Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

After racing well known standard tracks last several races,RTFR offered something different for this race - racing on public roads using LFS's only road legal standard car. The tricky midengined lightweight roadster alone is challenging, but the 2-lanes wide twisty and elevating course spiced the challenge even more. Avoiding mistakes was the key to success this time - some did it better than others.

This was a success day for Gábor - he picked up all the achievements possible for a single driver, but when looking at fastest laptimes, his advantage wasn't that big. But still he led all 18 racelaps and finished with exactly 10 seconds gap over closest rival to start his 3rd RTFR winning streak - in 2 weeks he will have a chance to score his first ever 3 win streak. This was Gábor's 17th race win overall,8th in last 14 races, besides that he scored his 12th pole position and also 12th fastest lap of the race, and rounded his top5 count to 30. Rest of the podium positions were taken by winner's teammates, the 2 rivals in 2021 standings - R.Kardol once again was ahead and took 2nd place finish to score his 61st top5 counter,Unite took 3rd place and scored his 63rd top5 finish. 4th place was taken by a 4-time RTFR racewinner, who returned to the event series after bigger break to score his 10th top5 finish - A.Valta's previous race here was 142nd RTFR (december 2016),where he finished 2nd to SimBroadcasts's founder. Top5 was closed by only winless driver between yesterday's best 5 - Lorenzo scored his 2nd ever RTFR top5 finish barely beating current standings leader over finish line.

RTFR action will return in 2 weeks - with the usual every 3rd race is run with a mod car system, this is the only hint available here, more you can get when carefully watching the broadcast. But next week RGE will offer different action - on the monday VERL will launch it's 8th season, which as most might already know, does not feature FO8 anymore. More details, schedule and signups can be found in the V8 Racing League forum section!

Quote from r3zp3k7 :when will we get a better hosting system?

What exactly do you mean with "better hosting system"? A decenterized like it used to be,so the pirates can make a fake master server once again, earning money from LFS devs' work while devs are earning nothing from the pirated version users? Or do you have a better concept than current one?

Race statistics / RTFR XL .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated during the week)

With addition of mods, the car classes versatility has grown and yesterday RTFR featured first ever race (besides two in the experimental RTFR-CCCC) with sportscar/prototype class car. Unfortunatelly as usually with difficult cars the interest to take the challenge was low,as the lightweight late 60ies/early 70ies sportscar does not feature slick tyres, making the racing difficult. Since it's one of these love it or hate it cars, there were few drivers who enjoyed this challenge, not between those was the one who selected it,shame on you...

The current standings 2nd place owner R.Kardol started from outside of front row and regained his position in 1st lap after losing it due bad start. Later in the race he used leader's mistake and slipped in lead, which he kept until finish line to score his 9th RTFR XL racewin, setting also fastest lap of the race, which is his 8th - both are 2nd highest values in event's history. Besides these,it was also R.Kardol's 32nd top5 finish - he still leads this chart. FM's Fatal was the fastest in qualifying, setting currently fastest known laptime in this combo and scoring his first ever pole position in RTFR XL. He had a great start leaving the competition behind early, but lost the lead after 7 laps due his own mistake and despite trying hard to catch the new leader,he could not keep pace high enough to regain lead and had to settle for 2nd place finish, which is a repeat of his best result in this event,8th top5 finish in Fatal's account. The bottom step on podium was taken by Unite, who had a fair share of advantures until he finished, that's 17th top5 finish for the previous winner. P.Koivunen had a good race running, but lost lots of time on his own mistake, which was also cought on stream - still 4th position is 4 positions better than his previous best finish here, while 3rd place in qualifying was a repeat of best achievement. Top5 was closed by the event host, who was the only driver to finish in same position he started - 27th top5 finish added to his achievements.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
This was a race with interesting coincidental numbers for the numerologists - the 69th event was held on a date 6.9. using a car named Wessex R69SP. Unfortunatelly track was more than twice too long to have a chance for 69 laps distance, but surely most drivers were quite tired after 69 minutes of racing, having another difficult 8-9 minutes ahead...

