Got some rage after a race?
Are you mad to someone?
Want to put your anger on someone to see his car upside down?
Want to release some steam while racing?
Or you are just naturally aggressive driver but all events too soft for you?

Well,here is your solution,because
This is CRASHMAAAS !!!
the 14th annual X-mas derby event 2024
Thursday, 26th december, 18:00 UTC / 19:00 CET / 20:00 EET

The end of year is time for many traditions in many cultures. The simracing culture around the online racing simulator Live For Speed has one that goes back to year of 2011 - the year when the very first event of it's series took place on 26th december with 18 crashhappy people. 13 years later the number of crashhappy people rised up to 62,breaking records for non-endurance events attendance. So should we stop while we're at all time highs? Not happening - we're keeping the tradition alive until the last car has been recycled into tin cans,so for the 14th time...

Race [un]Green Events presents: the chance to take your 140 horsepower rear wheel drive XR GT and don't feel sorry if you happen to destroy it - because this is an event where you have a risk to get your car finished before crossing the finish line. The event will have only few basic rules regarding behaviour on track, otherwise - feel free to impress your opponents physically, divebombing and P.I.T. maneuvers more than welcome! Event will consist from different parts - qualifying, where each driver just sets his laptimes to decide starting places, heats in 2 or 3 levels, where the fight starts to get physical for the chance for final, the final, where best will be decided, battle royale where only event winners can race and a bonus run, where everyone will get a final chance to let out rage on masses!

Fern Bay is and stays the LFS true classic,so it seems we will never leave this place! Bullring V3 is still the place to be,also this year we'll use the very same layout as several years before and probably few years after.

The track surface is 99% grass (not that the 1% of tarmac would make much difference anyway),one lap is 330 meters long and width variates from 10 to 20 meters and it even has a slight elevation! Layout file can be found as attachment from one of previous year's threads and in server, feel free to have practice runs to be familiar with track or just store the layout for own needs.

Now some information about the parts of this event:

Qualifying:

The hotlap qualifying will be used here. Every driver will have 1 outlap and 2 timed hotlaps, the best lap counts as per standart LFS qualifying. The order will be decided by connection list - from top to bottom, late joiners will have a chance for their run after initial order. Each driver will receive 2 simple commands from race administration:
[drivername] - join - driver joins and stops his car right before entry of track (right before the yellow line)
[drivername] - go! - driver enters the track for his qualifying run
To avoid any delays and make situation fair for everyone, tyre warming is forbidden (except on direct way from spawn spot to waiting place) and drivers must enter track not earlier and not later than on "go!" command.
Everyone else is expected to stay in spectators until called for his run! To speed up things,we will run 2 cars on track at same time. Track is just over 20 seconds long, this means cars will have around 10 seconds between them,so noone should disturb other driver normally. But in case someone spins and loses a lot of speed,he is expected to allow other driver to pass in case he is near behind!
Qualifying will determine starting order for most of runs!

Preliminary runs:
If there are more than 48 attenders, the event will start with preliminary runs - best 20 drivers from qualifying will qualify for quarter final automatically, rest will have to earn their spot through the 1st level of heats. Everyone beyound qualifying position 20 will be divided into 4-6 heats (depending on drivers count - aiming for ~8 drivers per heat),best 2 will qualify for quarter final directly, rest will be divided into 2 relegation runs to battle for remaining quarter final spots.
> Participants: Everyone who qualified outside top20
> Heat length: 6 laps
> Relegation length: 4 laps

Quarter final:
If there are 48 or less attenders, the event will start with quarter final heats,if there are more than 48 attenders, this will be the 2nd level of heats with 42 participants (6 heats with 7 drivers per heat). Top2 finishers will advance directly to semi final, rest will be divided into 2 relegation runs to battle for remaining 6 semi final spots.
> Participants: 42 best drivers (top20 qualifyers + 22 best from preliminary heats)
> Heat length: 8 laps
> Relegation length: 5 laps

Semi final:
Best 18 drivers from previous heats level will be divided into 3 heats with 6 drivers per heat. Top2 finishers will earn their spot in final, remaining 12 drivers will have to battle through the last chance run for 4 final spots.
> Participants: 18 best drivers from quarter final heats
> Heat length: 10 laps
> Relegation length: 6 laps

The final:
The final is the run where the event official winner will be decided in a 20 laps long heat! The starting order will be decided partially from heats and qualifying - all 3 semi final heat winners will start from front row (order determined by qualifying results),all 3 heat 2nd place finishers will start from 2nd row with same ordering, last chance run qualifyers will be ordered just by qualifying results.
> Participants: 10 best drivers from semi final heats
> Heat length: 20 laps

Battle Royale:
This run is for This is Crashmaaas !!! overall winners only! All the past event winners (including the new one) are set in the short 6 laps exhibition battle to sort out between themselves who is the best without any outside influence! Starting order - random, because the real champion does not care about grid position!

