Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Our return to LFS standard cars led to race with UF1 "on steroids" - the NGT class car UFR. It was also the 2nd return of tricky Container Rush layout, previously used in 146th RTFR running FO8. The mixture of container storage area, rush through central road of industrial area and run through support roads of Blackwood racetrack turned out to be tricky, especially with cars this rollhappy on the curbing, that led to quite low finishing race as just 10 of 19 starters crossed the finish line, just 7 on lead lap,but a total of 14 were classified as finishers as they completed the 50% distance requirement.

Despite starting from 7th position (which however was inside of row 3 of the 3-wide grid),Gábor found a way through competition to make pass for race lead on lap 15,he led the remaining 8 laps and crossed the finish line to score his 13th RTFR race win, becoming the 4th driver to reach this amount. During the race he set a new lap record in this combo, thus scoring his 8th fastest lap of the race, this was his 26th top5 finish. Thehemuli scored his best ever qualifying result - 3rd,which is actually halved his previous best result,so the chance to score also best finishing result was set high. The finn eventually climbed up to 2nd position, which is his 4th top5 finish after 3 fifth place finishes. Previous winner (back then winning a race with the other UF car) J.Pickard is a rather rare guest latelly, this time he joined and scored his 15th top5 finish with a 3rd position in the results. Onur slipped in lead early on lap 1,but lost it after conceding to race winner's pass. Even worse - he happened to turn into pitlane and complete a pitstop before starting final lap, slipping down the order and finishing 4th - that's his 3rd top5 finish. The top5 was closed by another Zafiralis driver, who improved best results in both sessions - Motimoukari qualified 6th,which is improvement by a single position, but finishing 5th was a great improvement by 7 positions.

The racing action from Race Green Events is not over this week, this sunday we offer the chance to challenge yourself at the longest 300 kilometers in LFS latest history - Race Green 300km of Westhill 2022. Click on the event name to open the event info thread! But next week it's time for the 6th RTFR XL race of this year (66th overall),which coincidentally will be another 300km race, but in opposite of the sunday's race this will be completed in less than the half time.

This week we made a competitional test with a vehicle type that's not represented in lineup of original LFS car - a truck! With dry weight over 5 tons it's almost 4 times heavier than LFS' own "heavyweight" FZ5. This test showed some problems with LFS physics - firstly the known tyre problem was much stronger with the truck, while at least we did not had the problems with brake temperatures like real counterpart does as LFS does not simulate those. Also we found out that trackside objects like tyre stacks are no obstruction for the truck and unfortunatelly few drivers used this to blatantly violate track limits,so we had to bring in something more unmovable, leading to few incidents, but still - blame the tyrestack cutters for that!

This might be some kind of unfair advantage - the mod creator was the fastest in qualifying and also won the race, despite being in chase position for first 4 laps. Unite celebrated the 2nd win in row in the RTFR-CCCC,becoming the 1st driver to achieve this. Nosle finished 2nd for the 2nd race in row with 2 positions gain from start,3rd was Thehemuli who also halved his qualifying position.

Next week we'll go back to original LFS cars, which and where will be announced tomorrow, but on tuesday after that we will have our own Grand Prix race of past year. And for those who like a bit more challenge - before the next RTFR XL with 300km distance, there will be a much longer 300km race on next sunday, the 12th june - Race Green 300km of Westhill,a very challenging race with over 30 cars up for selection. More details in THIS THREAD.

Since normal RTFR is in "offseason" and can be more used for various rather tested mods, the CCCC will go fully experimental and will host the first ever organized truck race in LFS! The car with it's over 5 ton weight has more weight alone than total weight of whole several grids in older RTFR history, when the attendance wasn't too high. Still the big wide tyres support the weight well enough to not melt after few turns,so this should be a proper race. In theory... We will find out this tuesday how our favourite racing sim will deal with such heavy cars!

The "offseason" race was hosted using a replica of a popular (and for some even cult status gained) historic sports car, which with it's rear engine/rear wheel drive layout caused plenty of troubles in terms of handling. As expected not many were up for this challenge as the fast Westhill International racetrack pushed the tyres of this car to the limits. The attendance of 24 drivers was the lowest value since the "offseason" event at the end of year 2020 (244th RTFR).