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Being the 1st driver to do a non-damage repair motivated pitstop,Unite made also the shortest legal pitstop, spending 10.08 seconds in the pitstall with mechanics just lazily watching the standing car. He was one of 3 drivers not needing any pitwork at all, both others also finished in top5,just in opposite ends.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Gábor used the advantage of being previous race winner to join the race without qualifying. After eventful race he was classified 8th despite not completing last lap, making 10 positions gain between green lights and chequered flag.

VOD at Youtube:

In 4 weeks in the 70th RTFR XL we will race one of the rare S1 combos - LX4 will be raced around Fern Bay's longest standard configuration Black in reversed direction, featuring 27 laps race. Despite still being a handful car,the LX4 surely will be quite a lot simpler to race and therefor more atractive to drivers not liking a difficult challenge. But between now and then there will be at least 3 other events from out side. Next tuesday normal RTFR will return with one of the LFS's standard cars - some might already found info about the combo, rest have to wait patiently until the weekend. But in less than 2 weeks on monday the new era of VERL will start as the 8th season of this league will feature a new car. More infos and signups can be found on VERL forum section, while server with round 1 combo is online and up for testing!

V8 Racing League 2022 - information
Eclipsed
S3 licensed

After 7 seasons of exciting racing, the good old Formula V8 made by ScaViEr has been retired and a new car has taken it's place in this series - with this the announced "turbo era" will start in V8 Racing League! When compared to FO8,the new car FoRGE VERL 2022 has most values increased - power has raised by 200 horsepower, but also the weight has been increased by 75 kilograms,to compensate the power and weight gain, also contact patch to the road has been increased as car got a set of wider tyres. There are also values that have been decreased - engine displacement, strength of aerodynamic downforce and fuel tank volume. The latter change will cause the need to visit pitstops as the new car can complete about 75-80% of race distance with full tank - pitstop however is not mandatory by ruling.

League race format is quite simple and hasn't been changed - every round features 20 minutes free track qualifying and race, where lapcount is set to minimum to exceed 200 kilometers. As always no "hardcore simulation" will be enforced to keep things simple - everyone can telepit in qualifying (also in race, but that of course erases the driver's race progress),also Safety/Pace car will not be used.

The schedule features 2 fast tracks and 3 slower ones. Season will kick off with one of the faster ones - the Westhill International has always been a high-speed challenge, where drivers have to make compromises between top speed and cornering speed with their wings setup. Round 2 will bring the rough and bumpy temporary circuit layed out in Blackwood's container storage area - despite being slower in turns, the new car can still beat 1 minute laptime mark here. The middle round will be also the only tour outside England - the sunny island of Jamaica will receive the racers with the tricky Gold configuration in Fern Bay. Fourth round will be the festival of speed - Aston's National configuration does not feature many slow turns besides the 3 hairpins. Season finale is set in South City, where the 4km City Long configuration in reversed direction offer 2 high speed sections and a very tricky maze through the town - a proper challenging site to decide fate of championship!

Series schedule:
19.09. Round 1 - Westhill 200 (WE International, 35 laps)
03.10. Round 2 - Containa Grand Prix of Blackwood (BL Container Sprint*, 80 laps)
17.10. Round 3 - Caribbean 200 (FE Gold, 57 laps)
31.10. Round 4 - Aston Classic Challenge (AS National, 36 laps)
14.11. Round 5 - South City 200 (SO City Long Reversed, 50 laps)
* Custom configuration layout attached

Timetable:
17:30 UTC / 19:30 CET / 20:30 EET
- 20 minutes of qualifying
18:00 UTC / 20:00 CET / 21:00 EET - race start
* due daylight saving time change in Europe, the UTC time of rounds 4 and 5 will be accordingly 18:30 and 19:00!
* times of posted CET and EET timezones are the current times at the date - summer time in rounds 1-3,winter time in rounds 4-5.
* IMPORTANT NOTE: if you are not familiar with either CET or EET timezones, always refer to UTC to convert the correct event time to your timezone! Calendar of lfs.net website's leagues section always shows right time for your timezone!