The Bonus run:
It's the ultimate carnage - everyone in server will be able to take part in this 20 lap run,the best part - starting order will be random,so you could only blame LFS randomizer for a bad starting position. As usually bonus run will have some new layout additions, some a bit experimental, some pretty much classic, some might put you out of race, some will help you to put others out.
As always the official part of the event ends with finish of Bonus run,but the afterparty will continue as long there are crashhappy drivers in server - 10 lap races on the Bonus run track just for fun, where we will allow all cars (including mods) and remove password of server!

Even this is a almost rule-free event on track while racing, the event format asks some tough admining,so everyone is expected to behave in server and follow admin's instuctions and these guide lines:

Starting of a run:

Everyone will be simply gridded in default formation - 1st position is on left side,2nd in middle and 3rd - on right side of each row.
Make sure you don't jump the start as LFS will either give you DT/SG penalty or even spectate you - penalty will be replaced by 1 lap penalty, while spectate will mean that your heat is over!

Racing rules:
Everyone is expected to follow clean racing rules... Yeah,right... This is crashmaaas! There are only these basic rules:
1. No wrong way driving - just anti-clockwise direction on track! In case you get spun heading wrong way, driver is expected to turn his car to right direction on full steering lock or reverse and make the J-turn.
2. No standing on track or massive slowing down - except the car is in undrivable condition/position,in that case feel free to leave your car as an extra obstacle for others and hope for someone's help.
3. No disturbing on non-finished drivers after finishing himself - once you cross the line to finish the heat, avoid any contacts with cars still running.
4. No rejoining during run - if the car is undriveable, rolled or outside the track, the run is over!
5. Have fun! (also a mandatory rule Tongue)

NOTE: After having some incidents in previous years, special attention on rule #3! If you finish your run,you may not interfere others in any way! Serious infractions will lead to disqualification. Also 2nd rule is ignored more and more,so repeated violations might receive ban from this and other RGE events. Let's keep it cool and fair for everyone!

Server behaviour rules:
  • follow the instructions of admins
  • no spamming in chat (few known spammers might be quickly kicked if they don't behave)
  • no insulting others in any way (other than crashing them while in a official run)
  • join only when allowed
  • no voting for restart/end/qualification
Server is online for practice:

Race statistics / RTFR XL .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated during the week)

* PENALTIES :
RGˆRony - receives 5.06 seconds penalty added to his finish time for minimum pit time violation.

Luc (LFSW: kjio) and Perret (LFSW: Stheal) - are disqualified from race results and receive 3 months ban from Race Green Events organized events for dangerous and careless behaviour during the race. If you're not interested into taking part in organized competition, simply don't join it,but if you're becoming a moving obstacle for people who are racing,we will help not to join! Ban length just 3 months because both are relativelly new users and we still have a hope they can learn the spirit of online racing.

- - - - - - - - - -

The season finale of RTFR XL came without big intrigues about fights for high season standings positions as top3 are well spread out in points count, but a car that is similar to LFS's own TBO class produced it's own intrigues for results in the specific race. With it's relativelly narrow tyres, the SLX180 TYPEX forced drivers to take care of tyre temperatures, causing a bit variable pace through the field - some where getting faster, some slower, while everyone had the challenge of tricky fast chicane 47 times during the race - however just 11 completed it all 47 times. With 29 drivers this was over average attendance of this season and 3rd highest number of the year.

Only a single driver has won 3 RTFR XL races in row twice - Botsi did such streaks in each 20ies and 30ies of the event. Now he's joined by his teammate Gábor in this achievement as the hungarian kept his latest winning streak alive this tuesday to score the 2nd 3-in-row. In qualifying he was the first to beat 1:37 laptime mark to score his 15th pole position, during the race he led all laps until his pitstop and last 5 laps after his closest rival's pitstop,to score his 13th RTFR XL race win - with this count he is also in the longer version the leader of most wins chart, breaking the tie with other teammate. The fastest lap of the race was his 14th and the top5 finish - his 23rd,while the 17th race win for Hungary puts the country above Lithuania in most successful countries ranking. 14 seconds apart in finish,R.Kardol scored the 2nd place finish as the only relativelly close competitor for race win after leading 13 laps, scoring also a record extending 52nd top5 finish. With early pitstop,RD2 found good strategy for this race - he started from 10th position and worked his way to 3rd in finish to score his best result in RTFR XL as his only other try resulted in 18th position, repeating also his country's best finishing result. Adam's 2nd place in qualifying was his and his country's best result, however he lost 2 positions during the race, finishing 4th,which is just repeated best result and 2nd top5 finish. Nosle qualified 5th and finished 5th to score his 2nd top5 finish out of 6 tries.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Since the last race with RB4 in june 2021,only two TBO (PL200) class cars has been run in RTFR XL - XRT has been used twice and FXO once in these 3.5 years. This car is now the 3rd car of same cars class in this timeframe - obviously not a popular choice.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Despite not being the fastest in pits,Unite still receives the honor of being Clock pitter - he had 10.06 seconds long work free pitstop, while there were another 3 drivers with faster or as fast pitstops, however all of them refuelled the car.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Unite got himself also here with his name - with rather weak qualifying and good progress in race, the finn improved himself by 13 positions from 23rd position, one more than driver finishing directly ahead.

