Quote from JayDeM :people have spent their money on.

And that exactly is the biggest problem here! The money people spent is not enough to live with for 2 (and a half?) developers AND maintain web services with high level DDoS protection, which in normal world (with people with healthy thinking) would not be even needed.

Quote from JayDeM :why isn't scawen able to prevent this

Because there is no magic switch to turn off idiots with access to way too much resources. And high level DDoS protection costs a lot of money, which is obviosly not involved in this indy project LFS is.
From various Discord discussions I've seen many wannabe experts (including you) who propose to simply turn off DDoS attacks or suggest other very simple solutions, howeven none of them actually maintains any internet based service - so their "expertise" is very questionable.

* PENALTIES :
[FM]ˆStrutter - receives 10 seconds penalty added to his finish time for pit exit line violation.
[MRc] jsk - receives a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct (crashing driver on victory lane).
hermanni - receives 10 seconds penalty added to his finish time for pit exit line violation.

- - - - - - - - - -

Formula BMW has always been rather a people's car - relativelly simple and yet fast due it's low weight, slick tyres and downforce. However in RTFR XL it has been very unpopular - in both terms of selection and attendance. Last time it was selected for 25th RTFR XL (more than 5 and a half years ago) and it has lowest all time average attendance. With 20 drivers attendace it will climb up to penultimate position now,but it still recorded repeated lowest attendance of this year.

Having in field just a single driver with a win recorded in latest 3 seasons, this was again a race for a potential new first time race winner. This honor was taken over Fragmasters' representant Rex,who had his best ever RTFR XL race as in his previous 4 attempts, where he finished 6th as best result. This week the pole led 21 laps having several lead changes with the polesitter, leading also the last 7 laps on his tyre survival run to victory lane. His 2nd position in qualifying was also an improvement - 2 positions better than previous best, while Rex set also fastest lap of the race. After scoring his 1st pole position, the defending race winner Mandula set sights on a 2-in-row possibility, however late in race encountered hardware issues and had to settle for 2nd place finish, scoring his 9th top5 finish, but by leading most of the laps he exceeded 100 laps led mark. Best personal race was also for 3rd place finisher Suforr, who's previous best finish was 8th position, also his qualifying result was an improvement - from 7th to 3rd. 30th finish for Thehemuli resulted in 2nd top5 finish in row - he crossed the finish line 4th,increasing his total of top5 finishes to 4. The most successful racer in the field was Unite, who finished 5th,scoring his 29th top5 finish (still 3rd most).

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Despite running a full spec racecar, this race was the slowest in past year - this race clocked just 146km/h average speed, which is 35km/h slower than average of previous 12 races and almost 3km/h slower than latest LX6 race in South City.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
...is once again T.Soini - this time his workfree pitstop was 10.10 seconds long - just a tenth shorter than 2nd best.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Despite blown tyre and penalty which cost him a position,Strutter still managed to have the highest progress during the race with 7 positions gain - from 15th in grid he is classified 8th.

VOD at Youtube:

Currently the race winner has not answered message about next combo,so information about that will be posted later. But information about next RTFR will be posted already this sunday - some already got hints from broadcast what to expect, and that will be probably one of the most difficult tuesday evening drives for many participants. In 2 weeks server will be relayed to RandomCar,where penultimate round of the 2024 series will be held in Rockingham.
V8 Racing League 2024 - information

September is here and it's time to start Race Green Event's fastest annual returning series - V8 Racing League! The season 2024 celebrates 10 years of VERL existance and will search for a champion for it's decade season with 4 races long championship, running the turbocharged FoRGE VERL 2022 over variety of LFS environments. Even if last season reached all time lowest average attendance through season, the racing for championships was still exciting,so it is deffinitelly worth it to continue this series, offering chance for previous champions put their name into history once again and all others - challenge the previous champions for chance of own glory.

League race format is quite simple and hasn't been changed - every round features 20 minutes free track qualifying and race, where lapcount is set to minimum to exceed 200 kilometers. As always no "hardcore simulation" will be enforced to keep things simple - everyone can telepit in qualifying (also in race, but that of course erases the driver's race progress),also Safety/Pace car will not be used. The race time stays in sunday evening (european time) to increase it's availability for the racers from west side of Atlantic. Season starts on 15th september with rounds set 2 weeks apart from each other.