On lap 6 Fatal finally could find a way past troubled race leader and remained in race lead for 10 laps to cross the finish line first - that's the 1st RTFR racewin for the finn from 28 race starts, while he also scored his 1st fastest lap of the race and 11th top5 finish. Fatal is 2nd new racewinner in this year,76th overall in the RTFR Winners club. Unite finished 2nd almost quarter minute behind to score his 58th top5 finish, tying R.Kardol again for 3rd most top5 finishes. Leader of 4 race laps Arska finished 3rd as his hopes for 2nd racewin melted together with tyre thread,16th top5 finish in his account. To make the top5 single nation only,2 other finns followed the podium finishers - Doni was 4th rounding up his top5 count to 10,Thehemuli finished 5th,which is a 3rd repeat of his best finishing result.

Later today the server will be set up for laptime testing for next RTFR XL,which will feature the Red Cow car Formula RC11 at Aston Grand Touring - as always we need to find out best possible laptime for distance calculation. In 2 weeks the normal RTFR will return with one of the slick tyre cars - more details as always in the weekend before. On the sunday in less than 3 weeks RGE will host it's annual endurance race on the support roads of Westhill - the over 14 kilometers course will await drivers, who will have the torture of choice as there are a total of 42 different cars up for selection! More info and link to signups in the Race Green 300km of Westhill 2022 thread.

Why don't you switch to iRacing, then you'll know the true meaning of ripoff.

Yes,S3 used to have Rockingham only,so then it was almost a devs support licence upgrade, now with mods added to available content the value of S3 has at least trippled if not more. Also remember - you have used the LFS for almost 7 years without additional cost, now when you upgrade,it will be a one payment and you can use LFS again for many years without any additional cost and still be able to go online, have your stats stored, upload skins. S2 value has shrunk now as most licenced servers are in S3 mode now, still it's anything else than a ripoff considering how much fun you can get for these additional 12 pounds.

4th year of RTFR standings based tournament is a bit different - it's divided into 2 seasons, each just 10 rounds long,1st of those is now complete and this is the recap. With kind promotion of SimBroadcasts.tv attendance levels are still high, where sometimes not everyone can join the server as it has simply reached it's maximum capacity, while only one of the 10 rounds had smaller attendance than 38,averaging 39.8 drivers per round. During these 10 rounds we're just a single driver short to reach 100 drivers count in the points scorers list. 5 different drivers could drive their cars on the victory lane,2 of them multiple times.

RTFR 2022 Season 1 standings winner: YES V. Laguckas
The lithuanian drastically increased his activity this year and that resulted in success - he won 4 of first 5 rounds, scoring a total of 7 top5 finishes,5 pole positions and 2 fastest laps of the race. Last year V.Laguckas joined 6 rounds of the 25 rounds long season, winning one of those, finishing in top5 on 2 others, scoring also 3 pole positions - that resulted in 16th position in final standings.

The only driver with realistic chance to overturn championship outcome was Fatal, who was just 7 points behind standings leader before final round and reduced the gap by 2 outqualifying him,but could not deal with the tricky car well enough and had to settle for 2nd place in final standings, gathering up 6 top5 finishes with a sole 2nd place finish as best result, scoring also 2 consecutive pole positions. Fatal finished 11th in last year's standings with 3rd place finish as his best achievement. Last year's champions biggest rival was Unite, but in 1st season of this year he had to retreat by one position, finishing 3rd in 4 races, scoring also a pole position and a fastest lap.

The defending champion R.Kardol did not attend 2 rounds and was classified 4th in final standings, still he scored most podium finishes - 7,one win and 4 2nd place finishes. 2020 standings winner Gábor finished 7th in standings this year, winning 3 races, but the first RTFR scored standings champion from year 2019 Botsi attended just one round this season, finished 2nd and is scored 34th in standings.

After the 2022 season 1 we will have now 6 RTFR races which will not count to any specific standings,so it's sort of a summer break for drivers aiming for prizes and honors, but racing will not cease - we'll just continue just like in old times, first of these races already today with a differently named VW Beetle. 2022 season will start on 16th august with a street legal car race, currently no more info available. RTFR XL will continue through whole year with scored standings, dropping 2 worst points scores from standings, next race is in 3 weeks with a modern F1 car in Aston!

Edvards77 - receives 10 seconds penalty added to his finish time for pit exit line violation.

- - - - - - - - - -

For the 2nd time in RTFR XL there was a rallycross race, this time it was with the slower LX car and the race was way more attended - 4 times more drivers qualified for this race than last time,5 times more starters were on the grid. However the atrition in this race was much higher - just 16 drivers of 30 starters were classified as finishers, setting the all time 2nd worst finishing rate in RTFR XL with 53.3%. What's most ironic from this race - the selector of 1st rallycross combo did not join the race back then, however he did this time and won the race.