VOD at Youtube:

The combo of january race will be selected by R.Kardol for 3rd year in row - he'll have some time to select as next RTFR XL race is planned late january. With this the RTFR XL is done for this year, only one normal RTFR left (on coming tuesday),while other activities are still ahead from RGE - on sunday the 22nd december the 14th season of AWS will be launched in Blackwood, make sure you don't miss out the action by signing up - all information can be found in AWS forum section! But 4 days later on the usual date of 26th december we'll held another edition of crowd favourite crash party - full information about it will be posted this weekend, while regulars won't find out anything new (same time, same place, same rules).

Just few notes about the car - not sure how it was with 180SX,but both 1st gen Eclipse and 2nd gen MR2 I owned had their popups opening and closing much faster. Also this mod has sunroof opening, however I would suggest to put that animation to other option instead together with headlights.
All-Wheel-Drive Winter Series 2025 - information

The winter is coming,in northern part of Europe it means snow and slippery road conditions as a result of snowing. What's the best way to have fun in this cold season? Pack out your all-wheel-drive car and go to a lonesome icy road or frozen lake! This is how the original idea of this league has born - take LFS's both all-wheel-drive cars, use modified road sign "Slippery road" as logo, plan a callendar to have a nice variety of racing experience and here we go - it's time for:

All-wheel-drive Winter Series 2025

At the end of the december,Race Green Events will start the 14th season of it's longest running yearly league - the one where only all wheel driven cars are used and the one where very different track types are used. Last 2 seasons produced repeating champions - in both 2023 and 2024 overall champions scored their 2nd AWS drivers championships,so the league is still in search of it's 12th different series champion. Or 3rd 2-time champion - or maybe even 1st 3-time champion. With increasing number of low power AWD cars in LFS's mods list,we can run more mixed surface rounds without fear of ending up with tyre overheating torture races,so this season half of the rounds will be run as part of Cross Challenge, while the real tyre overheating torture will take place in South City.

Season starts at the end of year in Blackwood, where Blackwood RXGP will be the 1st of 3 Cross Challenge rounds, this season running with the slowest car ever in the particular round - the 103 horsepower Prodigy AWD might sound easy to run, however everyone will be tasked to pull out of the car everything to be fast on mixxed surface track. Once again South City will be ground for highest powered car of the season - this season it is an Adda once again, but a very different car hailing from different era. The 610 horsepower V10 engine of Adda AR-Eight V10 can accelerate the rather heavy car quickly, however the road tyres will force drivers to take care in turns to bring the car home after 28 laps around Town Course.

Both middle rounds of the season will take place in Westhill - first we will return to dusty 600 meter oval, which is once again set to be rounded 100 times in Green 100. The weapon of choice is a car well known from RandomCar - Imprezzive B2,a 345 horsepower 2-door sedan hailing from Japan. Westhill Street Cup has been run for 8 seasons with RB4,this year we decided to give the car a break and bring back car originally designed for rallycross - XF EGTR-RX AWS Spec has been updated once again, losing some power and gaining some battery size, still the range is about half a lap short of race distance,so drivers will have to make some calculations to use energy wisely around the 10 kilometer Westschleifenring.

Last 2 rounds brings the season in final stretch as championships should be decided in these - the only unchanged AWS round will be run as 5th round this year. Winter 200 as always will be run with FXR around Kyoto's Oval for 200 kilometers - cooperation with other drivers is not an option, but a need for good results. Best place to end the winter season is in warm tropical island - Fern Bay will welcome AWS drivers for the last round in it's Rallycross circuit, run with a K-car type Chorus Attendanze XT-Z 4R,which last season produced plenty of excitement despite having just a 660 cubiccentimenter engine with 63 horsepower.

AWS once again will be run on sundays, however an unexpected change in LFS calender forced us to change originally planned start time for rounds 2 to 4 to avoid clash between 2 leagues - these 3 rounds will be started 1 hour earlier than others in their original start time of 18:30 UTC. The season starts at the end of old year and will keep the usual bi-weekly schedule to finish at the first sunday of march. Once again 4 individual awards are awaiting for their new holders and 2 team/nations awards where everyone can help their team or nation for better results - should be motivation for most to take part in AWS 2025!

