor all updates are technically a bonus!

Don't get me wrong - I'm deffinitelly not supporting stagnation,I would love to have the new lighting system, new tyre physics, the 1000Hz physics, the 2 new previewed environments, updated South City and all other environments, but the thing is - we cannot accelerate progress, and deffinitelly not with such discussions. The 0.7D[25] is the best version of LFS there has ever been, with way more possibilities that the one at the date of signup of any of us. Enjoy it,take the best out of it. I'm surely doing that as much as my time allows, are you?

After the race attention of organisation was drawn by a youtube video which supposed to show a great pass during this race - however the video was showing a blatant divebomb where pass was made hitting another car. If a driver cannot complete pass on inside of a turn without a contact where other driver gives more than car's width room for the passing car,it is not a valid pass! This is not full contact racing - if minor contacts will be tolerated if happened without intention and consequences, drivers should do best to avoid contacts and deffinitelly should not initiate those!

PENALTIES:
「DD」 tBug - receives 10 seconds added to finish time for pit exit line violation.
「DD」 tBug - receives 30 seconds added to finish time for multiple avoidable contacts and track limits violations (including pit entry). Future infractions will lead to disqualification or even race ban.

The fifth round of the new league went into the short history of this league with end of the domination of one specific car. Before this race no URC1 finished a race behind any other different car, this time all 4 URCs finished 5th or lower, including both previous winners using this car. This shows that the car has been slowed down to be at least a fast car and not a superiour one,we will keep monitoring car's performance in next rounds to decide if more additional weight will be needed. Regarding previous winners - RD2 went into history as the 1st driver to get drawn same car for 3 rounds. But one streak still has not been ended - still all 5 RandomCar 2023 rounds were won by mid-engined rear wheel drive car.

Besides the busy real world racing schedule, the GT3 driver Dennis found time to join also this league and went to victory with 1st try. The dane got drawn the Renault Turbo 5 inspired version of LFS's own XF chassis and qualified with it on outside of front row, making the pass for race lead already in 1st lap of the race - after leading all 14 laps he finished 1st with over 6 seconds gap over competition, which is 2nd highest margin of victory so far, being also the only driver to break 2min17s laptime mark in the race. J.Holmes also had his RandomCar debut this tuesday and also got drawn the XFT5. The briton was fastest in qualifying, but could not keep the race lead for long, still finished in 2nd position uncontested. Fast got drawn the LFS's own RB4 for the 2nd time, however could not finish as high as last time he got same car - he had to settle for 3rd place finish, still one position improvement between start and finish.

The current standings leader got drawn the not so fast Coquette and finished just 9th to lose bunch of points to his rival - Fast now trails by just 4 points in standings from his countryman. RD2 jumped into 3rd position in standings, now 12 points behind leader, closelly followed by previous 3rd position owner.

With 2 top5 finishers,Born to Race scored most team points in this round, cutting a decent chunk off S1dus' lead - the gap between these teams is 14 points. RGA scored 3rd most points in the round and extended their lead over rest of the teams, but lost ground to both leaders. Nations championship however starts to turn onesided - Lithuania scored 19 points more than closest rivals Finland and is now 69 points ahead. Bulgaria stepped into 3rd position and has practically no chances to advance higher. Despite not winning, the advantage of URC1 in manufacturers table has increased by 10 points and the Ultimate Road Car has a huge 40 points lead over the new 2nd place car XF Turbo 5. FXO was pushed down to 3rd position, just 1 point behind 2nd place.

With 6 draws for this round,URC1 has tied Imprezzive for most draws - 19 each. Talot was drawn 3 times for this round, however no driver attended. BZ30 Roadster was the 2nd car to get 6 draws for this round, however just half of them attended, one of them did not start. Interestingly after half of the season,4 of 5 LFS default cars have been drawn just 8 times, which is lowest value between cars that entered the season right from the beginning.

6th round will be held on a custom layout at the newest environment of LFS - Layout Square. This will be the 1st ever Race Green Events hosted event in this envoronment. The winner has submitted the layout, which will be refined to fit RGE's standards, also it will be properly tested to decide if it will be 9 or 10 laps race at next round - the submitted track requires over 3 minutes to complete a lap. Next week the RTFR server will be returned to it's original duties - the final round of the 1st of 2 scored seasons will come to an end, however the champion is practically decided. On the weekend full info about combo will be posted, expect a pretty close sprint racing for that! And for the 2-wheeled vehicle fans there are also good news - RGE will host the 2nd edition of it's Tourist Trophy challenge on sunday of next week! Info in our main forum section!