Special notes on qualifying:
- If there is no full 40 car grid, drivers championship's top 10 drivers will be allowed to start from end of the grid if joined late and missed qualification. For 1st round last year's top 10 driver's can use this option.
- To qualify for the race drivers have to set a laptime during qualifying session within 112% of best laptime of the qualifying session. This does not affect championship's top 10 drivers as they may start the race without qualifying or with laptime outside 112% of best laptime.

Championships:
VERL Drivers Champion - awarded to a driver with the most points scored through all 5 rounds, including attendance bonus points
VERL Teams Champion - awarded to a team with the most points scored through all 5 rounds (team will score all points from it's 2 highest finished drivers and all round bonus points)
VERL Nations Cup Winner - awarded to a nation with the most points scored through all 5 rounds (nation will score all points from it's 2 highest finished drivers and all round bonus points)
VERL Rookie of the Year - awarded to a driver, who hasn't started a single VERL race before this season, with the most points scored through all 5 rounds, including attendance bonus points. Rookie status will be marked in championship standings sheet in series spreadsheets (link in "Miscellaneous info" section of this post)

In all championships - in case of a tie, higher rated will be driver/team/nation with highest finishing position,if equal - it's amount,if equal - second highest position etc. If all finishing positions happen to be equal, higher rated will be selected using same system from qualifying results. If they also happen to be equal then as a tie-breaker will be used last round finishing position. In case a tied driver had a disqualification in one or more rounds,it counts as a primary rating lowering factor, when deciding tiebreak.

Prizes:
Drivers Championship best 3 drivers will be awarded with money prizes:
1st place - 40€
2nd place - 20€
3rd place - 10€

* money prizes will be payed out only via SEPA bank transfer (available only in Europe) or via PayPal!

Rules:
We will not make a mile long rule book that noone will read completely anyway,so we will rely on common sence of competitors to behave and follow the basic Rules of Clean Racing. There will not be an admin in server who will specifically observe drivers' behaviour during the race,so any action will be made only after protest while all retirements will be investigated automatically. If any incidents reported/protested,we will take individual approach to each of them to decide best fair resolution or punishment if needed.

Basic guidelines as a reminder:
> Blue flag - you may not deny/block a passing manouvre of laping car and try a repass right after it. In qualification it means - stay off racing line and don't disturb drivers on hotlap.
> Shortcuts - 2 wheels on track at all times. Track is mostly marked by white lines, while also curbs count towards track. Overtaking outside track limits counts as illegal and will be penalized in case of a protest.
> Contacts - have to be avoided at all costs as always when racing open wheel cars, that includes also bumpdrafting.
> Pit exit - allthough there will be no mandatory pitstop in this league, due smaller fuel tank pitting will be needed,so pit exit lines will have to be respected - drivers may not cross the pit exit line with more than 2 wheels and have to make way for cars racing at full speed. Failing to comply with this rule will award them with 10s penalty, while causing incidents will result in bigger penalty. Pit entry lines will not be monitored, they serve just as guidelines.
> Chatting - it's not completely outruled, but still drivers are expected to concentrate on racing. In case of too much chatting while ignoring messages asking to cease chatting,a penalty may be given. In case of any abusive/offensive language a penalty will be given! Any in server present observers/spectators are not allowed to chat at all during race session!
> Lags - if there are any connection issues, driver will be asked to improve (close internet using programs). If driver will be considered as dangerous due to unstable connection and high ping,he will not be allowed to participate at the current round.
> Hacks/cheats - if used, you will not race with us. Ever. As simple as that.