Series schedule:
22.12.2024. 18:30 UTC - Round 1 - Blackwood RXGP (PROA @ BL Rallycross, 34 laps / 62 km)
05.01.2025. 17:30 UTC - Round 2 - NewYear City Challenge (AAEV @ SO Town Course Rev., 28 laps / 88 km)
19.01.2025. 17:30 UTC - Round 3 - Green 100 (IMPB @ WE Dirt Oval*, 100 laps / 60 km)
02.02.2025. 17:30 UTC - Round 4 - Westhill Street Cup (XERA @ WE Westschleifenring 2024*, 2*5 laps / 2*53 km)
16.02.2025. 18:30 UTC - Round 5 - Winter 200 (FXR @ Kyoto Oval, 67 laps / 200 km)
02.03.2025. 18:30 UTC - Round 6 - Jamaican Trophy (CAX4 @ Fern Bay Rallycross, 29 laps / 59 km)
* Custom layouts available as attachments

Each round will have a specific info and discussions thread in this forum section with all information of the round!
After round 5,no new sign-ups will be accepted. In last round only drivers received at least one point in standings will be allowed to participate!

Timetable for rounds 1;5 and 6:

- 20 minutes of qualifying
19:00 UTC / 20:00 CET / 21:00 EET - race start

Timetable for rounds 2;3 and 4:
17:30 UTC / 18:30 CET / 29:30 EET

18:00 UTC / 19:00 CET / 20:00 EET - race start
18:25 UTC / 19:25 CET / 20:25 EET - race 2 start (round 4 only)

Special notes on custom cars:
Some custom cars carry elements in their downloaded package configurations which are not deemed suited for racing in our events (safety car/police lights). Using such are forbidden and in case of breach driver will receive penalty for unsupported equipment. The forbidden configurations are:
* AAEV - Police

Special notes on qualifying:
* In rounds 3 and 5 hotlap qualifying will be used, this means there will be no specific lenght of qualifying session, every driver will run alone and have outlap and 2 hotlaps. Qualifying order will be determined by points standings - the highest ranked driver will start his qualifying run last, lowest - first. Race start will be approx. 10 minutes after qualifying.
* If there is no max allowed grid (40 cars),Drivers Championship top 10 drivers will be allowed to start from end of the grid if came late and missed qualification - noone else will be allowed to start without qualifying. In round 1 this top 10 will be taken from last season's final standings.
- To qualify for the race drivers have to set a laptime during qualifying session within 112% of best laptime of the qualifying session. This does not affect championship's top 10 drivers as they may start the race without qualifying or with laptime outside 112% of best laptime.

Championships:
AWS Drivers Champion - awarded to a driver with the most points scored through all 6 rounds, including attendance bonus points
AWS Cross Challenge Winner - awarded to a driver with the most points scored through 3 rounds run in rallycross tracks (rounds 1; 3 and 6)
AWS Oval Trophy Winner - awarded to a driver with the most points scored through 2 rounds run in oval tracks (rounds 3 and 5)
AWS Rookie of the Year - awarded to a driver, who hasn't started a single AWS race before this season, with the most points scored through all 6 rounds, including attendance bonus points (award will not be given out if less than 2 rookies have finished at least one race through season)
AWS Teams Champion - awarded to a team with the most points scored through all 6 rounds (team will score finishing points from it's 2 highest finished drivers and all round bonus points)
AWS Nations Cup Winner - awarded to a nation with the most points scored through all 6 rounds (nation will score finishing points from it's 2 highest finished drivers and all round bonus points)

In all championships - in case of a tie, higher rated will be driver/team/nation with highest finishing position,if equal - it's amount,if equal - second highest position etc. If all finishing positions happen to be equal, higher rated will be selected using same system from qualifying results. If they also happen to be equal then as a tie-breaker will be used last round finishing position. In case a tied driver had a disqualification in one or more rounds,it counts as a primary rating lowering factor, when deciding tiebreak.

Points System:
Finishing points:
1st - 16 points
2nd - 14 points
3rd - 12 points
4th - 10 points
5th - 9 points

1st - 8 points
2nd - 6 points
3rd - 5 points
4th - 4 points
5th - 3 points
6th - 2 points

Attendance in 5 rounds - 2 points
Attendance in 4 rounds - 1 point
* Attendance counts if a driver has started the race (crossed the start/finish line from grid on own power)

Rules:
We will not make a mile long rule book that noone will read completely anyway,so we will rely on common sence of competitors to behave and follow the basic Rules of Clean Racing. There will not be an admin in server who will specifically observe drivers' behaviour during the race. If any incidents reported/protested,we will take individual approach to each of them to decide best resolution or punishment if needed.

