In my opinion improper controllers should be allowed, but without any aids. At least I felt really betrayed few days ago, when I realized that back in my momo days I wasn't fast because of my car control skillz but more likely because flatshifting, paddle shifting, button clutch, auto-blipping, turning only 240 degrees etc. Now I feel really bad for those who may have lost a race to me because of using more realistic controls. I would have been much happier if the aids didn't exist in the first place.
And now that I had a chance to get the proper gear, I either don't want a wing commander outbrake me by just pulling back, not to speak of a teenager pressing 'z'.
I understand debates about forced camera positions, driver positions or turbo lag, but how on earth can somebody speak for driver aids? The sooner they're gone the better.
And what comes to thread title, haven't tortured anyones clutch like that in real life, but in LFS you can flatshift and kick the clutch quite a lot without any extra heat
I can't believe how different this is now than year ago with Momo wheel. Several hours of practising, yet I'm 5 seconds off the pace, unable to brake properly, unable to recover spins, and miss-shifting every lap, but I'M LOVING IT!
Keep up the good work, Scawen!
EDIT: Afterall it wasn't that different, but helluva lot better!
You are very right about LFS being close to reality! I had never oversteered in a rear wheel drive car before, but only because of being used to do it in LFS, it only took about 5 minutes to drift a real car in the same exact way. I'm still very very impressed when I think about it!
Warranty starts the day it's bought. If you buy it from a retailer (dunno if those sell by ebay, at least here they do via local web auction) it will, but if you buy it from a consumer, the warranty is stated on the warranty recipe.
OT: I finally ordered my G25 today, and got a 2-year warranty with it!
But what I've heard, theres a good chance for the shifter to break...
A drift car differs from current cars when it comes to looks, power, tires and steering lock. Ability of who can drift what has nothing to do with this, and you should know it with that post count.
Admitting that you haven't read the thread in a stupid and useless post is even more stupid.
A Finnish man usually seems more or less emotion-dead on the outside. At least my Russian girlfriend and her mum are often amused by their boyfriends' 'typical Finnish sullen behaviour' I feel generally very happy at most times, but instead of smiling and jumping home from a shop like a Little Red RidingHood in the woods, by default my face is like I'd be in a funeral and I rarely start a conversation unless I really have something to say.
1) We have the improvement suggestions board for improvement suggestions and bug board for bug reports.
2) You should always first decide what you are trying to say when opening a thread. If you don't have anything to say, it may be best not to just do it.
He wasn't insulting the people, he was just pointing out that most of this negative feedback without proper arguments seems to come from (inexperienced-ish) drifters. And feels natural it doesn't make drifting or drifters seem any better in his eyes.
the discussion about driftcars is actually pointless. it only add something extra to the sim. what does it bother you if people drift or race?
Because creating non-racing related content delays creating racing related content.
Who drifts and who doesn't isn't related to this thread in any way. If you ignore Tristan (that I think you should do), nobody is bashing drifting in this thread. <-- That's right, kamkor.
When they start to improve the damage modelling, I certainly hope and believe that they don't just make some invisible boxes that determine deformation and engine damage, but instead like they have done before on several other aspects of the game - be the first that take it to the next level, modelling the structure of the bodies and parts so that the cars break somewhat realistically, affecting the looks and fuctionality as it should.
Even though it could be fast to implement, doing something "small" like you suggested is completely just waste of time and resources if they are going to redo it later anyway. When the devs do something, they do it properly and work on it as long as it takes, and that's about the best thing in LFS after the driving itself.
There's no need for voice communication in random pickup race servers imo. What would you need to say to the others that you can't type? Nothing. I can think only negative points.
And more organized things, well they're organized, so you can easily organize communication services too.