R.Kardol started from the outside of 3 cars wide front row and took the race lead in 2nd lap to set his sights on race win as he was constantly pulling away from competition, giving up his lead only during pitstops phase - on the way to his 8th RTFR XL race win,the dutchman scored also his 7th fastest lap of the race, becoming the sole 2nd position in most fastest laps chart,he also rounded up his top5 count to 30. Despite starting from pole position,Unite did not led a single lap in this race and finished as runner up 25 seconds behind his teammate, still it was his 2nd pole position and 15th top5 finish. Fatal finished 3rd and scored his 4th top5 finish this year in 5 races,5th top5 overall. The only other laps leader Arska finished 4th,losing 2 positions between start and finish, that's his 6th top5 finish and best result of this year,he also becomes 48th driver to lead a lap in RTFR XL history. Top5 was closed by Spirts, who started his 2nd race in the series and greatly improved his previous best finish 11th.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Despite driving the slower LX car on 2nd rallycross race, the average speed was higher than in the LX6 rallycross race - slightly above 104km/h,whole LX6 at Fern Bay's rallycross race reached just 98km/h. Obviously the faster turns of Blackwood made the difference.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
This time the race organizer himself put his name in this paragraph with a 10.22 seconds short work free pitstop. There was an even shorted work free pitstop, but Pitlaneracer wasn't classified in results as he retired early.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Technically Gábor started 30th and gained a total of 14 positions during the race - best positions gain from all drivers, even if he retired from race.

VOD at Youtube:

The 66th RTFR XL will be a fast one - an almost 1000 horsepower car has been selected for the race. Formula RC11 is a replica of previous year's F1 car and features lot's of grip and speed. It will be raced on 3rd longest LFS standard track - Aston Grand Touring. A server for laptime testing will be set up after next normal RTFR next week - regarding that race, since there is no broadcast planned as it's a off-standings race, combo has not even been decided for it,but we'll follow the path and host a non-slick tyres cars race.

2 years ago event at the Westschleife layout turned out to be success, last year's attempt to extend distance unfortunatelly was not so successful,so we'll return to original 300 kilometers distance this year. But to spice up the competition,we will add few more cars to last years selection of 5 original cars - a total of 39 different cars are up for selection in this year's race, all balanced to be on similar performance level to ensure that driving skill will be the deciding factor for entry's race pace. Cars' transmission layouts cover practically all possibilities - there are plenty of front wheel driven cars and all wheel driven cars, while rear wheel driven cars feature all 3 possible engine locations. Cars' weight ranges from lightweight below 600kg to heavyweight over 2000kg. Also engine size and power has huge variability - from 660cc 3 cylinder to 6.5 liter V8,while having also a V10 engine in the field, power ranges from 125 to 404 horsepower.

Also the track has received some updates - a total of 3 new sections have been added, one of them quite long, while 3 sections have been updated. Track length has been now extended to 14.42 kilometers and the track features a total of 84 turns (this number however is a bit variable as it depends from definition of a turn). To reach the distance of 300 kilometers,it is required to circle the track 21 times, where a good laptime will be below 9 minutes - with average speed a bit below 100km/h,the race length is expected to be over 3 hours. As always it will be allowed to race alone or in a team with up to 3 drivers - the track alone is an endurance factor,so it is highly advised to enter the race in a 2 or 3 driver team unless driver is ready for a proper endurance to race alone. A mandatory 30 seconds pitstop has been added to ruling this year as part of cars balancing and encourigement to create teams (some cars can finish race distance on single tank of fuel).

Timetable:
Sunday,12th June
15:45 UTC / 17:45 CET - 60 minutes open track qualifying
17:00 UTC / 19:00 CET - race start for the 21 laps race
* the shown CET time is current (summer) time - if not residing in CET time zone, always refer to UTC for correct time zone convertion!

Qualifying:

Due the track length an outlap is very long and takes more than 1/7 of the qualifying time - all the drivers should be patient and leave large gaps (preferably even out of visibility range) to ensure a clean hotlap! Organization is encouraging to drive multiple hotlaps back to back as it will ensure more completed hotlaps.
Multiple driver entries are allowed to qualify only with 1 driver! The driver who qualified the entry must complete a minimum of full 10% of entry's total distance during the race (3 laps in case entry completes whole distance)!

