does this work if i gave my AI names?

actually you can race more then one lap.

if you do not order the split times in the correct order.

i did it for one of my layouts and it works. you can have 3 laps of racing

thanks for the information. maybe i can learn this by myself. maybe...

i will not ask you becky, because i know in what kind of "work" you are a the moment. and as far as i know, this "work" needs the time and will also bring lfs a step further.

let's see, if i can bring this to work by myself...

are you talking about the "nordschleife" or the modern nürburgring?

+1 for nordschleife
-1 for modern nürburgring

but i think the problem is: the devs are not going to give out any development tools at the moment. this means, only the devs can model the whole thing, which means it takes ages to have the complete track in a acceptable quality.

becky, can you give me more details on this, because you know, i have problems with the RCM as well during the cautions. when lapped people don't see the RCM FULL COURSE YELLOW and stuff.

i like the idea of having the grid in the correct order... the problem in lfs is, we don't have a system that checks this and gives a guide for the drivers in LFS.

in lfscar, it is a bit different with the lapped cars and the leaders go to pit.
we stay out the first lap with pits only open for wrecks. when the pacecar is in front of the leader, the pits are open for everyone. if the leaders pit in, and there is a lapper in the front of the pack, then right behind of the pacecar when the leaders pit in, he is allowed to pass the pacecar as well. but this has nothing todo with lucky dog rule in lfscar. lucky dog is still the first car that is a lap down in the rankings. just to make it easy. drivers have enough problems to follow all rules during a Caution at the moment...

Quote from IceMan31x :World Of Outlaws came to bristol and they covered that in mud as well (sprint cars) 15.55 is the fastest time there. Bristol FTW!!

is that because of the rebuilding of the track. i've heard they are going to brake down the whole track and rebuild it with logarithmic bankings.

Quote from Woz :-1, there are many many dickheads that are fast. They are the ones that think racing is hotlapping and just drive flat out all the time. They then come up on a slower person and expect them to be as fast through a corner. End result they wreck you. They then shout at you because its YOUR fault they rear ended you

I am much more for the chess style rating system. Everyone starts with a the same rating. After the race you rating is adjusted. If you beat a person that has a higher rating than you your rating goes up and if you lose to a slower person your rating goes down. There are a few other subtle ways rating can change. A DNF means you got beaten by everyone so your rating takes a big hit. The same calculation is performed on your rating against everyone in the race.

The end result is a bell curve of values where the cream are at the top, the noobs/wreckers are at the bottom and everyone else is in the middle.

In this sort of rating the fast but dickhead drivers end at the bottom because they alway cause a wreck and hence never finish.

where are disconnected people? or people that get crashed out? they will lose against all others but can't be held responsible for it, can't they. its like taking away half of your chess figures just because the other player falls over an hits the chess-board....

i don't have any sponsors so all you can get from lfscar.com is honor, fun and a virtual trophy at the and. if you win the kyoto 360 you get a virtual silver plate with a name engraved. if you win the complete series you get a virtual silver cup with your name engraved in it. (which can be seen under www.360degree.tk)
ok and i can offer a free stay (just the stay not the flight ect.) in my flat in austria for a week, if you are willing to help with washing up and stuff )

finding sponsors is really difficult. i think stcc has some goodies but it took them half a year to get the logitech sponsoring...

i would like to have something like in real world: everyone who wants to start in a league has to pay an entry fee (not much, 1-5 euro), which will be divided up after the race according to the position. so good drivers earn real money and bad ones earn not that much. or the money will be spent on the trophy. but i am not sure if this is legal, wished and tolerated by the developers.

just a question, what if a driver is fast in his average lap times but still a crasher when having people around?

fast laptimes does not mean good drivers, that only means good hotlapers

Quote from J.B. :
you may never push a car off the track in a corner, even with small overlap. Overlap is not mentioned, only intent.

exactly. no more comments needed. in my opinion.

and as most of the servers run "common racing rules" then all those servers will steward it as this. (with the exception of banger racing of course)

i think i found a workaround:

when the admin switches to the leading car, the lucky dog is the first guy who does not a time-difference on the right side in the position list.

however this does not work on AU1 or BL3

thats the problem with lots of circuit racers. they can't go through a turn when there are other cars around them. they can go very fast when there are cars behind or in front of them. but not when they have to go through a corner 2 or 3 wide. always sticking on the ideal line no matter what, and always blame it on the guy who was next to them. some realy act like they were AI drivers. giving a damn shit about whats going around them.

the problem there with public servers is, they will always get away with this tactic and be faster then just brake a bit more and let space for the cars around them. if it is an administrated server they will be penalized with this attitude.

in short: if someone is not holding his line and crashes out a car next to him (which is what you describe) it is his fault not giving room. hey may have the right of the corner but not the right to push off other cars on the track. it is as simple as that. even if it is completely his turn, he does not have the right to push off other cars. he won't do that in real life.