Basic guidelines as a reminder:
> Blue flag - you may not deny/block a passing manouvre of laping car and try a repass right after it. In qualification it means - stay off racing line and don't disturb drivers on hotlap.
> Shortcuts - 2 wheels on track at all times. Track is mostly marked by white lines, rumble strips or at least defined by paved surface, while also curbs count towards track. Overtaking outside track limits (for example in Kyoto oval on apron) counts as illegal and will be penalized in case of protest.
> Contacts - have to be avoided at all costs! With closed wheels cars bumpdrafting is not forbidden, but in case of any reported incidents it will be treated as intentional contact,so everyone has to make sure that he knows what he is doing!
> Pit exit - allthough there will be no mandatory pitstop in this league, pit exit lines will have to be respected! Everyone caught crossing pit exit lines with more than 2 wheels will receive 10 seconds penalty added to finish result. In round 5,which is held in oval track also pit entry must be respected - driver have to enter pits on apron before final turn.
> Chatting - it's not completely outruled, but still drivers are expected to concentrate on racing. In case of too much chatting while ignoring messages asking to cease chatting,a penalty may be given. In case of any abusive/offensive language a penalty will be given! Non competing observers may not use chat at all!
> Lags - if there are any connection issues, driver will be asked to improve (close internet using programs). If driver will be considered as dangerous due to unstable connection,he will not be allowed to participate.
> Button clutch - is forbidden! Manual clutch is allowed only in combination with axis clutch. Everyone caught using it will be penalized for unsportsmanlike behaviour with increased penalty for every next offence.
> Hacks/cheats - if used, you will not race with us. Ever. As simple as that.

Possible penalties:
> WARNING - any minor infraction that needs to be noted without penalty. Warned driver might receive bigger penalty for other infractions.
> 10s added to finish time - minor infractions, like illegal passing, pit exit line violation, chat misconduct.
> 30s added to finish time (1 lap penalty in rounds 3 and 5) - medium infractions like causing avoidable incident[s] without serious consequences or unsportsmanlike behaviour, illegal passing, unsupported equipment.
> 60s added to finish time (1 lap penalty in round 1 / 2 laps penalty in rounds 3 and 5) - medium infractions like causing avoidable incident[s] with consequences to other drivers (like affecting damage, multiple position loss) or unsportsmanlike behaviour.
> Disqualification for 1 or more rounds - heavy infractions, multiple incidents, unsportsmanlike behaviour. After serving disqualification, driver will automatically carry a "warning" for the rest of season.
> Series exclusion (including ban for any other events run under Race Green Events control) - serious infractions like intentional/revenge wrecking, event sabotage and any other malicious act.

This week it was time for return of one of the LFS's own Catherhams - the less powered LX4 was on the menu for racers, which is usually a decent challenge on racing circuits. However once again things were spiced up with track selection - we run a track that has a lot of similarities with Tunnels configuration, alternativelly also called Scawen's track, however under name "Central Road Course 3" it runs in different direction and uses other way round the International circuit's garages, adding additional challenges on the way. With 32 drivers this was a repeated attendance count from previous LX4 race and well above this season's average attendance, repeating 2nd highest attendance number of the season.

Just like the season, also this race went under A.Valta's name - he was the one to beat and despite tries of the competition,he still regained fastest time in qualifying to score his 11th pole position in RTFR. Only cars he saw ahead during the race were backmarkers waiting to be lapped - the finn truly led every single meter of the 64 kilometer race to score his 10th RTFR race win, becoming the 9th driver with double figure wins count. Additionally he set a convincing fastest lap of the race to score his 11th and added 29th top5 finish to his stats - all this leads him to be unreachable in season standings, clinching the 1st place in those with 1 race still left. Gábor this time had to settle for 2nd place in both sessions, also pretty much unchallenged from behind - 70th top5 finish for the all time success ranking leader. Man with all time most top5 finishes R.Kardol added another one from this race - he had to work a bit to regain the 3rd position in the results, adding 97th top5 finish in the list. Unite finished 4th to score his 90th top5 finish and to make top5 results same in both sessions,Nosle regained his earlier lost 5th position and scored his 4th top5 finish.

Next week we'll do some "extra work time" - it's time for the last RTFR XL race of the year. The 96th RTFR XL will take place on the Caribbean island of Jamaica and in it's circuit known as Fern Bay. The selected car for this race is very similar to LFS's TBO class performance - SLX180 TYPEX and it will be run in customized version of Fern Bay Green configuration, which uses the extra looping in 1st sector and alternate last turn. Full information about the race will be posted tomorrow! In 2 weeks also normal RTFR will have it's season finale - even if without intrigue about top position in standings, still the race should be interesting - some info about the combo as always was mentioned in broadcast of the latest race.

