For the 2022 Season 1 finale a difficult combo was selected to provide a proper nerve-crackling challenge - a rear wheel driven race spec car without few of features normally built in race spec car, which made it very tricky to race, while trackside sausage curbs punishing drivers for their mistakes way more than simple walls would do. Still there were 40 drivers who qualified for the race and on the grid just the last row was left empty,so there were plenty of racers taking the challenge.
Gábor was the one,who addapted to this car best in this tuesday and took all the achievements from this race - he scored his 12th RTFR racewin, tying his teammate R.Kardol and A.Wiśniewski for 4th most RTFR racewins. It was also his 8th pole position,7th fastest lap of the race and reached a quarter-century top5 count. The season leader V.Laguckas finished 2nd to confirm his lead in standings also after final scored round for standings,it was also his 11th top5 finish. R.Kardol scored 3rd place in both sessions, scoring his 58th top5 finish, his teammate Unite finished 4th despite an attack from behind in 1st lap, that's the 57th time he finished in top5 here. Thehemuli repeated his both best achievements - 6th in qualifying and 5th in race results, scoring his 2nd top5.

With this the scored season 1 of this year is complete - next 6 RTFR races are set to be non-standings races, just like in old times, while combos might be a tick more experimental, season 2 of 2022 will start on 16th august. But next week the whole year long RTFR XL season will continue with race 5 of 12 - full info has been already posted! Also tomorrow the info for upcoming 300 kilometer race is planned to be posted, which is set to be 1st event in LFS where theoretically a full 40 car grid could consist of 40 different cars, which of course is quite unlikely.

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Seems like this time we raced a car that's still quite a construction site as it showed some unfinished features (some reports already made in mod's forum thread),one of those might have contributed to a big accident exiting 1st turn. This lead to another reminder of absolute no restart policy of these races - if something goes wrong, you have to deal with it! In worst case rejoin and make a chase run or use it as a practice. Every restart might lead to another incident, eventually leading to unfair situation to someone avoiding incident in abandoned racestart, being crashed out in accepted restart. Also the event proved that owning a real counterpart of the car that's replicated in our sim does not give one any advantage over others - none of the 2 attending MR2 owners did show any great results (rushing on streets does not contribute to racing skill obviously).
The used to be affordable mid-engined sports coupe race was won by Unite, who was the only driver to crack 2:51 laptime mark and that in both sessions. Despite having an opponent slipping by in 1st lap,he led the final 8 laps, finished almost 8 seconds ahead of fellow front row starter and leader of 1st 3 laps Nosle. Michal got lucky in the big mess exiting turn one and jumped in high position, eventually bringing him 3rd place finish.
Finale of the 2022 Season 1 points challenge is up next and it will be a difficult challenge - we'll use a car that's as rollhappy as the well known UFR,but features rear wheels drive and it will be raced on track famous for it's "sausages" - full details of this mandatory vegetarian race will be posted in the weekend, while in 2 weeks the RTFR XL will have it's 2nd ever rallycross race. Also this race was a little prologue to RGE's next big event - 300km of Westhill 2022,a race using TBO class street legal cars on support roads of Westhill, where the actual track will be 3 times longer timewise. If cutious, here's a little HINT!
Wrong - that was always the case. What's new with mods is that if you change car,it's selected with default colors no matter what was selected before. The color selection memory still works with standard cars though.
4 weeks ago we tested a good candidate to match LFS's STD (GTi) class, this week we'll step one class up and test a car that's close to be on par with LFS's TBO class - the so called "poor man's Ferrari",which is just a sixpack heavier than XRT and delivers about same power as the original TBO cars, but due having the engine mounted practically above driven wheels,it will have the advantage when exiting turns. Why exactly this car? Because I have one of these and of course - because I can! As the testgound we'll have a long time unused track - almost 6km long layout in Westhill with almost 3 minutes laptime!
2 weeks after the heated tempers chaos race we cooled down with a slowest original LFS RWD car on a quite long track. That however brought drivers with similar skill closer together and of course brought plenty of battles through out the field, including some paint trading - again no reports were made,so whatever happened, seems to be judged as racing incidents. From organizational side there was again something that does not seem right and that has been repeated irregulary - someone changed the name before the race to start from back of the grid. This can be considered as unsportsmanlike conduct as everyone should take the grid position they earned in qualifying. If this trend will keep repeating,a new ruling regarding this will be added.
The winner of previous RTFR race using the same car returned to victory lane also yesterday, becoming the 3rd driver to score an XRG race winning streak - Upsas started from outside of front row, blasted by the polesitter and after some position swapping through first few turns the lithuanian secured leading position and kept it for rest of the race to score his 2nd RTFR racewin and 7th top5 finish. R.Kardol started directly behind racewinner and also was able to improve the qualifying position during the race - 2nd place finish after some battles is his 57th top5 finish. Unite was able to set the fastest lap in both sessions, scoring his 9th pole position and 21st fastest lap of the race, but single lap pace was not enough during 9 laps race to finish higher than 3rd - 56th top5 finish for him. The freshly baked 10 race rating leader Fatal finished 4th losing a position compared to qualifying, rounding up his top5 finishes count to 10. Top5 was closed by rather rare guest Mantas, who scored his 3rd top5 finish from 4 tries.

The standard RTFRs are making one week break, but action should not make a break - another edition of RTFR-CCCC will be held with some mod from the list, which and where is yet to be decided. In 2 weeks the 2022 season 1 of RTFR scored standings will finish with 10th round - what will be raced and where, you might get a clue from the broadcast, but full info will be posted as always in the weekend before the race. Also the combo for next RTFR XL has been submitted - it will be the 2nd ever rallycross race of RTFR XL! Just like the 1st RX race it will be held using LX car, this time the slower one caring the number 4 in it's name and also we'll switch to Blackwood this time, the combo will be a repeat of 161st RTFR won by Dzidoris (results few posts below info),the XL race will be 73 laps long however.
* public cars testing on last year's layout is already in progress, visit our Discord server's Westschleife-Event channel and resd pinned messages for cars list (30+ cars balanced around LFS TBO class) and server info!
Fun fact - the turbo version had never left hand option,as there was no turbo in Europe in this car. US however got a downgraded turbo version with less power (thanks,California!),but who wants to count that?