Last year we dared to host our 1st ever event that runs vehicles with less than 4 wheels - the time trial type event using bikes on the Westschleifenring circuit. Even if interest was not high,it was still an interesting challenge,so this year we gonna try again and run the event in same format. There are only 2 differences between the years - this year several high performing bikes have been removed from options list and there will be 2 laps around the track to complete instead of just a single one.

The track itself has not changed - still the same Westschleifenring, the simplified version of the annual 300km car race venue, but with addition of 2nd lap the distance of a run has been increased to 21.83 kilometers, which is expected to be completed in around 9 minutes for the fastest riders. A total of 28 different bikes are open for selection, ranging from a simple motorcycles to high performing superbike class machines, including some historic machines, mixxed up with bikes that are not really meant for road racing. Again - despite the performance differences between these machines, all what will matter will be the skill of a rider - slower machine will be earlier in finish without falls than faster one which spends a lot of time getting up from falls.

To help out riders to finish their runs,we will offer once again insim help - an application that will put your fallen bike back to wheels without repairing damage and if needed - also turn the bike 90°. This is to ensure realistic possibility of read bike riding - poeple can back on bike after simple falls and continue the run despite some bruises. Still it is highly suggested to everyone willing to participate to join the event server before actual event and have some practice, set up the bike[s] and get to know the track!

Timetable:
Sunday,11th June
16:30 UTC / 18:30 CET - start of 3 hours open track time trial mode
19:30 UTC / 21:30 CET - end of session,no new runs can be started, all riders on track can still finish their runs
* the shown CET time is current (summer) time - if not residing in CET time zone, always refer to UTC for correct time zone convertion!

Guidelines during the event:
* Server will be password protected and password will be posted in this thread. No signups required.
* Riders will be allowed to start their runs with approx. 30 seconds gap.
* At the start of the session all riders will be called out in connections order, after the order has been complete, riders have to request a run by clicking on host's name (Race Green Events) in connections list and type "requesting a run". Riders will be queued in requests order and administration will allow them to join track, riders will have approx. 10 seconds time to join.
* There is no limit how many runs a rider can take, however it can be limited by amount of other participants and their run requests.
* In case of a fall, riders can put up the bike on wheels with command ";flip" (semicole+flip),there will be 2 seconds delay between command has been typed and executed. An additional command ";turn" (semicole+turn) will turn the bike 90° to the left direction. Note that commands are available only when the bike is stationary!
* There are no restrictions in bike or it's setup usage, however slick tyres are strongly suggested. In final results rider will be scored with best time of the session and the bike the time was set with.
* It is expected riders are familiar with the track and the bike they have selected, make sure you have at least some practice before the event.
* As per standard LFS rules, touching movable objects will add 2 seconds penalty, false start - 30 seconds penalty. These penalties will have affect the result of the run.

Rules:
* In case a faster rider has cought a slower one,the slower rider has to act similary as under blue flag - rider may not block an overtaking attempt, while faster rider has to pass in safe manner.
* It is forbidden to change name during event - participants should select their name (the one you usually use and wish to be identified with) before start of the event.
* Absolutelly no stopping on track - if for some reason a rider cannot continue his run, spectate and request a new run when it's possible again.

Other info:
*Event server - server is online,is set in practice mode with pratice layout (no time trial start) and has an Airio for laptime tracking (due hexadecimal code, most mods laptimes cannot be shown on simple !top table). Airio can spectate connections with very high and unstable ping for safety reasons (stable connections even from Australia should not be affected). Server will be open for public use until event day. For private practice feel free to use the attached layout. Server link (click2join): Race Green Events
*Event will be held using the latest stable version of LFS (currently 0.7D),compatible older versions and test patches are tolerated.
*All information here can be changed,if so,notification will be posted about changes.

Exactly as the post above says - you have to lift throttle before the upshift. The reason is that FBM has sequential gearbox without ignition cut,so when you want to shift up during acceleration, the gears are locked up with each other due load and shift between gears cannot be done - you have to unload them by simply lifting throttle. Or pressing clutch, but that's not very effective and will heat the clutch up. I hope insight in the process will help more to understand.
