Second race of the second season brought us the entry level formula car Formula BMW FB02 as it's known also in the real racing world - relativelly simple car and yet has it's own challenges to be fast on track. Unfortunatelly lack of proper ruling overshadowed the competition as some drivers used something that's quite unrealistic for open wheel cars - bumpdrafting, which in real world is not so easily possible with such cars. But the race goes on and it provided some action in the stream as always - feel free to rewatch it even if the intrigue is gone knowing the results.

The driver who has won half of the last 12 races stroke once again this week - Gábor set the fastest lap in both sessions and crossed the finish line ahead of competition after leading 11 of 18 racelaps. After scoring his 11th pole position and during race picking up also his 11th fastest lap of the race,he scored also his 16th RTFR race win - Gábor is only the second driver to win more than 15,aditionally it was his 29th top5 finish and 22nd win for Hungary, tying Lithuania for 3rd most wins in nations success chart. Despite leading 7 laps,Fatal eventually got cought with group effort and with it lost the lead of the race, which he could not regain anymore,2nd place finish for the previous 2-time racewinner and 16th top5 finish. Well known single seaters driver Ro8er Chan joined RTFR for the first time and proved his skills to finish 3rd,closely followed by WCL's biggest bananas consumer, who also scored his 16th top5 finish. Top5 was closed by Malaysian driver Zesty, who scored his 2nd top5 finish out of 5 total finishes.

Curious people might already know what awaits them in next normal RTFR race scheduled in 2 weeks, rest have to wait for full oficial info in the weekend before the race. But there is another race in nearer future - next week it's time for the extra large RTFR which will feature a car from 60ies/70ies sports prototypes era. The Wessex R69SP is a lightweight sports car with simple aerodynamics but without slick tyres, giving the drivers great challenge to handle it and the high speed Kyoto GP Long reversed will surely push even best drivers to it's limits. Full info soon!

Then you should not put the big 17" wheels with 300mm wide tyres in a car that hails from 80ies,where 14" rims was a standart and having 200+ wide tyres was a luxury.

The 2nd points scoring season of this year was opened with with the 1st mod that's not based on a real car - for the 1st time RTFR was run using a community member's created fantasy car, that is something between STD and TBO classes well known by LFS users. Also the track was something never used before in RTFR - Aston's fastest long configuration Historic in reversed direction. So after close to 300 races during over 11 years we still can find plenty of firsts. Unfortunatelly the attendance reached also a record - with 21 qualifyers (19 starters) this was the lowest attendance in a livestreamed normal RTFR race (the 66th RTFR XL in june this year had 3 starters less on grid). But again - the slightly lower numbers did not bring any boredom for the racing action!

The 2021 standings winner R.Kardol reduced his activity in past couple of months, but yesterday he came back to the victory lane again after 13 events featuring other drivers - after a little 1st lap struggle for the lead, the dutchman pulled away from competition during the remaining 10 laps and scored his 13th RTFR race win, breaking the tie for 3rd most wins he had with A.Wiśniewski. He also scored his 11th pole position,10th fastest lap of the race and 60th top5 finish from 80 race starts. The 2nd front row starter Fatal was the one who tried to challenge the winner, but after own mistake he lost the grip on lead and had to go through few battles before returning to 2nd position, which he kept until end of the race - that's his 15th top5 finish from 30 total finishes. The World Class Monkey finished 3rd,also scoring the 15th top5 finish, relativelly closely followed by Unite in 4th position - that's his 62nd top5 finish, just 3 less than all time 2nd most, set by Botsi. P.Koivunen finished 5th to make 4 finns in top5,that's his 2nd top5 finish in row,3rd in total.

VOD at Youtube:

The season 2 continues in 2 weeks, curious people might already noticed the combo in stream, others have to wait for full info in the weekend before it. One more week later the next RTFR XL will feature a very challenging combo - the info is known and will be set for laptime testing shortly in RTFR server. Tuesday of next week currently is open, but again we reserve the right to throw together spontaniously another edition of RTFR-CCCC.

Regarding feedback,I have couple from making the skin - it was confusing that one side is a bit stretched comparing to other side, which means it's a bit difficult to make both sides symetric. And on LOD2 the right side is shown mirrored. Also LOD3 (and with it the physics/hitbox) seems to be bigger than actual model on rear part.
Having an event coming right away,a quick hotfix would not be apropriate,so these are just suggestions for future.

Race statistics / RTFR XL .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated during the week)

The repeat of celebratory 100th RTFR happening 7 years ago did not attract as much drivers as it did back then - the summer still seems to distract drivers from racing as even the LFS's own crowd favourite folks car could gather up barely over 20 drivers. But as always it's not the numbers that create racing,it's the drivers - as you could see on stream, there was a lot of action on track with many disputes for positions and the few contacts seemed to be just racing incidents as noone really complained.

