Hmm, perhapse make a request that it get added to LFS lapper. It might get done since it would only need to be a small addon rather than an complete driftbox from scratch. There just needs a command to add apex points. The you just drive the course, save the points with lapper commands and then later, let the lapper count drifts in those special points areas in a different score variable. Hope you see what I mean.
You could write an algorithm to figure out apexes from the LFS path files, but that would be pushing it a bit. I just suggested above something a little simpler to implement.
LFS graphics engine relies on a single path to drive along. That's how it knows what to draw on screen, so the stuff drawn in screen is minimised (optimising the required work for the computer), thus making FPS as high as possible so that you can run LFS on your 10 year old wordprocessor.
Redoing the graphics engine would have to be done to open the tracks up fully. Can't see that happening for quite a while.
Also this single path system is used to keep track of the car, if it's driving the wrong way, which sector it's in, which TV camera to use. All that would have to be redone. It's not a simple "remove some barriers" to open up the tracks.
Well, I might not be 100% correct, but you get the picture.
It makes sense to me cause it's like going from 1st to 2nd gear in a regular gearbox.

I think the Americans prefer it "backwards" however in their sequetial type shifter.
In my daily automatic, the 2nd to 1st transition is pull lever .... !

Still that feels wrong to me also, but I never use that feature when going about town.
At the end of the day, configure how you feel most comfortable.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think in the latest G25 drivers they fixed that bug that required you to use 101% in the profiler instead of 100%.
And I use about 30% ingame and 100% in profiler. Feels about the same as my car's power steering. Maybe a bit less than real, but hey the G25 wheel is smaller than a real one as well.
When it is not plugged into the PC and not powered, it should do two and a half (2 & 1/2) complete turns from start to finish. Does it do that? If not then there is something really wrong with your G25, mechanically wrong.
edit: beaten by others, sorry.
edit: OMG I thought he meant it only went 1 & 1/4 from lock to lock, not from CENTRE.. OMG /facepalm
I should re-read before posting.
I drove a new Subaru Impreza the other day with auto/sports mode sequential box. Up(away from body) for down gear, down(towards body) for up gear, I was delighted.
:goodvibes
Well something could be added like a problem-tips help. When something 'bad' happens then a helpful popup appears or even just a button as an indication, eg: clutch is overheated, out of fuel, or brakes are too hot. It even could be like a damage map of the car if you'd rather that, or a series of icons that go red when the car part is wrecked/damaged.
It wouldn't give any extra info that isn't already available in F9, F10, just make it a little more intuitive.
The option to turn these tips or icons off would be for those that know the difference between a car and a boat.
newbs = win
n00bs = win
pros = win
Plus while were are here, there should be a server option so this info isn't available for pro racing.
Luckily you explained your mistake back there, how you installed the Graphics card drivers first then the main board drivers afterwards, which is the wrong order.
Well you only waited a couple hours and MOST of the LFS population was asleep during that time. Most of them are in Europe and are in sifferent time zone to you. They are most active at around 5am your time.

Make sure your profiler options are set up correctly.
Yes I had same argument with people for my drift mod. I made it 100 degrees to.
Thing is, you can get 90 deg and that's fine, but if you happen to step out 1 degree or even 0.01 degree or get a tiny lag then the drift is lost and that's a shame when you're right on the knife's edge. So it's just a buffer so that you can keep at 90 deg safely.
Well that's why I made mine 100 degrees anyway. Just my 2c