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

After racing many high power mod cars, the car that used to be fastest aids free car in LFS might seem a bit 2nd tiered now,but it still did pose plenty of challenge for many this tuesday in Rockingham. It was only the 2nd FO8's visit to Rockingham in RTFR,but this exact combo was already known for many drivers - it was part of V8 Racing League back in 2017 and more recently run in other series on a tuesday. Since this car has it's history in VERL,it's interesting that a total of 7 VERL race winners were present in this race, including 3 series champions (one however won the title with other car than FO8). 24 drivers qualified for this race, setting a number below this season's average - a proof that the combo was quite difficult, another proof of that is that in the rather short 30 minutes race, almost half of the field were lapped on a circuit with laptime just above 1 minute.

For the last FO8 VERL champion Gábor this race turned out to be joining and picking up achievements as he did not have real competition this week. Being a defending 3-time RTFR FO8 race winner,he was the main favourite to score the 4th one in row, tying Botsi's 4 win total count in races with FO8. That was not the only Botsi's record Gábor tied this week - his 34th RTFR pole position ties the all time most also in this category. Additionally it was Gábor's 38th race win,34th fastest lap of the race and 69th top5 finish. Also the race for 2nd position was rather short and single sided - A.Valta was the unchallenged runner up of this race,2nd place finish is 8th top5 finish for the current season standings leader and 28th in total. Highest position where there was some proper fight for position was 3rd - taken by winner of previous race TJ,who found a position between start and finish to score his 13th top5 finish, closelly followed by another VERL race winner Unite in 4th position, who scored his 89th top5 finish. The VERL champion of 2019 Dzban found a lot of struggles this time - due several mistakes he fell from 3rd starting position (his best RTFR qualifying result, improvement by 4 positions) to 5th place finish, which he still had to regain - repeating his only previous top5 finish.

VOD at Youtube:

The RTFR server currently is set up with combo of next RTFR XL for laptime testing purposes - the combo is SLX180 TYPEX @ FE Classic Modified (FE2X/F25),please join at possibility and help to find out the best possible laptime for distance calculation, the race itself will take place in 3 weeks. In two weeks the penultimate round of this season's RTFR take place with a challenging custom combo - more info as always in broadcast, full info will be posted only in weekend before the race. In one week there are currently no plans for tuesday, however we might still come up with some online activity,so stay tuned!

Race statistics / RTFR XL .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated during the week)

After a break of just over 1.5 years, the slowest LFS standard car made it's return to RTFR XL and that for the 7th time in event, putting the car in sole 2nd position in most used cars chart. The track however made it's debut - it's the 1st of all short South City configs to be used in this event and despite it's 2 kilometer lap length,it presented a challenge every lap as the downhill entry to the tricky chicane complicated things, especially if running in bunch.

This was one of the situations, where combo selector used his choice to be on top of the game in the race day. Gábor won the previous race and kept the performance practically unchallenged also in this one - even if the gap of 0.12s does not sound big for a qualifying lap,for the short lap it's still very decisive and Gábor scored his 14th RTFR XL pole position. During the first lap he saw closest rival right beside him,but eventually dropped him and kept his focus through all 73 laps he led to score his 12th RTFR XL race win, tying all time most, previously set by R.Kardol. Having more pole positions, the success of yesterday puts the hungarian on top of all time success ranking, where he added also the 13th fastest lap of the race to his stats, breaking into sole leading position in this chart,22nd top5 finish besides all this might sound as a small achievement. With 18 seconds gap to winner, best of the rest was previous success ranking leader R.Kardol, who still leads the most top5 finishes chart - his 2nd place finish yesterday was the 51st one of those. The late night driver from Singapore improved his both best results by a position in this race - Sean was 2nd in qualifying, but lost a position during the race to finish 3rd,scoring his 4th top5 finish. Current rating and standings leader Unite joined late in qualifying, setting rather low result in session, but rallied through field to challenge for 3rd position late in the race, but unsuccessfully and he had to settle for 4th place finish, which is his 30th top5 finish. The 5th place driver of the day was Thehemuli, who was in this position in both sessions - that's 4th top5 finish for him in this year,5th overall.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
No driver has been able to set more than 3 winning streaks in RTFR XL until this race - with 2nd win in row,Gábor started his 4th winning streak. In 4 weeks he has a chance to extend the current one to 3 wins, which would tie Botsi's record of most 3 or more race win streaks.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
There's no recorded situation where this honor was shared between 2 drivers - two finns had a pitstop time of 10.11 seconds,so Unite and Thehemuli are co-clock pitters in this race. Interestingly another finn managed a perfect 10.00,however just with a 2nd try (where he needed only 8.7 seconds to avoid penalty).

