well i must say im gutted Skarpegg, im trying to hold back the tears here but...... oooooo geeeesh, how will we all sleep tonight knowing that your not around any more... this is to mutch!...

all those posts were you helped your fellow drivers and had us in stiches laughing, and its all come to an end..

A D I O S!! .......

now this is why i LOVE!!!!!!!!!!! the latest patch, its filtering out all those twonks that have supercars all over there bedroom walls and think given the chance they could show MS how its realy done when they dont even know how to change gear.... and use the word "CLUTCH" in there company and they look at you like you have a dead dog taped to your head .....

common dev's MORE realism!!!!!!!,

carnt wait till the damage model get done fully.... then LFS will be racing heaven!!!!!, i can see it now....

"scawen whats this all about!!!!!, i was online just and had a collision at turn one, i whent strait into the back of him, i didnt brake as it slows me down, in the last patch i could do this and HE would be shunted off the track, but since this new patch and this CRAP you call a damage model this is no longer the case, my car was totaled!!!! i only hit him at 120mph and he was doing about 50!!!!!!, my engine just died (would not start again) and all my front wheels were all messed up!!! whats this crap all about!!!??? i carnt enjoy racing like this... now i have to use my brakes and AVOID yes thats right AVOID other cars on the track in front of me!! this is stupid...

i was on my brothers playstation and was on NFS carbon, i am the fastest on there, i use the walls to bounce me round the corners, and i hitt walls at 200mph quite frequently and i still finish first everytime, so dont tell me i dont know how to drive cus race me on NFS and i will own ya ass all day!, call this a sim pffft well i wont be plaing anymore just thought i would let you know that..
ADIOS! crap drivers"

is it just me or are you all looking forward to those posts and get rid of these idiots who think a big bore exhaust on a metro is a cause to click there fingers while saying "naaaaaaa das baaaaad maaaan buyakacha" and think the guy driving it is some kind of driving god....

ooohhh common devs xmas break over, lets get rid of these idiots and get the real simers/racers in!!!! .....more realism!!!!

Quote from andybarsblade :well without a replay its hard to say, but your statment "that wheel as got the best chance of holding under braking there" doesnt make sense to me, the rears will not lock with a good setup as the bias will be to the front, the left front has the most weight on it as it on the outside of the car so to me the right front is the one that will lock if any, i remember running fox and f08 round there right front were forever locking. but my thoughts are only based on those cars as i have not driven the fbm round there yet

ok i see where your comming from,

as regards brake bias your right if your just braking, but throw engine braking into the bowl and the rear's can lock pretty easy as the is no weight over the back, but again its all setup/driving style specific, some drivers downshift slow and some just dive down the box...

as regards the weight transfer, i was talking about the point when you first hitt the brakes, now for me at this time 9x outa 10 there is more weight on the right due to me slowly stearing onto the rumble, your talking about braking while turning into the apex, something i dont really like doing there personly as you get the problem you just mentioned and the car feels in a unstable state to me..

but i still stad by the the fact i dont belive for one second this is caused in t1,

Quote from Bob Smith :Other way round. High parallel steering will cause lots of scrub during tight turns. Try driving with 100% then with 33%. Apart from losing some understeer, you're front tyres should run cooler.

bob surely thats a 2 way thing? to low you get scrub to high you get scrub? i would have thought you would get more heat from the low P/S?

Quote from bbman :Check your setup... Do you have low parallel steering and/or big toe-out? It could be your right inside wheel is constantly scrubbing through the right turns...

exactly

im sorry i fail to see how braking on t1 would cause that!, that wheel as got the best chance of holding under braking there, the weight is on that corner and lower presures hence way more grip!, TEST it and watch in forces view on a replay, its the most stable wheel of the car, unless you have 99% front brake bias!!...

as for the left handed turns on BL, ok theres no braking but the car is accelerating hence the exit oversteer...

looking at t1 your wasting your time unless you have 30deg camber on the right wheel, its near enough imossible to get that wheel to lock and and not the left wheel with it!

your understearing somewhere! is my thoughts

hhmm strange, there are a few things it could be though....

most obviouse is pressures, some people like low presures on that wheel (for BL1) as in normal curcumstances its near impossible to get heat into it, so just guve that a quick check over (although you have probably already done that)...

parralel steer has caused me to get some strage heating cycles in the past this is normal if its very low (non paralel) ....

your camber could be WAY out and causing scrubbing in the bends and high temps...

but to me it sounds like you have understeer on exit, if the right rear seems pretty mutch ok thats what it normal is, BUT you say the front left is ok, soooooo, clutching at straws here but i would say its in that ballpark, personly i would take a look at your damper setup, that tire should not be getting that warm on that track...

as for braking for t1 you dont really lock up the front right for because the left will give first due to being on the rummble strip (if u use it) pluss 9x outa 10 you have less pressure in the right tires giving more grip under breaking .... so if any tire SHOULD give its the left.....

