Between 2024 series rounds 5 and 6 there are only 2 updates regarding cars, however another recently approved car is currently in approval voting in our discord server and currently it looks like it will make the race to get added in the series.

If cars with downforce needs to be accepted in series by community, cars without it can make into lineup by default of they get approved - the most recent addition to RandomCar is a relativelly small coupe 2020 HIRO CCF2 which is however a modern car and by no means a lightweight. Being 75kg heavier than the well known XRT,it features a 2.5 liter 6-cylinder engine with close to series average power. 4% intake restriction is required to balance it with other cars.

The lightest and least powerful car STELLAR K61 has been updated recently and due changes it was required to adjust balancing - instead of 80kg ballast it will now carry just 50kg.

[PR] Shinigami - receives 10 seconds penalty added to his finish time for pit exit line violation.

Formula XR with promotion from Fragmasters has turned into pretty much an LFS classic car,so after 3 years break the classic returned to RTFR XL. The selected track was relativelly simple as majority was run with throttle all the way down and upshifting, however these few sections without that were the ones deciding who's best and who's just rest. With 28 drivers qualifying and 27 starting the race, this surely was not a record breaking attendance, but still the most attended RTFR XL race between last 4. But there was some noticable driver who was not attending - the driver with active 4 race winning streak did not even attempt to stretch the series to new RTFR XL record.

One of the local LFS single seater junkies Gábor was on top of the results sheets this week - being fastest in both sessions he secured all the possible achievements for himself even if the results were everything else than dominating. Both pole position and fastest lap of the race were his 10th,with this tying for 2nd most in both charts, while the racewin was his 9th - still 3rd most, additionally the hungarian scored his 19th top5 finish and exceeded 300 laps led in RTFR XL. TJ was absent from RTFR XL for over 2 years, but returned with his best ever finish - 2nd place, which is an improvement by 2 positions and 3rd top5 finish out of 3 race finishes (5th race start however),the 2nd place finish is also repeated best result for all brazilian drivers here. The winner of this year's 1st race Zesty finished 3rd with a single position gain during the race - that's 4th top5 finish for the malaysian,R.Kardol finished 4th to extend his top5 streak to 5 and total top5 count was rounded up to 50. To complete S1dus dominance in the race,Unite finished 5th to make 4 of the same team in the top5 - 26th top5 finish for the finn.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Average race leaders count in RTFR XL has been stabilized to 2 in the past 29 races as all races had 1, 2 or 3 different leaders, for the 1st time since 60th RTFR XL (MRT @ Rockingham Oval had 6 race leaders) a race had more than 3 leaders as this tuesday there were 4 drivers finishing a lap as a leader,2 of those however just once.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
With ~120% of fuel tank needed to complete the race distance, there were no pure clock pitters this race, however many just refuelled the car and waited to 10 seconds for remaining time. The fastest legal pitstop was done by M@CI3K who also changed tyres in his 10.05 seconds pitstop.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Despite losing a total of 5 positions due penalty,M.Kapal still is the biggest gainer between start and finish - a plus of 10 positions is still 1 more than best of the rest.

VOD at Youtube:

Gábor is quick also with decisions and the next combo will be return of the most used car in RTFR XL - FZR will have it's 8th race in the series (2nd most used are UF1,XFG and LX4 with 6 races each) and 4th in South City, luckily for change it will be also 4th different configuration of South City - Town Course in reversed direction (run last in 38th RTFR XL with other GTR car). A 64 laps race will await racers in 4 weeks. Next week normal RTFR will return with one of the LFS own street legal cars - which and where can be found out if watching broadcast of previous race, full info as always will be posted on sunday. In 2 weeks time RandomCar will start up it's randomizer and draw all the entrants cars for a race in Kyoto's Sprint 8-track.
Race Green Westhill Tourist Trophy 2024 - information and discussions

Race Green Events will keep the relativelly new tradition alive - few weeks after the demanding car race on roads of Westhill also a bike competition will be held. Even if the attendance and especially the effort of riders last year was rather dissapointing (only 4 finished the distance, few others attempted),we're gonna try once again. Especially because the bike control has been updated since then and now - handling of the 2 wheel vehicles have been made somewhat more user friendly.

Format and track of this competition has not been changed compared to last year - still the same Westschleifenring, the simplified version of the annual car endurance race venue and still 2 laps ride around it to have a distance of 21.83 kilometers, which last year was completed in 9 and a half minutes. The organization has selected 26 bikes from various ages and bike types, removing full spec racing machines from selection and sorting out low quality or unrealistic performance mods. Again - despite the performance differences between these machines, all what will matter will be the skill of a rider - slower machine will be earlier in finish without falls than faster one which spends a lot of time getting up from falls.