Schedule has been shortened to 4 rounds for the decade season, visiting 4 different environments - season will kick off in Japan, which has not been visited by VERL since 2019. Kyoto 200 will be run in the roval configuration named National in reversed direction. Round 2 is a return to bumpy container storage field of Blackwood - the container sprint custom configuration has become a classic challenge in the series as it will be run for the 4th year in row,5th in total. Westhill will become the only environment to be used in every single season (other was South City, not run this year) - this year the league will follow Kyoto's example and also run in configuration named National reversed. Season finale will be held in Aston - last season the round in Grand Prix configuration was the most attended,so it was put as deciding round for this season.

Series schedule:
15.09. Round 1 - Kyoto 200 (KY National Reversed, 39 laps)
29.09. Round 2 - Containa Grand Prix of Blackwood (BL Container Sprint*, 80 laps)
13.10. Round 3 - Westhill 200 (WE National Reversed, 46 laps)
27.10. Round 4 - Aston Classic Challenge (AS Grand Prix, 23 laps)
* Custom configuration layout attached

Timetable:
17:00 UTC / 19:00 CET / 20:00 EET
- 20 minutes of qualifying
17:30 UTC / 19:30 CET / 20:30 EET - race start
* due daylight saving time change in Europe, the UTC time of round 4 will be accordingly 18:00 (Qual) and 18:30 (Start)!
* times of posted CET and EET timezones are the current times at the date - summer time in rounds 1-3,winter time in round 4.
* IMPORTANT NOTE: if you are not familiar with either CET or EET timezones, always refer to UTC to convert the correct event time to your timezone! Calendar of lfs.net website's leagues section always shows right time for your timezone!

Special notes on qualifying:
- If there is no full 40 car grid, drivers championship's top 10 drivers will be allowed to start from end of the grid if joined late and missed qualification. For 1st round last year's top 10 driver's can use this option.
- To qualify for the race drivers have to set a laptime during qualifying session within 112% of best laptime of the qualifying session. This does not affect championship's top 10 drivers as they may start the race without qualifying or with laptime outside 112% of best laptime.

Championships:
VERL Drivers Champion - awarded to a driver with the most points scored through all 4 rounds, including attendance bonus points
VERL Teams Champion - awarded to a team with the most points scored through all 4 rounds (team will score all points from it's 2 highest finished drivers and all round bonus points)
VERL Nations Cup Winner - awarded to a nation with the most points scored through all 4 rounds (nation will score all points from it's 2 highest finished drivers and all round bonus points)
VERL Rookie of the Year - awarded to a driver, who hasn't started a single VERL race before this season, with the most points scored through all 4 rounds, including attendance bonus points. (award will not be given out if less than 2 rookies have finished at least one race through season)
In all championships - in case of a tie, higher rated will be driver/team/nation with highest finishing position,if equal - it's amount,if equal - second highest position etc. If all finishing positions happen to be equal, higher rated will be selected using same system from qualifying results. If they also happen to be equal then as a tie-breaker will be used last round finishing position. In case a tied driver had a disqualification in one or more rounds,it counts as a primary rating lowering factor, when deciding tiebreak.

Points System:
Finishing points:
1st - 16 points
2nd - 13 points
3rd - 10 points
4th - 8 points
5th - 7 points
6th - 6 points
7th - 5 points
8th - 4 points
9th - 3 points

*in case there 8 or less participants in qualifying, race distance and available points will be halved.
1st - 8 points
2nd - 6 points
3rd - 5 points
4th - 4 points
5th - 3 points
6th - 2 points
7th-18th - 1 point

(points for more positions available just in case of late joins)
* also here completion of 2/3 (66.67%) from reduced race distance with single run is required to score finishing points!

Round bonus points:
Qualification win - 1 point (if qualifying time is equal,both/all will receive this bonus point)
Fastest lap in race - 1 point (if laptime is equal,both/all will receive this bonus point)

Championship bonus points:
Attendance in all 4 rounds - 2 points
Attendance in 3 rounds - 1 point
* Attendance counts if a driver has started the race (crossed start line after green lights)

Rules:
We will not make a mile long rule book that noone will read completely anyway,so we will rely on common sence of competitors to behave and follow the basic Rules of Clean Racing. There will not be an admin in server who will specifically observe drivers' behaviour during the race,so any action will be made only after protest while all retirements will be investigated automatically. If any incidents reported/protested,we will take individual approach to each of them to decide best fair resolution or punishment if needed.