IMO its a BIG damper problem coupled with driving style

hope ya get it fixed

duno what all the fuss is about tbh...

drive like a twonk you get a smoldering clutch, drive like ya should and you shouldnt have any problems...

ive tried in several cars to get the clutch hot in race conditions (alas offline) and i can only say ive failed , i had to park up against a wall, floor the throttle and hover the clutch half way just to break the ice off .... no offence but if your cooking you clutch in 10 laps you must be driving like caveman......

i know this is a personal thing weather u like it or not, but all this talk about "drivers breaking to late" shouldnt really be a factor as this has nothing to with the track its self, its the DRIVERS not adjusting to the new track, ok im no alien but even i have learnt its new braking points...

thats like adding weather and saying it sucks because everyone is breaking to late into corners.... well thats what i think anyway

as for the turn after the long strait..... i partly agree it was only the runoff that needed tweaking there, and if they had just made that runoff smaller in width its would have changed the whole corner anyway without a totay "turn revamp", to be mildly fast you had to use every inch of that runoff, i do think the esses is better though, although i dont drive in in REV so i carnt comment there....

personly i have fell inlove with BL again its got its venom back, i just LOVE the esses now and a LOT MORE technical overal, the runoff's took the longest to get used to but overall i think they did a awsome job and well worth the dev time...

i was feeling a little run down today till i read this!!! just awsome! ...

im still scratching my head wondering where all these bad posts are coming from??? i carnt see how a sim getting more realistic is a bad thing?? saying that maybe its us... maybe the devs have been sending electrical impulses through our wheels and brainwashing us???.....

oohh yea and scawen for "prime minister"

ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!!

im sick of all this "NEW PATCH IS CRAP"...

personly i think this is the BIGGEST patch to date in teams of moving on, BLACKWOOD is just awsome now, took some getting used to but BL is fun now and its a LOT more technical...

car phisics? well so far im more than pleased, and im left scratching my head what all this clutch whining is all about, dont put excess pressure on the clutch and its good to go, abuse it well u pay the price,

my score 99% ad only 99 cus i think the rev limiter kicks in a TAD to soon but hey who am i to complain i love it!!!!!!!!!!

ooohh common!!!! you carnt expect him to take all this in in one go!!! one step at a time!

i had this problem ages ago, and you can try every driver under the sun no good LOL, i had to edit the registry to get it to work....

ive dug round for my old cd's and found em

now i did 2 for some reason (been ages) so just try em, theres 2 in there, that should sort ya problem

thx for the reply mazz.....

i contacted TM and asked them say it cannot be done , and a regedit will not help either, ive split and combined axis's before through regedit but aparently no go on the RGT.

i thought about using scripts within LFS but that wouldnt work either would it???

as you say if you canot soft edit the axis it may have to be a stripdown job, any more ideas flying about?

shame cus so farm im happy with the wheel

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :Last time this was posted everyone pretty much accepted that the article prefered R-Factors version because it was easier to drive, sounded better and looked better. LFS doesn't have all the graphics and sounds because it is doing something R-Factor never did, making sure the game works before chucking glitter all over it and selling it as a 'finished' product.

R-Factor for me is like that Vauxhall Corsa you see on the front cover of Redline magazine, £10,000 worth of parts, fancy bodykit and sound system, chrome spinners...but a 1.2litre diesel engine. LFS is the stripped out, race tuned one that you see lapping Porsches at club level motorsport. (GTR is the Porsche)

In general people accept that LFS won't fair well in mainstream reviews, because they focus on the finished product and the all round package. So lets wheel this comment out of the garage and give it a wash and wax, LFS is not a finished product.

couldnt have put it better my self.. perfect post

i need a bit of help here with the RGT...

i want to set the progressive levers to look left and right, sounds easy i know, BUT each lever is on a separate axis!!, so i carnt set it to "look heading" in the axis menu because it will only take 1 axis...

in the buton's menu, you cant choose a axis ....

so i need to combine the to lever axises to 1 axis, for some idiotic reason tm didnt incorperate this into the softwear, LFS is near un editable so i have now choice but to do it from the wheel side and not LFS (unless you guys have a idea)...

so is there a way of combining 2 axis into one via regedit or somthing???

any help would be grate

Quote from Bob Smith :C++ is not memory managed, remember. When making games for consoles you know exactly what hardware the software will be used on so you can get it to use exactly 100% of the memory and processor, for maximum performance/effects. When making games for multiple consoles these hardware limits change so you're code needs to cope with this.

When it comes to complex mathematics, some CPUs will be faster doing it one way, while others will be quicker another way. So your maths functions should use whichever method executes fastest for the platform you are compiling on.

bob u lost me on the C++ bit

well i thought this was bloomin stupid when i heard about it some time back.... and i still think its stupid..

i mean whats comming next? an underwater event? its just totaly nuts, no need for it imo, and i duno why but i just dont like the idea safety wise, dont ak me why i just got a feeling about this, that this idea will be scraped for the wrong reasons..

there are lots of problems with f1 and this is not one of em, i carnt pretend that i havent fell asleep during a f1 race becasue somtimes its boring (and im a big f1), we need closer racing and more driver dependant cars..

if they want to throw there weight about and dish out new reg's

bring back slicks NOW
kill TC
ban winglets
cut the crap on this "adjustable wing from the cockpit" idea..

at the moment the cars are holding THE DRIVERS back, aero wise, sort it out and lets see some scraps!!! sort that out, then give us cars that show how good the drivers are, nailing the throttle out of a slow turn ina car as powerfull as a f1 is crap, loose the TC, i want to see the drivers harness the power some some computer chip.. yes i know we are loosing TC but its been inforce way to long

fix the problems we have dont make more!

Quote from farcar :If that is true, I think it's a little silly and would be costing them money. The 'alpha' status of LFS is exactly that; just a status.

The point is that it's still a great game right now, and should be promoted the hell out of regardless of the fact that it's still being developed.

:iagree: if the dev team was that worried about its status then we wouldnt have to pay to recieve a licence, so i agree, coblers to all that and go out and sell the damn game..

but again i do seem to recal scawen saying something like that wich Dajmin just said...