Possible penalties:
> WARNING - any minor infraction that needs to be noted without penalty. Warned driver might receive bigger penalty for other infractions.
> 10s added to finish time - minor infractions, like illegal passing, pit exit line violation, too much chatting.
> 30s added to finish time - medium infractions, like causing avoidable incident[s] without serious consequences, illegal passing.
> 60s added to finish time (1 lap penalty in rounds 2 and 3) - medium infractions, like causing avoidable incident[s] with consequences to other drivers (like damage, multiple position loss) or unsportsmanlike behaviour.
> Disqualification for 1 or more rounds - heavy infractions, multiple incidents, unsportsmanlike behaviour. After serving disqualification, driver will automatically carry a "warning" for the rest of season.
> Series exclusion (including ban for any other events run under Race Green Events control) - serious infractions like intentional/revenge wrecking, event sabotage and any other malicious act.

Create liveries to be included in FoRGE VERL 2022 mod!
Eclipsed
S3 licensed
Hello skin creators!

I would like to offer you a chance to put your creativity to work - to create liveries that will be included as default skins with a mod.

First a little info about the mod - the FoRGE VERL 2022 is purpose modified Formula US 93 to be used in Race Green Events organized V8 Racing League,a league that used the original Formula V8 from 2015-2021 as it's car, featuring well prominent LFS racers as it's champions. This year the league starts a "turbo era" and uses a different car - more powerful car highly inspired by early 90ies Indycar, which is possible as LFS is now supporting user created cars. The new car of course has no default liveries to chose from yet.

This is where you can join the effort - create nice liveries using logos that are 100% allowed to be included in a mod (LINK to thread, lower is a post with link to fictional logos well known to LFS users). Suggestions are classic liveries known from original LFS cars (like LFSW or ScaViEr),but feel free to make anything else.

The attached skin kit with correct mod ID has black mask, wire frame and a descriptions layer for easier use,the attached VERL logo also can be used in skin, but not required (the mod has a league logo on overroll bar by default). The new season of VERL starts in 19th september,so the mod is planned to be unchanged at least from 17th september, which is practically a deadline for this request.

Best 3-4 skins from our point of view will be included in the mod - rest can still be used by racers if they like it,in such case upload will be required.

Thank you and good luck with the work!

Vehicle mod: FORGE VERL 2022
Details page: https://www.lfs.net/files/vehmods/11627A

SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Quote :The new car for V8 Racing League to replace Formula V8

DESCRIPTION:
Quote :After 7 years running the Formula V8 car,VERL is ready to indroduce a brand new car as it is possible now. Highly influenced by early 90ies Indycar series, the wish was to have a similar car for the league, now with mods support it is possible - as at the end of 2021 season it was announced,VERL enters the turbo era! The car features a 650HP engine and rather simple aerodynamics to allow cars follow others slightly closer in turns, while the wider tyres will give a lot mechanical grip to catch any slides. This car should be a proper addition to Race Green Events organized leagues challenges.

This is a derivative of Formula US 93.

The changes from original mod include:
* Slight shape edits (higher sidepods, overroll bar) and removal of pop-off valve and front wing elements. Added brake calipers.
* Reduced engine power to 650HP to make it a bit more user friendly.
* Reduced weight to 675kg.
* Reduced fuel tank size to 70 liters so it's not possible to complete VERL race distance of 200km without pitting.
* Reduced aero strength and with it also drag.
* Changed rims design (made by nikodpr).
* Increased tyre width.
* Added proper LOD2 and LOD3,optimized skin mapping (with a lot of help by nikopdr)
* Updated sound (delivered by martin18)

To do:
* Proper testing to confirm suspension is good
* Animation optimization
* Few more default skins maybe?

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

Second race of the second season brought us the entry level formula car Formula BMW FB02 as it's known also in the real racing world - relativelly simple car and yet has it's own challenges to be fast on track. Unfortunatelly lack of proper ruling overshadowed the competition as some drivers used something that's quite unrealistic for open wheel cars - bumpdrafting, which in real world is not so easily possible with such cars. But the race goes on and it provided some action in the stream as always - feel free to rewatch it even if the intrigue is gone knowing the results.

