Quote from BlueFlame :I was getting a bit edgy about the post count, but thinking about it, the only reason it is 50/50 is because the people voting yes mostly just want something new, they don't care what it is. The 50% that are voting no, are ACTUALLY voting no.

I have an impression a lot of people voted no because of the mention of the word "Drift" without either reading the thread or being completly incompetent to see anything after the word "Drift".

Talk about off topic and a severe case of too much bloody information.

It was a great event today, and my first.
Thanks to the organizers and to evilpimp for a great race.

Ill make sure to return for the next LX H2H event.

I'm in if I manage to wake up on time. (PM sent)
Been waiting to have time for a nice LX even for quite some time now.

See ya there, hopefully......

Don't mean to sound all that negative but if it takes cruisers over a week to realize that there is a cruise filter set to no by default, we got bigger issues then the bloody filter.

Now go race and remember why you bought LFS in the first place.

For some reason the new files are named as follows "setupsFOX_Fast SO Long.set"

Can anyone shed some light why the "setups" is added prior to the set name?
.NET 2.0 installed and working fine.

Holly necro, batman!

Once we have rain and night in LFS, I'm sure the devs will make proper working lights that brighten the road ala rF (well, hopefully much better then that but you get the gist)

Quote from JTbo :But who would not like?

Lol, talk about a "sleeper".

Yes, English of course....the American language.
How dare these primitive, euro using "europeeons" use ingrish.

Next time before you shop online, make sure you become familiar with the international currency signs. it might help in the long run.

Why dont you just keep the game though...I ensure you you will love it.
You'll even brag that its the best spent fifty bucks you've ever spent on gaming......but maybe thats just me.

+1 on the idea of stripping out interiors or having "club" versions, although the later might be a bit overkill.

Just for the record, LFS is NOT a car racing sim.
It's a vehicle physics sim....quite a difference.

The reason why we have racers, drifters, jumpers and even cruisers is that the simulation part of the car/enviroment physics in LFS are amazing.
Like in the realworld, physics don't limit you to what you can do with a vehicle by their nature; eg racing, drifting, tricks, etc

Limiting any of those in LFS would reduce it to the arcade equivalent of NFS; a prescripted BS "GAME".

LFS needs nothing changed for drifters and racers to happily coexist, aside from ONE vehicle with the above mentioned specs.
It needs no physics engine modifications, not change in behavior algorythms, none of it.

I'd velcome a street/track car in LFS for the simple reasons of having more content; a benefit to ALL LFS lovers.

Sadly some people here misunderstand the beauty of LFS thus fight everything that isn't "racing", yet do so in hatchbacks while spending half their time on cruise servers.

I'd love a fast reving, light, balanced and tuned track car in LFS that can be tweaked for drifting too (large lock and power on demand) thats NOT a race car ala GTR.

For all the nonbelievers, try this.
Take a FZ5, add maximum voluntary weight and set to to 100% front, raceS with 98% parallel and see the potential beauty of a well balanced strong non-racing car. If you don't get that, you really dont get LFS, IMO.

I really cant believe people dont see the bloody benefit of this suggestion!

Its a car that would make drifters AND racers (non SS racers, that is) quite happy yet you can't see past the DRIFT part the OP placed within the suggestion.

If it was called a track car, with the same values in terms of lock and power, most of you would be all over it.

Its just sad to see this anti drift or whatever ignorance, even if it benefits most of us quite directly. (I neither drift nor cruise, for the record)

Really seems that ignorance is indeed, bliss.

I think, if possible, It'd be really cool if the Devs released a viewer utillity that's compatible with all the recent versions (i know it would be the size of a full game, if not bigger).

Might require a rewrite of tag info for the replay SPR/MPR's but it shouldn't be too much (I think )

+1 for a special drift car.
Why? Well it's another race car for us racers and a fun toy for drifters.

At least drifters are closer to the point and beauty of LFS then Cruisers.....drifting takes skill and effort....cruising is really just waste of bandwith (and most of the recent InSim additions helped cruise admins write "better" software for it....give drifters a cookie too)

I'm just ranting here, while I'm at it but what is it with the SS as well.
Can't we just get a nice, imaginary road car ala LX, RAC, or even XRG/XRT?
As aero is still badly broken in LFS, making high downforce cars is really beating the point.