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
With low performance in qualifying and 4th place finish, there are no doubts about field rusher this time - Unite had a gain of 12 positions between start and finish, while 2nd best progress was just 1/3 of his.

VOD at Youtube:

Both top2 finishers have selected combos for max allowed 2 times this year,so the selection was relayed to 3rd place finisher, who still has not submitted a valid selection,so we have to wait for info of season finale for a while. Next week normal RTFR will return with one of the slick tyre cars, full info about the race will be posted this weekend.

Quote from MRc Michal via RGA discord :Event: 345th RTFR
Lap: 1, sc3, double left-hander before oval entry
Involved drivers: Michal, Thehemuli, Nosle(?)
Description: Thehemuli approaches the second left-hander at a very sharp angle and despite two cars just ahead about to make the apex he opts to go full throttle into the corner skidding across the inner kerb and grass and hits the larboard of Michal, causing him to spin into the gravel and lose chances for a meaningful result.

Thehemuli enters the turn with full throttle without a chance to keep car on inside lane with 2 cars on the outside - this results in contact, that could be significantly less affecting with no throttle input.

* PENALTIES :
ZFRL•Thehemuli - receives 10 seconds penalty added to his finish time for avoidable incident in last section of lap 1.

- - - - - - - - - -

This was the 2nd road tyres race in row with rather slow car, which once again turned into pack racing in early stages of the race, with many 3 and even 4 wide situations all over the track, but besides few incidents, nothing more that "rubbing is racing" happened. Later in the race positions on track changed more for tyre temperature reasons - some drivers were able to keep them better in control than others as this car features quite narrow rubber surface to road, which was well loaded with over 1 ton of car's weight.

The 2nd road tyre car race in row was won by brazilian TJ,who late in qualifying session set the fastest lap,but lost it moments later, earning the outside position of front row. But his start was significantly better than polesitter's and after few battles in early laps,he established his race lead with an increasing gap to competition, crossing the finish line first to score his 3rd win in this season and 4th win overall, setting also fastest lap of the race, which is his 3rd. TJ scored his 12th top5 finish and led all 15 laps in this race, which is 5 more than in his previous 3 racewins together. Kyr1l was the fastest through most of the qualifying session, but was demoted to 3rd late in qualifying - that's still 7 positions better than his previous best qualifying result out of 4 tries. In the race he tried to challenge the leader few times, but eventually had to concede, finishing 2nd 6 seconds apart from race winner, improving his only previous finishing result by 18 positions. Also Dod1slaw improved his previous best results by some margin - his 6th place in qualifying was 3 positions improvement, during the race he progressed up to 3rd position in finish to reach 4 positions improvement for his best finishing result. Arska beat the best result very late in qualifying and scored his 3rd pole position in RTFR,but with high 1st gear saw competition flash by at start, losing positions not only on start but also later in race - 4th position for the finn is a repeat of his season best result and 33rd top5 finish in total. The winner of previous race R.Kardol qualified 5th and had to pass many cars to regain that position in finish as he managed to get involved in few incidents early on,still increasing the all time leading top5 count to 96.

VOD at Youtube:

Next week RTFR XL will return after 6 weeks break and it will be another front wheel drive car to race - LFS's slowest standard car UF1 will be run South City's shortest configuration that uses the default start/finish straight - the 2 kilometer Classic configuration will be run in reversed direction, with laptimes just above 1 minute,it will be a 73 laps race to have the usual 75 minutes RTFR XL race. Full information will be posted tomorrow. Normal RTFR version will return in 2 weeks with one of the faster cars - some hints about next combo as always can be heard when watching stream of previous race.

VERL 2024 final standings
Eclipsed
S3 licensed

The 2024 season celebrated the 10 years of league's existance, however there was no celebration mood for the organizing body - the best word to describe the season is flop. Season started with 13 drivers attending round one, setting up an interesting race with highs and lows, also round 2 gathered up decent number of drivers to provide some excitement, but in 2nd half of the season just handful drivers arrived to drive the 2 half distance races, where 2 late joiners rescued season finale to be entered in league's history as lowest attended race ever. 19 signups alone describes the situation - that's 8 less than previous lowest number of 27 (which coincidentally is also all time highest attendance in a single round),set 2 years ago,15 of them actually participated, which is 4 less than 2 years ago. This resulted in 8.5 drivers per round, which is 2 less than last year and almost 6 less than all time average attendance. Still the few racers were ready to tackle the competition and have some fun with challenging car over challenging courses to find out the best between attending drivers, pushing the intrigue of drivers championship winner until last laps.