The driver who has won half of the last 12 races stroke once again this week - Gábor set the fastest lap in both sessions and crossed the finish line ahead of competition after leading 11 of 18 racelaps. After scoring his 11th pole position and during race picking up also his 11th fastest lap of the race,he scored also his 16th RTFR race win - Gábor is only the second driver to win more than 15,aditionally it was his 29th top5 finish and 22nd win for Hungary, tying Lithuania for 3rd most wins in nations success chart. Despite leading 7 laps,Fatal eventually got cought with group effort and with it lost the lead of the race, which he could not regain anymore,2nd place finish for the previous 2-time racewinner and 16th top5 finish. Well known single seaters driver Ro8er Chan joined RTFR for the first time and proved his skills to finish 3rd,closely followed by WCL's biggest bananas consumer, who also scored his 16th top5 finish. Top5 was closed by Malaysian driver Zesty, who scored his 2nd top5 finish out of 5 total finishes.

VOD at Youtube:

Curious people might already know what awaits them in next normal RTFR race scheduled in 2 weeks, rest have to wait for full oficial info in the weekend before the race. But there is another race in nearer future - next week it's time for the extra large RTFR which will feature a car from 60ies/70ies sports prototypes era. The Wessex R69SP is a lightweight sports car with simple aerodynamics but without slick tyres, giving the drivers great challenge to handle it and the high speed Kyoto GP Long reversed will surely push even best drivers to it's limits. Full info soon!

Then you should not put the big 17" wheels with 300mm wide tyres in a car that hails from 80ies,where 14" rims was a standart and having 200+ wide tyres was a luxury.

The 2nd points scoring season of this year was opened with with the 1st mod that's not based on a real car - for the 1st time RTFR was run using a community member's created fantasy car, that is something between STD and TBO classes well known by LFS users. Also the track was something never used before in RTFR - Aston's fastest long configuration Historic in reversed direction. So after close to 300 races during over 11 years we still can find plenty of firsts. Unfortunatelly the attendance reached also a record - with 21 qualifyers (19 starters) this was the lowest attendance in a livestreamed normal RTFR race (the 66th RTFR XL in june this year had 3 starters less on grid). But again - the slightly lower numbers did not bring any boredom for the racing action!

The 2021 standings winner R.Kardol reduced his activity in past couple of months, but yesterday he came back to the victory lane again after 13 events featuring other drivers - after a little 1st lap struggle for the lead, the dutchman pulled away from competition during the remaining 10 laps and scored his 13th RTFR race win, breaking the tie for 3rd most wins he had with A.Wiśniewski. He also scored his 11th pole position,10th fastest lap of the race and 60th top5 finish from 80 race starts. The 2nd front row starter Fatal was the one who tried to challenge the winner, but after own mistake he lost the grip on lead and had to go through few battles before returning to 2nd position, which he kept until end of the race - that's his 15th top5 finish from 30 total finishes. The World Class Monkey finished 3rd,also scoring the 15th top5 finish, relativelly closely followed by Unite in 4th position - that's his 62nd top5 finish, just 3 less than all time 2nd most, set by Botsi. P.Koivunen finished 5th to make 4 finns in top5,that's his 2nd top5 finish in row,3rd in total.

The season 2 continues in 2 weeks, curious people might already noticed the combo in stream, others have to wait for full info in the weekend before it. One more week later the next RTFR XL will feature a very challenging combo - the info is known and will be set for laptime testing shortly in RTFR server. Tuesday of next week currently is open, but again we reserve the right to throw together spontaniously another edition of RTFR-CCCC.

Regarding feedback,I have couple from making the skin - it was confusing that one side is a bit stretched comparing to other side, which means it's a bit difficult to make both sides symetric. And on LOD2 the right side is shown mirrored. Also LOD3 (and with it the physics/hitbox) seems to be bigger than actual model on rear part.
Having an event coming right away,a quick hotfix would not be apropriate,so these are just suggestions for future.