To help out riders to finish their runs,we will offer once again insim help - an application that will put your fallen bike back to wheels without repairing damage and if needed - also turn the bike 90°. This is to ensure realistic possibility of real bike riding - poeple can back on bike after simple falls and continue the run despite some bruises. Still it is highly suggested to everyone willing to participate to join the event server before actual event and have some practice, set up the bike[s] and get to know the track!

Timetable:
Sunday,16th June
16:30 UTC / 18:30 CET - start of 3 hours open track time trial mode
19:30 UTC / 21:30 CET - end of session,no new runs can be started, all riders on track can still finish their runs
* the shown CET time is current (summer) time - if not residing in CET time zone, always refer to UTC for correct time zone convertion!

Guidelines during the event:
* Server will be password protected and password will be posted in this thread. No signups required.
* Riders will be allowed to start their runs with approx. 30 seconds gap.
* At the start of the session all riders will be called out in connections order, after the order has been complete, riders have to request a run by clicking on host's name (Race Green Events) in connections list and type "requesting a run". Riders will be queued in requests order and administration will allow them to join track, riders will have approx. 10 seconds time to join. Run request will be ignored if rider is still on track.
* There is no limit how many runs a rider can take, however it can be limited by amount of other participants and their run requests.
* In case of a fall, riders can put up the bike on wheels with command ";flip" (semicole+flip),there will be 2 seconds delay between command has been typed and executed. An additional command ";turn" (semicole+turn) will turn the bike 90° to the left direction. Note that commands are available only when the bike is stationary!
* There are no restrictions in bike or it's setup usage, however slick tyres are strongly suggested. In final results rider will be scored with best time of the session and the bike the time was set with.
* It is expected riders are familiar with the track and the bike they have selected, make sure you have at least some practice before the event.
* As per standard LFS rules, touching movable objects will add 2 seconds penalty, false start - 30 seconds penalty. These penalties will have affect the result of the run.

Rules:
* In case a faster rider has cought a slower one,the slower rider has to act similary as under blue flag - rider may not block an overtaking attempt, while faster rider has to pass in safe manner.
* It is forbidden to change name during event - participants should select their name (the one you usually use and wish to be identified with) before start of the event.
* Absolutelly no stopping on track - if for some reason a rider cannot continue his run, spectate and request a new run when it's possible again.

Other info:
*Event server - server is online,is set in practice mode with pratice layout (no time trial start) and has an Airio for laptime tracking (due hexadecimal code, most mods laptimes cannot be shown on simple !top table). Airio can spectate connections with very high and unstable ping for safety reasons (stable connections even from Australia should not be affected). Server will be open for public use until event day. For private practice feel free to use the attached layout. Server link (click2join): Race Green Events
*Event will be held using the latest version of LFS - 0.7E12.
*All information here can be changed,if so,notification will be posted about changes.

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

RTFR has been known for usung high variety of cars, from very slow to very powerful. This tuesday it was the case of high tier racing machine from very early 90ies,when 12-cylinder engines were in trend in the highest racing class. Proof of difficulty level was struggles for some drivers who are winning many races latelly in either RGE leagues or other organized ones - current RTFR standings leader was almost lapped twice. Despite difficulty level, the atrition rate was very low - from 22 starters there were only 3 DNFs,2 of those due technical issues - the trend is usually other way round.

Gábor's winning rate has gone down recently, however yesterday he was again on top of the game - he was fastest in qualifying by almost a second, scoring his 4th pole position in this scored season and 27th overall, but after start found himself in chaser's position for 5 laps, then the road to victory lane was free of competition - the hungarian led the remaining 19 laps to score his 33rd RTFR race win (2 weeks too late for numberology fans),setting record breaking 29th fastest lap of the race, which is now sole highest in RTFR history. Additionally Gábor rounded his top5 count up to 60,while this was the 40th race he led - also now all time highest, breaking a tie with Botsi. Unite finished the race in runner up position already 27 seconds apart leader with a progress of 4 positions between green and chequered - that's his best finish of this season and 80th top5 finish in total. Sean repeated his previous best finishing position by finishing 3rd after hard battle - 4th top5 finish into his account. His rival was TJ,who worked hard, but never found way pass for podium finish,so he had to settle for 4th position, which is is 8th top5 finish. Top5 was closed by Thehemuli, who scored his 2nd top5 finish in row and 10th overall.