For the 2nd race in row Mantas was the fastest in qualifying, but unlike last race, this week he regained his early lost lead and led 28 of 37 laps, including the last 6 laps to cross finish line 1st and celebrate his 1st ever RTFR race win, scoring also his 2nd top5 finish (previous best was 2nd place 4 weeks ago). Just 1.31s behind winner a guy named Monkey finished 2nd and set the 6th closest finish in RTFR XL history - that's his 13th top5 finish, while during the chase he set the fastest lap of the race, which is his 5th. Current 2022 standings leader Fatal once again gathered valuable points by finishing 3rd - that's his 7th top5 finish,6th this year. Current 10 race rating leader R.Kardol finished 4th to score his 31st top5 finish and extending his lead in the most top5 chart. Top5 was closed by the other front row starter Unite, who scored his 16th top5 finish.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Not just 100th RTFR had a similar combo - the very 1st RTFR XL was run with this car on same configuration, just in different direction. When comparing race total times, this race was 10.34 seconds faster than the on in reversed direction, with average speed being 0.29km/h faster. The 100th RTFR on same direction featured average speed 0.14km/h faster, but that race did not had a mandatory 10 seconds pitstop.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
In a race with car that can easily make the distance without additional resources, drivers were split between workless pitstops and fuel fill timed pitstops. The first ones are in the challenge for this mention - Maciek had the shortest legal pitstop of them all with a 10.04 seconds pitstop.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Starting from 17th position Jereloco made the best progress through the race and finished 8th with a 9 positions gain - one more than best of competition.

VOD at Youtube:

Again the combo for the next RTFR XL has been relativelly quickly decided, coincidentally the 69th RTFR XL will feature a car having the number 69 in it's name - Wessex R69SP,a 60ies type sports prototype featuring just road tyres, but having assistance of slight downforce to help handle the lightweight chassis. The race will be run on the longest original configuration of Kyoto - the GP Long, but in reversed direction. As always the server will be set up with this combo for laptime testing after the next normal RTFR - regarding that, some might already catched up info about combo of it in the stream,if not, info will be posted on sunday!

After all these racing filled years we still find some new options - RGE has hosted plenty of races in South City's Sprint 1 configuration, but this was the first ever race in the reversed direction, creating rather new turn combinations racers haven't used to yet. The FXR is already alone a specific handling car and coupled with this course,it was actually a new challenge. Unfortunatelly the interest for this challenge was rather low compared with the past 20 months, setting the lowest attendance record since 242nd RTFR (in november 2020 featuring just 16 drivers). But still the driver count in all values (qualifyers, starters and finishers) was downwards rounded all time average values of RTFR.

Having won half of the last 10 races,Gábor joined once again as one of the favourites for victory lane - he scored his 10th pole position, led every single of 42 race laps (exceeding 300 of those in total - now 3rd most),set the fastest lap of the race, which is also his 10th and tied Agent and Merenui for 2nd most wins in RTFR by scoring his 15th win. Besides all these achievements it was also his 28th top5 finish. P.Koivunen repeated his best qualifying position 6th,but his race was much better - he upgraded the qualifying effort to 2nd place finish, which is 3 positions better than his only other top5 finish from 14 starts. Despite qualifying 3rd,Unite had the chance to start from front row as the monkey went for more bananas and left his spot open, but the race led to his return to 3rd position, which is his 61st top5 finish. J.A.Katila finished 4th earning his 26th top5 finish, but first one since 264th RTFR. Top5 was closed by a rookie in RTFR top5 - Ric98's previous best finish was 7th.

After 2 AWD races in row in RTFR,we'll end this small AWS-like summer series - next race in 2 weeks will be the 1st of 2022 season 2 and will feature one of the road legal cars, which is not made by LFS devs. More details as always in the weekend before the race, but you might get a hint on next tuesday's sb.tv broadcast. Regarding the broadcast - it will show the next RTFR XL,which will feature the repeat of the celebratory 100th RTFR combo - XFG at Westhill National (a brand new configuration back then). Let's see if this event can also gather up 40 drivers in qualifying as it did back then - it will be more than twice as long race this time, full details will be posted tomorrow, right after the server is set up.

All these years LFS users were using MRT as the closest vehicle for karting, now we have few more correct options - one of those was put up for test yesterday. Named after the team of the creator, the Master Race Kart with it's low weight, tiny wheels and lack of suspension had it's own handling characteristics, which made it to be yet another love-it-or-hate-it car. There were plenty of tryers, but on the grid there were 24 cars standing to experience probably the slowest start in LFS history - these cars feature single gear and centrifugal clutch,so it's launch was comparable with very heavy vehicles.

Only drivers themselves can answer how much real karting experience they have and how much it helped them yesterday, but R.Kardol joined the server without previous days practice and was the 2nd fastest in qualifying, setting a new PB during the chace for lead, made a pass for lead right after his new personal best and led the remaining 23 laps to score a race win also in the experimental version of RTFR. Botsi was the fastest in qualifying repeating the fastest known laptime of this combo, but had his struggles in the first 1/3 of the race, where he lost his lead and could only follow his teammate to finish 2nd,but at least he set the fastest lap of the race. Goszki finished 3rd already 11 seconds behind the winner, thus finishing in same position he started, but also had his share of position changes in the race.

