The AI does not use the setup provided by the driver when it comes to fuel. if i want to have one AI start with fuel for 20 laps and one for like 30 laps to find out if a 2 or 3 stop strategy is better for a race, i can't do that...
this prevents also the use of the AI as a pacecar, as i can't put in only 1% fuel to have something like flying start.
first of all, suspension damage should not be possible to be repaired at all. at the moment you get a complete new car when entering the pits. which is absolutely unrealistic.
the good thing in the rFactor scene is you can play other games and nobody is writing: "wtf why are you playing this crap". i only get this feeling here... and this is the most thing that pisses me off, especially on this forum. the closed-mindedness. you can argue about rFactor that they don't have a community like here in lfs where everyone meets up in this forum. but to be honest, there are about 25 people in this forum who predefine which opinion should count and argue with knifes and scissors down everyone who is against that opinion (e.g. helmets, driving aids, other games, ovals, development, changes, improvements, ...)
sure both games have advantages and disadvantages but in the end its everyones decision if he likes variety (with all its advantages and disadvantages) or developer-guided development (with all its advantages and disadvantages)
for me i am at the moment more interested in rFactor because it offers more the stuff i like, but as soon as lfs brings out new stuff i am surely back to give it a try. i am also here for quick pickup-races when in rFactor no mod i am interested in is running. but thats the good thing with personal freedom: you can choose what you like, where you like and when you like....
i don*t want to be the **** now, but at the end of the day: the player model does not make the driver or the opponent faster or slower in any kind of way. so where is the problem?
ok i see a reason if you do broadcasting and want to have all drivers wearing helmets, but it still does not have any influence on the race itself.
it COULD have an influence if you force the driver view to cockpit and the helmet gets dirty during a race like in F1 1997 (yeah that was 10 years ago...) but at the moment i see no problem with people wearing no helmet... its actually always a good laugh sometimes.
Edit: i cleared this post because it will be useless anyway...
all i want to say is: there are more things which are much more urgent then the fuel consumption. IMO it is still too low on racecars or the cars can carry way too much for their size. future updates should enforce the need to pit and get fuel or tires or whatever... and no repair of suspension and deformation but... as i stated after the: edit NOTHING OF THIS WILL HAPPEN SOON...
server admins make their decissions sometimes for the good sometimes for the bad. but if you are nice and talk to them, you probably get a second chance.
anyway. there is ALWAYS a reason for a ban. if i am admining a server (only FM oval starters or FM 360 Event!) i give people 2 or 3 chances. which means: first a warning, second a kick, third a ban.
the only exceptions are: Rude language against me or any other driver i know, driving the wrong way and cheating.
these will result in an instant ban from 1 day to XXX days depending on the action. for this reasons i have autosave on to provide a replay.
and by the way: for this one guy who complained about failure, first beat him on track or one of his stats-records (lfs-world) then come again.
and at the end of the day it is: the one who owns the server, sets the rules (which is fm failure). if you don't like it, don't join.
i think about league races with 130+ laps. i don't spectate every car for 130 laps just to see if he has some times during the race this cheat in use for 5 seconds. sorry that is just way too much work.
and also not worth a discussion. it is clear the devs HAVE TO fix this issue. if you have a bug or a door for an exploit you have to fix it as a developer.