VOD at Youtube:

Next week on the menu is yet another single seater, however it's a much easier LFS home grown Formula XR,which will be raced in Aston National reversed in the next edition of RTFR XL. Hints of next RTFR combo in 2 weeks were shown in the most recent broadcast, however in 3 weeks RandomCar will be run in Kyoto - on a custom configuration RGE Sprint 8-track,previously used in RTFR and STARL while ago.

RandomCar's 3rd stop in Fern Bay turned out to be an all midengined car race - top3 in qualifying and top4 in race were running car with this layout. A total of 17 different cars were used in this round, most popular in draw was XRT with 4 draws, however since half of them did not attend,in race the most popular was Acosta Starlin with 3 cars running. With 25 drivers attending this was the least attended round of the season, however with all 25 standing on grid this was not the smallest grid this year.

After missing round 4,J.Holmes returned to RandomCar action with the Acosta Starlin, which hasn't been used much through league's history, but he proved car's competivity in Fern Bay by setting fastest laps in both sessions and leading all 11 laps on the way to his 3rd RC race win, bringing the small italian based sports car to victory lane for the 1st time. For the 2nd time in row the runner up in race was R.Kardol, who run the defending manufacturers champion car URC1. Since the car has been changed between seasons,it's superiority is very limited now as the defending drivers champion had to work hard to keep up with the race leader to bring home 3rd podium finish in 3 tries. 3rd with over half minute gap was 136,who was running the agile XF Turbo 5,bringing it to podium from 5th position on the grid.

Top2 drivers in standings have not changed after round 5,however the points gap has reduced to 10 points between them - after half of the season M is leading over J.Holmes, followed by 136 in 3rd,who is already 31 points behind.

Same situation is in teams championship where top2 also kept status quo - B2R leads over defending champions RGA,however the points gap here is continuously increasing, now reaching 37 points. 3rd is now Team S1dus which jumped up from 5th position, however their gap to lead exceeds the count of their scored points - 98. Once again Lithuania scored most points in nations championship, growing it's advantage over defending champions Finland to 61 points,UK is increasing the gap over rest in race for 3rd position, but already 84 points apart leader. Top2 cars were not used in this round, therefor they keep their positions unchanged, however 3rd is now already withdrawn Coquette Z5. After next round 1st car can qualify for actual standings lead if XM-5 is used and scores it's 6th result which is minimum to be eligible for championship.

Talot is still the most drawn car in RandomCar with already 39 draws over 15 rounds,BZ30 and Imprezzive B2 still are following with 36 each - no real changes here. J.Holmes 1st position in both sessions were best achievements with Acosta Starlin, previous best were achieved by his closest follower in this race and were 6th in qualifying and 3rd place in race. Standings leader's run with the relativelly new Freud Serra was also the best achievement - 4th in qualifying and 6th in race are significantly better than Motimoukari's 25th/20th accordingly achieved in previous round. Yasin was the only one to run one of the new cars - he got the Poscher Caynam and scored the initial best results for it with 14th position in qualifying and 13th in race.

Again the track for next round has not been decided yet - the race winner selected already twice this season, reaching the limit,so the selection has been relayed to 2nd place finisher, who has the options between Autocross and Kyoto - noone has ever selected first of those,so traditionally we may expect visit in Kyoto in 4 weeks.

There is even simpler solution - no import options of any 3D objects. Everything has to be made in the track editor, only textures can be imported. Of course these might start problems too...

Quote from Scawen :We have just released a huge system "vehicle mods" and it is not finished. So we are not doing major changes to the layout editor, or going to release a track editor in any imaginable time frame.

Feel free to search more posts regarding this matter, but there is currently nothing that points about intentions to release the track editor in near future.

As much as I would like more quality tracks for racing (have ideas of my own I would try to attempt),releasing full track editor would surely open another can of worms while devs together with volunteer mod reviewers are dealing with the worms crawling out of other can (known as car mods) - legal issues, quality issues, decisions what can be published, what not...

Clearly said I'm not against user created tracks, but I'm worried about problems that could come with those...

Problems with connection to lfs.net website

I'm encountering in past few weeks problems with lfs websites (also both lfsworld.net and lfsmanual.net) - the websites load very slowly, sometimes not at all, same with attachments - pictures need minutes to load, sometimes not loading at all. Sporadically the website runs ok,but that usually is a shortlived effect - few minutes, not more. That happens however only from my home network - been using phone's hotspot for internet access when posting stuff here as with that connection website loads flawlessly. Same other way round - using phone's browser over home network, website loads very slowly, however no problems over 4G connection.