Next week we'll go back to the "real thing" - the normal RTFR will provide racing action with one of the standard slick tyre wearing cars, more details will be posted during the weekend!

From 2 powerful cars we'll reduce the power drastically and race something with 250cc engine that delivers just 15 horsepower. And together with this car we'll use Westhill's Karting National track for the first ever time in reverse direction and also run there a car that's made for tracks like this - a proper karting machine named after a known team in LFS. The kart has a cetrifugal clutch and a single gear - that's also a first time in Race Green Events history. By not having a lot of settings to change, this race will be decided basically by skillset for such specific vehicle.

IMPORTANT: To avoid possible stuck cars,Jam's app will be connected to server on race day, where you can use command ;turn to turn your kart 90° leftwards!

During the 11.5 years and 284 races RTFR never hosted an RB4 race in a standard configuration of Westhill - until this week. And as always it pushed the LFS's tyres to it's limits,as RB4 is well known to be heavy on the rubber, especially in such relativelly high speed road course Westhill International is. With 27 drivers this was the 2nd most attended race using RB4 in RTFR history - first being the 1st ever broadcasted RTFR race at the start of previous year, which featured the round number of 40 drivers attending, one less standing on grid though.

4 events or 8 weeks ago Fragmasters representative Fatal celebrated his 1st ever RTFR race win, this week he doubled the amount of these - he was the 2nd driver to beat the 2:18 laptime mark in qualifying, catched the early leader soon after half way mark and set the fastest lap on the race on the 1st lap he led fully to score also his 2nd fastest lap of the race, this win was also the 14th top5 finish for the current 10 race rating leader. The 5th most successful driver in RTFR history R.Kardol returned after 4 events break and rallied up to 2nd position starting from 6th row, scoring his 59th top5 finish. In the qualifying Onur scored his own and also his country's 1st ever pole position in RTFR with his 15th try,but could lead 8 laps in the race before losing lead, later losing another position to finish just 3rd,still that's his 4th top5 finish. Unite rounded up his top5 count to 60 by finishing 4th in this race, but another finn Arska closed the top5 scoring his 18th top5 finish.

There are currently no plans for next tuesday, but another edition of the testing RTFR-CCCC might be spontaniously put together - time will tell what will happen. But sure is that in 2 weeks RTFR will host it's 6th and last "off-season" race before starting the 2nd points scored season of 2022 - this race will be run with one of the standard LFS cars using slick tyres, more details about the event as always in the weekend before the race.

4 weeks after the torturing 300 kilometer race, also a pack of bike riders made the support roads of Westhill raceway unsafe - riding on relativelly powerful 2-wheeled machines with very low weight gives the chance to reach high speeds quickly, some of them were exceeding 300 kilometers per hour mark. But having just 2 contact patches to the ground in size of a tennis ball made these machines rather slow in turns - that is a well known trait of motorcycles and also this is where the skill of riders comes in the play. Since the addition of bikes in LFS is rather new,not many have evolved their skills good enough to finish this tricky 11 kilometer course without falling, hence there was not much competition for win.

The lithuanian Simox was the one to beat in this event - first he tried his own built Chimera, but later switched to the MotoGP-like NTZ,with which he set the best time of the whole event, just under 4 minutes and 40 seconds, averaging speed through the course of just below 145km/h. His Chimera time was also the best from all trying this bike, but just a small bit slower than event's 2nd place owners time - a rider naming himself by well known south african business man Elon Musk. Also he rode the NTZ during his best attempt, just like the 3rd place finisher Foch.

Just 5 different bikes reached the finish line of a run - there were few tries with few others, but none of them rode full 11.19 kilometers to get in the finishers list. A total of 12 riders are scored in race results as they completed the course at least once, while there were 2 others who were not successful. Between the less successful bikes were the older MotoGP type bike TSR500 (fastest was 4th place finisher Badmantru),superbike class Vulcan (12th place) and a simple 150cc road motorcycle Mosquito. The trend was quite clear - despite not having an evolved riding skill, most participants opted for powerful machines and spent a lot of time getting up from falls instead taking something slower and simpler to complete the course without falling.

With this the new very experimental event is concluded. It is very likely that we will try a 2nd edition of this event next year (probably around 3-4 weeks after the traditional Westschleife event again) and the first ideas for it is to keep time trial format, but run 2 laps instead a single circle, allowing rather superbike class machines and other road legal 2-wheeled motorcycles, but ban the full race spec bikes like MotoGP class machines. This is of course subject to change as we have almost 1 year to plan things out - it depends of the input of participants.

Race Green Events thanks all riders for participation and guys behind the scenes for their input and efforts - voluntary testers and modders. As always everyone is welcome to share their experience from the event, either in form of text, pictures or videos! Also (even if that rarely happens) - we're awaiting winner's speach!