VERL 2024 Drivers Champion: ZFRL•Thehemuli
When looking back at Thehemuli's results, you can see constant progress - he made his debut in VERL in 2021,where he finished 7th in standings, year later he was 3rd and last season - 2nd. So it was quite logical to end up 1st this season allthough he would probably admit himself - due lack of competition. The finn finished 3rd in season opener, had to settle for 5th place in the longest and most difficult round of the season, but won the remaining 2 rounds to outscore early leader of season. Thehemuli added to his achievements his first 2 wins (had 2nd place finish as previous best),his 1st pole position, his 2nd and 3rd fastest laps of the race and raised his top5 total to 13.
Zesty started the season with 2 wins, which actually made a streak of 3 wins as he won final round of last season, however he never arrived in 2nd half of the season, effectivelly giving up his drivers title and finish 2nd in standings with 3 points gap to leader. The 2 wins makes him a 4-time race winner in VERL,while he also added a pole position to make a total of 3 and 2 fastest laps to have 4 of those. Rony finished 3rd in standings losing to 2nd place only on tiebreaker - he started the season with 5th place finish and finished as runner up in remaining 3 rounds, taking pole position in season finale which is his first in VERL. The top5 finish count was increased to 25 - 3rd place in standings is a repeat of previous season,a position lower than result of VERL's inagural season and 4th overall podium.

VERL 2024 Rookie of the Year: - (not awarded)
According to rules, the award is presented if at least 2 drivers with rookie status finishes at least one race - that was not the case this season as just a sole rookie finished a race (2 actually),so he can be still called as best rookie, but does not receive an actual title. The Czech driver Pedro Dandy finished 8th and 6th in season's first half, but just like most did not attend the 2nd half, ending up 8th in overall standings - 1 position ahead of defending drivers champion.

VERL 2024 Teams Champions: Team S1DUS
With 2 wins and a 2nd place finish, the champions of 2020 and 2021 started the season very strong, taking a commanding lead in the championship standings - that was actually enough to hold the lead until end of season despite not scoring a single point later with huge help of half distance for half points rule. That's a big improvement compared to 8th position the team took last season.
The defending 2-time teams champions RGA came 2 point short (tying would not be enough as they would lose on tiebreaker) to title defence and had to settle for 2nd place in standings despite 6 top5 finishes through the season. The drivers champion's team Zafiralis finished 3rd in standings almost with sole effort of the champion - rest of the team helped only with 10% of their points score. The finnish based team lost a position compared to last season.

VERL 2024 Nations Cup winners: Finland
No surprises in nations cup - Finland still keeps the ground as being the best nation in VERL as their drivers scored already 5th VERL drivers champions title. This year the finns scored 2 race wins (both by the champion) and a total of 9 top5 finishes and led standings from 1st round unchallenged. This is Finland's nations cup for the 5th year in row and 9th time in total.
The other 2 positions on nations podium were taken by nations with a single driver, both also represented on drivers championship podium in same order - Malaysia is 2nd thanks to Zesty's 2 wins and Latvia is 3rd with Rony's 3 2nd place finishes. Malaysia climbed up 2 positions in standings compared to last season,Latvia repeated same result.

Lack of interest in this competition of course raises plenty of questions marks over future of the 10 years old league. It was started 2015 as sort of replacement of LFSCART by NDR,which was previously the longest running LFS league with the fastest aids free LFS car Formula V8. It was always meant as high level league demanding plenty of skills from drivers, that's why we upgraded to the 650 horsepower car when the cars mods were available, throttling down the power on 2nd season with new car to 600 horsepower, but with this also the attendance went down - 15.3 drivers per round in FO8 era versus 10.2 in the new turbo era. This means Race Green Events will take some consideration how or if the new season will take place in 2025 - feel free to post your input of thoughts here!

Unfortunatelly also the final round of the season saw a very low attendance - just 5 drivers joined and that excluded standings leader, who effectivelly gave up his title away as even with half points rule 2 drivers were still in striking distance with a "simple" task - winning the race. 3 drivers qualified, another 2 were able to join as they were in top10 of championship standings (one very late just to mark himself as started),so it was a "quatrel" for win, which reduced to "triel" very soon.

Thehemuli allowed to beat himself in qualifying, taking only the 2nd position on grid, but with different downforce settings alone he was able to take over the lead in long run to 1st turn - he never gave up in and constantly run away from competition to score his 2nd VERL race win, beating also the track record set last season. Rony raised his hopes for title by being the fastest in qualifying, scoring his 1st ever VERL pole position, but could not keep up with pace of his main rival and had to settle for third 2nd place finish in row. Lorenzo joined late and missed qualifying, however still could find some pace to climb a position to finish 3rd,which is his 1st ever VERL podium finish, beating his previous best race result by one position.

Full season recap and official final standings will be posted within next couple weeks!