Was wondering if something wrong with my router settings or provider, now tested with some random free proxy IP in Firefox settings and guess what - works as fast as it should (using home network),so that should be proof there is nothing wrong with router or provider.

I attached simple ping results when using home network.

Other facts - I have absolutelly no connection issues with LFS ingame servers,as connection is fast, stable and mods list loads as fast as it always had.
However in last few weeks I've been encountering also problems with Discord (which as we know is also hosted by same provider) - text is loaded ok,but any directly attached pictures/gifs/videos load slowly or not at all, then suddenly by next opening of specific channel they're loaded fine.

Could wonder long what has gone wrong there, but before complaining to anyone,I need info how to find what causes the problems - what tests I can perform to find that?

The 5th edition of the yearly Westhill endurance race had 2 increasements - the distance was increased to 400 kilometers for the 2nd time and the grid featured the biggest number of cars on it. From 27 signups 2 were never completed,1 withdrew,2 never arrived, but all remaining 22 qualified and also started the 22 laps race. There were entered 3 each 3-driver teams and 2-driver teams, however once again most entries were solo drivers, but from 16 of those only 9 actually completed full race distance. 11 different cars were entered, most popular for 2nd year in row was Piranmoto Firefly with 6 entries (twice as much as last year),followed by LFS's own RB4 with 4 entries, however 7 entries were running unique cars.

For the 3rd year in row the top running car is RB4,for the 2nd year in row it was driven by Born 2 Race team driver, however the driver itself was different this year - it's the lithuanian known using a single letter M for his name. He was the fastest in qualifying by over 1 second and led 19 of the 22 laps on his way to convincing race win, beating his own set lap record by 3.4 seconds during the race. M finished the race with over 1 minute big advantage and that despite drifting few turns during last lap as he was encouraged to do so by fans. This is a huge improvement compared to his only previous attendance of this event last year where he qualified 6th and completed just 5 of 22 laps to be scored 14th,which is last position between starters.

Another 2nd in row is 2nd place finishing team - YES motorsport repeated the performance of last year, but this time running FXO instead of other FWD car and having 3 different drivers to drive it. The team had deffinitelly a lot of experience and success in luggage - Trespasser was part of winning team in inaugural edition,Gábor was part of winning team in 2022 edition and their 3rd driver Lagooga was in runner up team last year. They led 3 laps due different pitstop strategy, but eventually had to concede and settle for 2nd place finish. During 4 previous runnings podium always featured 3 different cars (also in 2020,where only 3 cars were available),this year this tradition was broken - officially by 3rd place finisher Twin, who put 2nd RB4 on the podium. The defending winner just like last year run same car and did it alone, but this year got outrun by stronger competition as he finished 2 minutes 40 behind race winner.

For the first time in event's history the race was broadcasted live by SimBroadcasts.tv crew, giving the chance everyone outside event to see the action live with all the makes and breaks of the race. They put together a lot of effort setting up probably record amount of cameras for the 18km track and their commentating trio were around all 4 hours of race duration plus race recap. For those missing the livestream, here is the chance to rewatch the race on Youtube:

From 31 participating drivers,12 already had previous experience in this annual event - 4 of those in 3 or more runnings, however only 1 driver is now left being running on each edition as the other one was travelling at this time. With 3 previous winners this of course was the biggest gathering of those compared to previous editions, let's hope for at least 4 of them next year! Track extension coupled with longer mandatory pitstop length led to lower average speed compared to last year - winner's average speed was 100.04km/h,which is 3 less than last year.

Regarding future plans - there is one concept of possible extension of the track, extending it by estimated 1km,but that still has to be tested. Of course the 2 faster cars will have it's power cut once again to reduce their supremacy, motivating entrants to select more different cars, adjusting their balancing if needed - all of that will be started as always around january with 1st preperations of the 6th annual edition. Then we will check the situation of racing community to decide if it's ready for distance extention to 500km (another step towards wished 1000km),stay with 400km or go back to basics.

Race Green Events thanks all drivers for participation and guys behind the scenes for their input and efforts, especially J.Palmer from NDR for his administration and timing tools and Jam for his Carlimiter application. As always everyone is welcome to share their experience from the event, either in form of text, pictures or videos! Also (even if that rarely happens) - we're awaiting winner's speach!