Basic guidelines as a reminder:
> Blue flag - you may not deny/block a passing manouvre of laping car and try a repass right after it. In qualification it means - stay off racing line and don't disturb drivers on hotlap.
> Shortcuts - 2 wheels on track at all times. Track is mostly marked by white lines, while also curbs count towards track. Overtaking outside track limits counts as illegal and will be penalized in case of a protest.
> Contacts - have to be avoided at all costs as always when racing open wheel cars, that includes also bumpdrafting.
> Pit exit - allthough there will be no mandatory pitstop in this league, due smaller fuel tank pitting will be needed,so pit exit lines will have to be respected - drivers may not cross the pit exit line with more than 2 wheels and have to make way for cars racing at full speed. Failing to comply with this rule will award them with 10s penalty, while causing incidents will result in bigger penalty. Pit entry lines will not be monitored, they serve just as guidelines.
> Pitlane speed - round 2 is run on track where is no LFS-side enforced pitlane speed limit. Here the speed will not be monitored, however if an incident happens due high speeds, driver will be penalized for avoidable incident.
> Chatting - it's not completely outruled, but still drivers are expected to concentrate on racing. In case of too much chatting while ignoring messages asking to cease chatting,a penalty may be given. In case of any abusive/offensive language a penalty will be given! Any in server present observers/spectators are not allowed to chat at all during race session!
> Lags - if there are any connection issues, driver will be asked to improve (close internet using programs). If driver will be considered as dangerous due to unstable connection and high ping,he will not be allowed to participate at the current round.
> Hacks/cheats - if used, you will not race with us. Ever. As simple as that.

Possible penalties:
> WARNING - any minor infraction that needs to be noted without penalty. Warned driver might receive bigger penalty for other infractions.
> 10s added to finish time - minor infractions, like illegal passing, pit exit line violation, too much chatting.
> 30s added to finish time - medium infractions, like causing avoidable incident[s] without serious consequences, illegal passing.
> 60s added to finish time (1 lap penalty in round 2) - medium infractions, like causing avoidable incident[s] with consequences to other drivers (like damage, multiple position loss) or unsportsmanlike behaviour.
> Disqualification for 1 or more rounds - heavy infractions, multiple incidents, unsportsmanlike behaviour. After serving disqualification, driver will automatically carry a "warning" for the rest of season.
> Series exclusion (including ban for any other events run under Race Green Events control) - serious infractions like intentional/revenge wrecking, event sabotage and any other malicious act.

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Quote from B2マ TωϊnCΔm via RGA discord :Event: 340th RTFR
Lap: Lap 2

First chicane Hit by Neves. And above as i said lap 3 under the bridge continuing to murder Hermanni in the right hander by cutting across the grass at full speed collecting Hermanni while trying to remove me from the race for his mistake.

Neves's behaviour was monitored through whole race - the driver shows signs of impatience and lack of effort to avoid any contacts, while after a later incident he obviously goes for a revenge wreck.

* PENALTIES :
[H2O] Neves (LFS licence: PedroNeves110) - is disqualified from race results for multiple avoidable contacts and receives a 6 months ban from Race Green Events organized events for revenge wrecking.

- - - - - - - - - -

Previous race was run with LFS's own people's car, this week the race was held with a car from a class that is becoming a people's car in GT racing - GT4 class car N.400S. With it's relativelly simple handling (still offering some challenge) it attracted a total of 37 racers for qualifying session - that is the highest number since 326th RTFR run in february, however 3 drivers decided to leave before the race,so we had 34 cars standing on grid.

Gábor returned to RTFR after missing 1 race and started the return of being fastest driver in practice. Even if he was outpaced in qualifying, after chasing the polesitter for 5 laps,he used rival's mistake and slipped into race lead, leading rest of the race to become all time most successfu driver in RTFR as the hungarian scored the record braking 37th race win. Additionally he scored his 32nd fastest lap of the race (already all time highest) and 65th top5 finish. The 2024 season 1 champion M joined his first race in the 2nd season and started with a 2nd place finish upgrading his 4th place on the grid - that's 23rd top5 finish for him. Despite having some position trades during race,TJ finished in same position he started - 3rd,rounding up his top5 count to 10. Current standings leader was the fastest in qualifying scoring his 9th pole position, however A.Valta's race went south after mistake in lap 5 as it was the start of his positions regress, which ended in position 4 - also he scored his 23rd top5 finish. 5th place in both sessions was taken by Unite, who scored his 84th top5 finish (still 3rd most).

VOD at Youtube:

RTFR XL is next on our schedule - that will be run with FBM in South City's longest configuration running in reversed direction, full info will be posted tomorrow (server will be set up already today). In 2 weeks normal RTFR will be run with one of the street tyre cars, which is running those for historic reasons as slicks were not invented in it's time - as always some hints about combo can be heard in broadcast, but full info will be posted only on weekend before the race...

