thh fzr is faster off the line but thats neglect able as we are running flying starts. again, i think the cautions won't have that much of an influence either as i expect 2 cautions per race.
oh there is one more thing to say: there will be an R2 tire restriction for all cars
you are right with most of your thoughts but one thing is the fact at the moment: if you have races like i am going to do, the FZR will win every single one just because its much faster. does not matter with or without drafting. the only chance for an XRR is when he can stay in the draft of the fzr. but if there are fzr behind those two and are drafting, they will catch up.
so the main question is: is 1% enough to slow the fzr down or is it too much or is it not enough
i mean, if there is no safe way in balancing both cars for the oval, then i will stick to XRR only again. i mean i cannot influence drafting or cautions but i can influence the weapons for everyone. if the weapons are equal, everyone has the same chances of drafting and tactic
As some of you might know i am going to start the 3rd season of LFSCAR 360° CUP Series in the near future (www.lfscar.com)
I am planning to race with both rear wheel driven GTR cars in next season, unfortunately the FZR is (when you compare the world records) almost 2/10 of a second faster on the oval. (same driver, being perfect with both cars and perfect in line)
with my testing so far, i could say if you put air restriction for the fzr to 1% you will lose about 9/100 of a second.
taking into account the fzr has more fuel load most of the time.
so my thesis is:
if you give the FZR a 2% air restriction on the oval, this should level both cars out in a 130 laps race. i think fuel won't be the problem as we will have cautions anyways... and as far as i could test it, the fuel is calculated into the 1%
what do you guys think. this is just for leveling out on the oval with roling start!
ok just try out one thing: put some training wheels on a bike (you know the ones you have when you were learning how to ride a bycicle) and then TURN the steering... what will happen? if you are slow nothing.... if your fast, you will probably make a nice highsider...
DUDE IT IS BOTH! you need body and arms to gat a motorbike on a racetrack around if you want to go in a decent speed.
i do not get why there is a discussion about this anyway.
let's say it this way: i did not check out every possibility ...
but for those of you who want to know: i was assuming AI drivers in GTR cars (especially in the FXR) on south city classic reverse were not able to pass the chicane without crashing...
either the drivers learned how to pass through while i was testing different setups or its a setup issue or they forgot about teh crashes they had there before...
anyway now they can go through the chicane safely
BUT, my suggestion for that part of the track: tear down those houses and make the chicane wider.... with more space on the sides...
in a real car you can feel the brake and push the pedal according to that feeling. as most people in lfs do not have a pedal which is close to what is in a car, i do not see any use of being realistic about something which is not realistic by default
the lfs remote tool is a great feature but it has one small bug. when there is a race on autocross pad it tracks everything correctly but it does not sort the drivers by the split progress however it shows the split progress correct.
i think this is just a small thing to fix, just sort the grid by split-progress everytime a car passes a split-point.
should be a minor thing to fix, as remote is able to sort it at the end of the race the same way...
just a question, am i allowed to trade in a spot on the qualifying grid to a car behind me. for example i am on the very outside in row 5 can i trade in that spot with someone in row 6+ on the very inside?
to be honest i am not sure if 3 wide starts are possible but i'll be glad if it works out!
even the best simulator is still virtual not reality. wrecking a car after a race does not harm anyone. and form my point of view i do not have a problem with it.
so the easiest solution to this "problem" would be some sort of autopilot after a car passes the finish line.... or even better: after a car passes the finish line it gets a ghost and collision model is turned off. OR MUCH BETTER: after a car passes the finish line it just spectates.
the only real problem with "respect" in that field i can see is when you are close of being lapped and the leading group passes you and wrecks you out even though you still have to complete your lap.
THAT is not respectful. or those idiots who go the wrong way even though not everyone has finished the race.
but again after everyone has finished the race why not wrecking everything... the repairs are for free!
B 100%. whenever you leave the racing track you lose all your rights of way no matter what. so there is no excuse for driver B what so ever. i do not get how many voted for A
maybe you forgot about it: i suggested to have a 1 pts per driven lap bonus for stuff like banger racing / endurance racing. you said you will implement it in next release.
maybe i am too stupid to find it. or maybe you just forgot about it.
