RTFR XL has kinda stabilized in terms of attendance - the last 3 races has 22-23 participants,which is few above all time average value. Combination of tricky lightweight road legal racing machine LX4 and Fern Bay's longest configuration was challenging already by default,racing in small packs increased the intensity of the race as seen on broadcast,while drivers alone had distant time-trial like competition with either cars ahead or behind.
Since his fellow front row starter got himself in a 1st turn incident,polesitter Fatal was able to run away from competition right from 1st turns (kinda repeat of monday's VERL race situation),so the finn led every single meter and joined the RTFR XL winners club as it's 28th member. The pole position was Fatal's 2nd such achievement,but also 30th for Finland,the top5 finish was his 9th. With over half a minute gap,2nd in finish was Unite,who set the fastest lap of the race,his 4th,adding 18th top5 finish in his stats. Goszki set a new best result in qualifying - 5th position is an improvement of one position compared to his only previous attempt,but the race brought a repeat of his only previous result - 3rd. Doni joined late and missed qualifying,but seems like he was well prepared as climbed up to 4th position in race results,repeating best finishing result from 3 top5 finishes. Top5 was closed by Arska,who scored his 8th top5 finish.

2nd round brought new cars in the sprint-like maze layed out in container storage field near Blackwood's actual GP track. The 80 laps distance was completed 20 seconds faster than last year with the old car - best laptime in qualifying was faster,but fastest lap of the race was slower than last year's best effort in each case. Race started with few ugly incidents,leading to damages for many drivers,only later the actual race went on,demanding high endurance from the drivers.
Fastest driver in qualifying was the only one who was able to escape all troubles and was leading the field by 6 seconds after comleting 1st lap. Fatal led all 80 laps and collected all 22 points from this round,scoring 3rd VERL win for himself - he's the 6th driver to reach this count of wins. Thehemuli started from outside of 3-wide grid and had some adventures on lap 1,but quickly gained 2nd position,finishing as the last driver on lead lap. Last year's 3rd best rookie scored his 1st ever podium finish - the 2nd position is 3 positions better than his previous best achievement. For 2nd race in row 3rd position was taken by driver who finished last year's standings in same position. Unite qualified in the low 10th position,but had a lot of progress through field in the race - with +7 he is the best climber of the race.
As always 2nd round marks the current trend in the championship - by scoring all 44 points from first 2 rounds,Fatal has built a solid gap over competition and placed himself as top candidate for drivers title. 2nd in standings is Unite with 16 points gap to leader,closelly followed by Thehemuli in 3rd. Motimoukari is still leading the 2-men rookie competition over his teammate LG-mies,but his lead is reduced by 1 point due his penalty.
With one of the drivers retiring,defending teams champions S1dus now have lost most of their lead and now are just a single point ahead of team of current drivers standings leader - Fragmasters. Zafiralis scored most points in this round and moved up to 3rd position,currently 6 points behind leaders. Nations cup is effectivelly over - Finland has already 56 points gap over closest followers,which is estimated more than any other nation will score in whole season - most of the other nations has only 1 points scorer. The competition is only for 2nd position in this table,currently posessed by Latvia,but competition is tight as positions 2-5 are seperated by a single point between each other.
The middle round of the season is the only trip outside England - it's the 2nd edition of Caribbean 200,which again will be held in Fern Bay's Gold configuration. With 3.5km length it's the 2nd shortest track of the season and surely will challenge drivers with it's various turns and their combinations.

The new VERL challenge started almost 2 weeks ago,now it's time to continue it - everyone still has a chance to join the action and with great performance even mix in the fight for the championship glory as nothing is decided yet. Even better - especially in both teams and nations competitions additional signups might have a deciding effect towards either current leaders or chasers.
The shortest and bumpiest track is next up - sneaking through few left containers the 2.5km course has plenty of challenging turns and their combinations. Front stretch is over 30 meters wide for most of it's length,but narrows a lot through the 1st turn,where drivers will feel the lack of modern formula cars' downforce which VERL 2022 car does not have - rest of the track has rather slow turns,meaning that precise handling and throttle control will be the key to success. The pitlane does not have a mandatory speed limit,however the tight chicanes on both ends of it will slow cars down for additional safety in case many drivers decide for same fuel strategy.

Car is relativelly simple to race - has lots of grip from slick tyres and has some aero downforce assistance - that leads to pretty much classic bumper-to-bumper touring car racing,sort of faster paced GTi class racing. I personally felt very comfortable with it and achieved a better result than usually with slower cars in RTFR series.
On negative side - the skin mapping has a flaw,as both sides are mirrored. Not sure if fix is needer or just simple information somewhere as skinners with proper image editing software can easily adapt to this flaw.

Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time,which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Easy handling cars have their attraction to masses - the Faik Topo Cup does not have much power,but has slick tyres and a bit of aero downforce to make it quite easy to race. And as always easy drivable cars tend to group up for bumper to bumper racing,which led to few drivers heat up their tempers - there was a lot of action through out the field with plenty of paint trading in classic touring car style.
R.Kardol started the race from 3rd position,but slipped into 2nd position right after start as the polesitter had his problems. After chasing hard his teammate for 2 and a half laps,the dutchman found a way past him to slip in lead - that was the last lead change in the race as the 13-time RTFR racewinner turned himself into 14-time racewinner by leading the last 20 laps,scoring also his 62nd top5 finish. The most successful driver in RTFR history Botsi started from front row and took over the lead soon after green lights,but could not keep it for long and never really got close enough to endanger his teammate's win chances - 2nd place finish for the finn is his 66th top5 finish,still 2nd best in this chart. Unite finished 3rd scoring his 64th top5 finish,setting fastest lap of the race during his chase of leaders which he never caught,that's his 23rd fastest lap,securing his 2nd position in the according chart even more. The all-S1dus top4 was closed by Gábor,who saw his winning streak end yesterday,scoring his 31st top5 finish. You can even install LFS on multiple computers,you just cannot play online with more than one computer at a time.
And yet you come here with texts where you state care only about your experience and post ABSOLUTELLY no suggestions about solutions.
If master server gets attacked,then yes - you cannot connect to other locations and other versions (might still stay online). If the server of specific location gets attacked,in theory old version should work as it did in old times,and also other locations. But that's my assumption based on my logic - I do not know the actual server structure.
I just explained simple facts. If you don't see the bigger picture,then the you're the one with problems of eyesight. But reading your "I don't care" and "I care about [ME]" this text is obviously a waste of time anyway...
DDoS is not a technical issue. It's a mental health issue by some numbwits with resources they should not have.
Reminder - hosting system which currently is active,is a result of piracy! If there would not been these fake master servers luring players away from legal LFS with their "free" service,then devs would not came up with this centralized hosting system,where attacks have influence to all hosts.

The new era of V8 Racing League was launched this monday - the new car brought new challenges to drivers and with fuel tank too small for full distance,the race got a small tactics addition. And yet when compared to last race at same track with old car,the distance completion took just 11 seconds longer than 2019 when running old Formula V8 - despite reduction of aero downforce,the new car is practically on par with old one,at least in Westhill. One interesting fact shows that drivers were focusing rather on car than competition - between best 12 finishers,only positions 3 to 7 were shuffled,rest finished in same position they started.
Last year's second best driver was the one to beat this year in round one - Fatal set a track record during practice before the event,even if he could not get close to it in qualifying,he still was the fastest and the only one beating 1:38 mark. But it must have been race start stress as he made mistake on lap one and gave up the lead,but regained it after the temporary leader also made a mistake - the finn led the remaining 33 laps to become the 1st winner with turbocharged car in this league,scoring his 2nd VERL race win. The defending champion Gábor did not do as much practice as the racewinner,that might be the reason of his performance - he made several mistakes and finished over half a second behind,settling just for 2nd place finish. His teammate Unite finished 3rd and was one of 3 drivers with positions gain during race.
First round is just the first sign of things what could happen during the season - standings is currently led by Fatal,who is 5 points ahead of defending champion Gábor,Unite is another 3 points behind. Best rookie is Motimoukari,who finished 10th overall,in rookie of the year standings he leads by 3 points over his teammate LG-mies.
The defending 2-time teams champions Team S1dus scored once again most points with their 2nd and 3rd place finishes. They lead the standings by 9 points over Fragmasters,which is a single driver team in this league so far. 3rd in teams table is MRc,13 points behind lead. Nations cup seems to be the most boring championship once again - Finland scored 36 of 39 possible points and leads by 19 points over Hungary,3rd is Malaysia,which is another 5 points behind.
2nd round of the series will be held in the probably the most difficult track of the season - again forklifts and container trucks have left Blackwood to free up space for VERL action. The 2.5 kilometer temporary course in the container storage area is run on very bumpy surface and twists between stacks of containers. One of the big challenges is the variating width of the track - the front stretch feels like football field wide,while the track narrows to 3-cars width after turn one,which also will trouble drivers,who are too used to strong downforce of old car. Drivers have 2 weeks of practice to learn how to deal with these challenges.

The start of the new V8 Racing League era is set to start this monday and the new cars are ready and delivered to the racers - after using the slighly lighter high downforce Formula V8,drivers have to adapt to car with more power but also less aerodynamic downfroce assistance. The comparision graphic should be a good first guide of understanding the differences between old and new cars,rest ist just practice. Having a new car also means one difficulty unknown to long time LFS racers - there is not a big setups base where you can start with well set up car right away,so racers have to create something out of the base setup delivered together with the car. Current signups list is not big,but already consists of the series defending champion and 4 other previous round winners - so the competition still has a potential of intrigue filled racing.
Series of this year will start with a round that has been run just in the inaugural season of the league - Westhill 200,as due the car change it was decided to retire the old Westhill GP round. The International configuration of Westhill has plenty of high speed turns and few slower sections - with less downforce of the new cars the high speed curves will turn into enduring long turns instead of flat out sweepers,while exiting slower corners drivers will have to be careful with their throttle pedals as despite wide rear tyres,the car still tends to go wild on full power.