From track layout alone it was known this round will break speed records of RandomCar and the race did not dissapoint - the average speed was almost 6 km/h higher than previous fastest race in the league, run in april last year in Kyoto,it was also almost 12km/h faster than all time average. Unlike last year, the august round was not the least attended - this tuesday there was 1 driver more than in previous round, however 3 of them left before qualifying and this round had the smallest grid of the season with 19 cars, but since all of them finished, this was just repeated smallest finishers count. In this fast track having car known being fast on straights was very advantageous, however only drivers with good set of skills were able to put them in high positions.

After missing 2 rounds, the previous championship leader returned to series and that with good performance straight away - he got a medium powered car, which has a rather low drag, helping it to reach high speeds in long straights. M got the Cammera, which was republished just before previous round, and set with it fastest lap in qualifying, becoming the 1st ever driver, who scored 2 pole positions with same car. Despite bad start, the lithuanian regained lead at the end of 1st lap and with it led every single lap of the race, pulling away from competition unchallenged from 2nd lap - with that he scored his 2nd race win of the season,3rd overall, taking also the point for fastest lap. Rest of the podium also finished in same position they started - Unite, who was running BZ30 once again, finished 2nd and Rejekt completed the podium in his 2nd RandomCar race with the most powerful car on track that day - the 1.8 ton CZR.

Despite attending only qualifying and scoring only 2 points from it for 2nd place,J.Holmes keeps his lead in drivers championship, but the points gap has been reduced to 12. 2 drivers are now these 12 points away from leader - M is in 2nd place, ahead on tiebreaker (2 wins against 1),followed in table by his teammate and countryman 136. Based on highest gained points in this season (league uses attendance affected points system),only 8 drivers are considered still in the race for drivers championship, however it's quite clear that the race itself will be held between the top3 as rest are simply too far away.

In teams championship only 2 teams remain as championship candidates and with 68 points gap Born 2 Race are clear favourites over defending champions RGA. Zafiralis is still 3rd,however they're closelly chased by 2 strong teams and cannot afford another low scoring round as this one. In nations cup the title contenders are twice as much, however realistically also only top2 are still in race - Lithuania has lost 1/3 of their big lead over last 3 rounds and currently has 37 points gap over charging defending champions Finland,if the current trend continues, the double points scoring season finale might be crucial. UK and Poland still can mathematically take nations championship, however it's unlikelly they will change positions even between themselves. Manufacturers championship is still led by BZ30 Roadster,Talot has scored it's 6th score, making it eligible for championship - that puts the make in 2nd position,XM-5 is now 3rd. There are still several manufacturers, who can get their 6th score and get involved in championship - one of them even with higher average score than current leaders.

4 cars were drawn 3 times for this round, but in the race there were only 2 pairs of same car models, making the field quite variating. Talot is still the most drawn car,now having 43 all time draws, followed by BZ30 with 41,the undrawn Acosta and Imprezzive B2 still have 39. Additionally 2 drivers got the 4th draw of same car (still highest count) - 136 got XF Turbo 5 and Unite the BZ30.
With just 19 drivers starting, there are still plenty of best results in this round. First is the driver in first - M did repeat Cammera's best qualifying result achieved by himself, but his race win is the 1st for the car as previous best finish was achieved by A.Valta, who finished 5th. J.Holmes' 2nd place with CZR in qualifying was 1 position better than his main rival's M's best achievement with the car. The best results fight between Twincam and Arska was alive also in this round - this time Twincam improved Arska's best finishing result with Poscher Caynam with 5th place finish, which is 4 positions better. Jsk used Dash as the 1st ever driver and put it's initial best results as 14th in qualifying and 11th in race. The 2 finnish drivers race for best initial result with Adda Ar-Eight was won by Harri K.,who was 15th in qualifying and 13th in race, just a position ahead of his direct rival. Roku Troeno's best race result is now 19th,4 positions better than Tbug's classified result without finishing race.

The selection of next track has been given to race winner - M has his 2nd and last chance to select track in this season, however he hasn't submitted his choice between Rockingham or Layout Square options yet. Next round will be the last 30 minutes race of the season as the season finale will be a 1 hour race for double points.

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

This was sort of back to basics race - the popular peoples car of LFS raced in the longest track in the infield of Rockingham. XFG is the most attended car between all LFS original cars and between all cars that have been used more than twice - with all time average of 23.8 drivers per race over 16 races and the 17th race is the highest number for all cars. Having attendance of 36 drivers per race in last 3 races this race was rather a small step backwards, but still the 30 drivers racing this week produced plenty of action, overstraining broadcasters with decisions where to look.