Meh, just my $0.02

I found a almost sure way (bug) to win against any AI difficulty.

Not sure if it was mentioned already but if you get on the inside of the AI in the corner, they will pull back quite a bit allowing you to gain a good lead.
However, if you are on the outside, they will slam you into the wall with all their might.

I believe those two should be balanced a bit to make the AI a bit more realistic, but all in all the AI are great IMO.

Great job Scaven and Team......once again.

Well I'm sad to see the Digi Speedos go for legability reasons.
I currently can't see much on the analog so somnetimes I'm forced to use the virtual (and I hate that), but as it's equal for everyone, it's cool with me.

I guess I need a bigger screen.

What I think we need is pressure plate load to compensate for crappy peddals, etc.
I have a DFP and I have to chose between autoclutch or button clutch, neither which is optimal.
Now, I opt for auto as I don't care about every tenth of a sec, etc but I think it would add to the emersion.

Also, not sire if you noticed, but every turbo can be flatshifted without any consequences to the clutch with the new patch.
FXR works great for testing this.
Gun it, flatshift and watch the clutch heat.......not a thing(seems reasonable to me as GTR's are dog/dsg/sequential and dont have a driver operated clutch. As most real cars use ignition cut when shiftin, foot can stay down on accelaration)

Maybe it's just me but I found driving x30 easier then before.
I think the combination of enginr inertia changes as well as tyre physics tweaks, most cars are more predictable now.

The LX class is better then ever IMO, and even RAC feels more realistic in behavior.
The harder or easier question all depends on your driving style and interest within LFS.

So +1 from me.
I'd be more then happy to join the club.

I've found that Bloom and the more resource expansive HRD can look great if you follow a certain rule.
When you think it looks perfect, tone it down 10%.
Both can add quite a lot of depth and "candy" to a scene without looking cheap and overdone.

Also, they look better when character models are excluded or toned down more while the enviroment uses the full effect (the full, toned down, slight effect of course).

My experience with both is mostly with FPS, but I can see it work very well with LFS, as long as it's done tastefully.
It also requires less coding then a move to DX9 or openGL (although the devs should consider moving to a different platform, for longevity reasons)

Holly talent, Batman.
This is BY FAR, the best LFS video that I've ever come across. (the first link)

Amazing work

Someone needs to be comissioned to make this type of quality vid for the official LFS Vid.

I'm speachless.

Quote from JO53PHS :I might defrag the drive later....

Havent changed anything at all and still same drivers

Checked processes and apart from Internet explorer (which uses 47,860K, i dont have it open when playing lfs) the biggest use of memory is dwm.exe which I found out was the Desktop Window Manager, using 16,780K.

You are not running low on HD space by any chance, are you?
See if defrag helps. If not, you might have cooling or hardware issues.

Splendid idea that many of us have probably thought about.
I used to play quite a lot FPS games and fav list is a must, though it might be due to the sheer amount of packed servers at all times.

Still, +1 for LFS having a Favorite tab.

Quote from JO53PHS :Sorry its a bit off topic but this is the only place where i can get a quick reply:

Exactly the same setup that i was getting 100fps on has dropped to about 20 - 30 fps. I can't race cos I end up crashing into everybody .

Any Ideas?

I have a laptop that it plugged into router or wireless access point or whatever (not setup for wireless yet) and I have recently been unplugging the pc from the router and pluging it back in again cos I need to take the laptop downstairs to plug into printer to print things and then bring it upstairs again so i can play lfs (yes it is a nightmare). Could this have caused the problem?

Framerate is all over the place now. For a brief few moments it went back to normal but then dropped again. FPS keeps changing and ranges from between about 17 and about 55 at the most. Today I hit a low FPS of 2.7!!! You cant play the game with that FPS!!!

Btw my computer isnt old

A quick sollution might be to defrag the drive and see if it makes a difference.
I assume you haven't made changes to LFS settings or your GFX card nor updated drivers. If that's the case, check processes to see if there is something there draining power from your system.
