most servers (especially public servers) are crowded by 12-17 year old kids who give a god damn poo about rules post race. "the standard of driving" is over after the race which is in my opinion not a bad thing.
everyone who wants can drive to the pits and spectate then, all the others can wreck their brains out. i still do not get what you want with this suggestion.
do you wnat to force everyone else to enjoy the game exactly the way you enjoy it? if you want to run a server, take care of the server. end of story. if you want to run on clean servers go to servers which have that kind of rules.
if you want to wreck after the race, go to servers which allow this kind of behaviour.
we do not need rules like this for all servers. period.
i do not want to repeat myself but: DON'T BE SO ANAL
whats the use of driving to the pits after a race? whats your next suggestion: No shift-s? hell its a game... why are people so anal about realism.
there are at least 1000 things i would change first to improve realism in this game which are more fun and have a better benefit to the general user then this bs.
i can see a point on event servers and league races but on public servers... btw. if a server host does not want it, and he is a responsible host, he will watch the server most of the time and kick people who do not behave according to the server rules.
i start liking the race format of the Sprint All-Star Race and might adopt that for LFSCAR.
100 laps race divided into 4 quarters with a 5 lap caution in between each quarter and a mandatory pitstop. (total of 115 laps/race). NO other cautions during the race.
winning a quarter will give bonus points.
and a basic point-system of: 1pts per lap + additional bonus (leading, fastest lap, climber,...)
write to FPR Yankman, he has done some similar things. i am not sure how far he is, or if he is willing to share the tool but, at the last testing we did, it was very promising. (giving penalty for speeding at the start, overtaking, not holding position, placing the pacecar and sending it in with messages given out ...)
i am 100% with atledreier. some time in the near future the game is outdated when it comes to sound/graphic and maybe physics, which is sad. heck the game does not even take adavantage of a multicore cpu or an advanced graphic card. this is good for those who do not have a high end machine like me but its defo nothing for the future.
we do not even have proper pitting or a day/night rythm... don't talk about rain...
the game won't improve in big steps as to get on the todays technical standard it would need a complete rewrite.
we are in S2 ALPHA!
so S3? dream on...
but anyway, this game is the best enjoyment i've had the last years appart from my girlfriend and guitars
and probably the only thing that will rescue this ship from going down the drain is opening it up for new content like cars and tracks...
and do not say anything about "rights and money" other games have tons of cars and tracks for years and nobody really cares. its just an excuse not an explanation...
i do not say: open it up for modding, because this will end in frustration as in rFactor sometimes... but they should give the community the chance to add new content which can be reviewed by the devs and then put in the next autoupdate.
to be honest, my league will not start until june, as i wont be able to race until end of may due to job issues so, just go ahead with your leagues.
what i can do is helping to provide a webpage for every oval league and let it run under the domain www.lfscar.com with subdomains for the leagus
there is actually only one rFactor league running, so there is plenty of room to add your leagues. i can setup the websites with wordpress and a basic "racing" layout just like the gp79 design but with different colors and you guys will get admin rights for your leagues. so you can write the articles, rules, tracks and results ect.
so we can have something like:
LFSCAR XRT STOCK CAR LEAGUE
LFSCAR INDY LEAGUE
LFSCAR 360° CUP SERIES (with he GTR class)
gathered on one page.
i also can do the logos if you want to. and setup a forum, allthough my experience with a private forum were not good. i had a private forum in season one of lfscar and the private forum was not used the way i wanted it to be used, so i switched to the official forum. maybe if we have those 3 leagues running we can get a subforum here for each league but gathered under the lfscar main thread. the only requirement i have is: the leagues should be somehow be semipro. i don't want any kindergarden on my webspace and under the name of lfscar. so the admins or the one who is responsible for the league should be at least 18 years old.
i did not steel it. i am glad if you will do the indy kind of thing...
that sounds cool...where is the link to your league? because... if you do the indy thing i can do the lfscar (gtr) league and may be joining in your league as a driver *g*
my ideas for the indy thing were: ky1, ky1 rev, ky1 chicane, south city town, mabe another aston config, ky1 500, something like that, just a few suggestions. the old CART points system seems to be the fairest... but i also thought about a more "active" system where people will get 1 point for every lap they are doing. so people stay on the server even if they crash out at first half of the race.
i am not sure if it is possible, but is there a way to give 1 point for every driven lap? maybe you can add this option? would be nice for things like banger racing or endurance racing...
@ hariel-HUN-
thanks for your kindness. the thing with the FM oval server is, the simple fact it is public. and therefore there are some rules which makes live easier there. the rules are set up by the server host, and there is no discussion about it (blocking, staying on track...) which is good imo. as long as everyone is staying gentle and does not use swear words this system works for most of the time.
on the event server the rules are set up by the event host. therefore i do not have such things as "don't block the inside,..." in events, as it is part of racing imo.
i would love to do 2 series to be honest, but i do not have the time/capacity to do so. but i like the idea, with having a "race of champions" in the end in a neutreal car (like the LX6 *g*)
if you set the split times in reverse order behind the start finish line, you'll get sort of 3 "laps". which means you will have to drive 3 times around the track to finish.
i made one as well, if you set up the split times in REVERSE order BEHIND the start finish line you'll get 3 "laps". you will get only one lap counted but you have to pass the course 3 times to reach the finish line.