With absence of winners from latest 29 races, someone else had to step in,however the guy who did it wasn't exactly a newbie - A.Valta has already 6 RTFR wins under his belt,2 of those in recent 2 years. The finn was the fastest in qualifying, scoring his 8th pole position, but found competition early in the other front row starter, who in his RTFR debuth led 6 laps, however an unfortunate contact sent him out of track and the way for 7th RTFR race win was clear for A.Valta, who on final lap also set the fastest lap of the race, scoring his 8th of those and also 22nd top5 finish. P.Koivunen repeated his best RTFR finish by finishing 2nd this week, scoring his 8th top5 finish 1 race before his anniversary 50th RTFR race. The fully finnish podium was completed by Thehemuli in 3rd position, who scored his 4th top5 finish in row and 14th in total. L.Rydh was the only non-finn in the top5 this week, but as a swede he kept this very regional - he scored his best ever results in RTFR,8th place in qualifying and 4th place in race are 7 positions better than previous best results in each session. Top5 was closed by True Alpha, who repeated the same result as in his previous race here 4 months ago and scored his 26th top5 finish.

VOD at Youtube:

Next RTFR in 2 weeks will be run with one of the modern GT cars, which and where you can see some hints in the broadcast. However next week the server will be given away to RandomCar - round 8 of the 2024 series will be run in probably the fastest course in league's history Aston National.

This time no new cars added to the list, however there is one minor update regarding restrictions between 2024 series rounds 7 and 8 - after winning 2 races in row,the LFS home grown RB4 GT confirmed that it is overperforming in certain conditions so it needs to be slowed down,so we're starting with a single percent of air restriction.

If broadcaster can comment the action on track from a car,I thought I could post results while travelling the ship - sadly the network connection in international waters is quite poor,so the results are posted just now... The quite radical small racing car was run in the rather unradical Blackwood this week and that for 75 minutes, which is not really something you usually see this car's counterpart in real life. But this is LFS and we race everything that's worth to do it and 25 racers were around to try their skills and luck, however only 23 of them were standing on grid.

With 2 race winning streak Gábor joined and seemingly set his sights on 3rd in row as he was the fastest in qualifying scoring his record breaking 12th pole position in RTFR XL. However he denied joining the grid and gave up his winning streak voluntary. With 3 winless drivers taking the top3 spots on grid, there were some thoughts of a first time winner in this race - Mandula repeated his best qualifying effort (3rd position) this week and on lap 10 took over the race lead to apply himself for race win. After some early struggles and also late battle he established himself in race lead, keeping it over the finish line to score his 1st ever RTFR XL race win, extending winning streak for Hungary to 3. It was his 8th top5 finish and an 2 position improvement compared to his previous best result, while also the 2nd race which he led (previous was 60th RTFR XL). The only previous winner in the top5 was Unite - he also had some chances for race win, however could lead just a single lap and eventually finished 2nd,officially scoring the 150th top5 finish for Finland and 28th for himself. During the chase for lead he set also the fastest lap of the race, that's his 5th already. Thehemuli seemed to be the number 1 candidate for his 1st win early in the race, however he was not able to keep up the needed pace and after leading his first 15 laps in RTFR XL,he settled for 3rd place finish, only repeating his best result - 2nd place in qualifying was an improvement by 2 positions. It was 3rd top5 finish for the finn, who set total count of top5 finishes of finnish drivers to 151. Also 4th place finisher Jsk had his best RTFR XL race - the 4th place in qualifying was an improvement by 5 positions, the 4th place finish was the better one of 2 top5 finishes and also he added himself to race leaders list with 3 laps. Top5 was closed by Madjester, who repeated his best result achieved last race.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
This is the first time for Hungary when a winning streak started by 1 driver was continued by other - Hungary joins Finland and Lithuania, which were the only countries until now with winning streaks done by multiple drivers.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
With car's fuel tank being able to take the car just over 2/3 of the race,it was clear that everyone will need pitwork, most of them refuelling and then waiting for 10s mark to leave pitlane - so it was an indirect pit clocker competition this time. Best of them was mr. 9.99 himself - Unite with a 10.05 seconds pitstop.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
136 qualified in low 20th position and finished 12th,making best progress during the race despite losing a position due penalty - 8 positions gain,1 better than 2nd best.

Next RTFR XL combo is already known as the new winner did not went into deep considerations - the 93rd RTFR XL will be run in rather classic combo FBM at South City's longest configuration City Long in reversed direction, one of rare chances for S1 licence owners to join. Next week we'll return to shorted RTFR racing, where other demo car will be run, however the track will still require S3 licence - full info will be posted in the weeked.

Not possible anymore as you have visited 35 servers and driven 458km online - obviously LFS client has been unlocked at least once.
(edit: these stats however could be from demo status,so only you know yourself if you unlocked LFS after purchasing S1 licence)