Race:
Race will feature an extended starting grid - cars will be placed on grid in rows seperated by 20 meters distance between them to lower the probability of early incidents. Every entry is expected to be familiar with pitlane entry, exit and driver change procedure for error free pitstops.
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 30 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Entry which has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by doubling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 10 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 150 seconds penalty added to finish time (30s*2 + additional 90s).

Track limits:
Due the low average width of the course it is important to point out about track limits - track is defined by paved surface (asphalt/tarmac/cobblestones) and 2 wheels have to be on it at all times! Drivers may not cut corners over grass and also may not run wide on grass when exiting turns with more than 2 wheels. If such event happens due a mistake, driver has to lift off throttle to make sure no advantage is gained. Fastest laps in both sessions will be checked for any violations while other drivers might be randomly checked during whole race. Best way to avoid any penalties is to stay fair!
There are serveral sections where leaving paved surface with all wheels is tolerated - these are marked with white and red chalk arrows. All around the track there are posts on both inside and outside of turns - even if these have no legal use and they are just visual help to determine track limits, drivers still should avoid knocking them down.

Cars and restrictions:
To level out performance of all 39 available cars,an restriction table has been created - the used restriction method is voluntary air restriction in percents. Each car has it's advantages and disadvantages, but overall deemed to have relatively equal performance after our limited testing.

Car setup limitations:

Slick tyres are not allowed!

It is advised to test several cars before signing up to decide the best car for your or your team's performance! Cars have different handling characteristics, some might be slightly less competitive. Cars list and their full specifications data can be found in this spreadsheet (test laptime and fuel range refers to 2021 layout where the testing was done).
Some cars still have WIP status and some do not have skins support.
Drivers are responsible to use correct restriction in all sessions and also in pre-event practice!
DISCLAIMER: Race Green Events is not affiliated to any of these user created cars! This means that organization of this event cannot affect existance and quality of these cars. We will contact mod creators 2 weeks before event start to ask them to withhold any perfomance affecting updates - before that we will monitor any updates and check for their effect on cars performance to decide if any alteration of restriction is needed.

Other info:
Blue flag behaviour - due long lap very rarely such occasion might happen. Even if the usual Race Green Events' rule of "you may not block lapping car's passing manouvre" is used also here,it is advised to try not to stay ahead of lapping car and let by in safe location before lapping pass is needed. Lapping cars still have to be very patient, wait for safe opportunity to lap and not force a pass in narrow turns.

Basic racing rules - we'll use as always basic rules of clean racing and judge incidents with common sense. It is advised to avoid any contacts in any situation to ensure clean and fair racing.

Rejoins - in case of time out, rolled or undrivable car it is permitted to rejoin the race. To ensure better visibility of race positions, the rejoined entry will receive back the completed laps as soon as possible - race administration will check the replay during race. If the timeout or telepit has happened before reaching 1st split of a lap,one lap will be deducted to avoid possible misuse!

Postrace action - after the distance has been completed,3 highest finishing cars are asked to take a place on a podium for post race media, located between tribunes. It can be accessed when followed the track - after the roundabout section on the left side of the straight. After top3 have taken their positions and photos are made, all other competitors also may join the area besides podium for further photo sessions.

Chatting - is limited during the race session. Allowed are short communications like appologies, thanking for letting by or between drivers of same entry when deciding when to pit and make driver swap, allthough it is encouraged to use external voice chat application (Discord,Teamspeak, phone call or whatever suits best). Race Green Events can offer a private voice channel in it's discord server if needed.
Unneccesary conversations will receive warning first and if not stopped - entry will receive drive-through penalty.
Not competing observers may not use chat at all!

Skins - specific car skins are not required in this race, allthough it is highly suggested to have a skin that displays entry number on car's side. Feel free to use event's official full logo on your skins! Also skins must fullfill lfsworld skin upload requirements and drivers may not use skins they don't have rights to use - like private skins of others or other teamskins.

Name format - entry number (may not be colored black or dark blue) required in front of your registered name, number and name must be seperated by a space.

Event server - server is online,is set in practice mode and has an Airio for laptime tracking (due hexadecimal code, most mods laptimes cannot be shown on simple !top table). Airio can spectate connections with very high and unstable ping for safety reasons (stable connections even from Australia should not be affected). Server will be open for public use until race weekend. For private practice feel free to use the attached layout.
Server link (click2join): Race Green Events

Event will be held using the latest stable version of LFS (currently 0.7D),compatible older versions are tolerated.

All information here can be changed,if so,notification will be posted about changes.
