Well, in my small opinion, and if I had a choice of things that really I cannot understand about the LFS development, it would be this -
1. Curb/mesh bugs - This is singly the most annoying bug in LFS IMO. To do a 6 hour race then get your car killed by a random curb is more than annoying, it is kinda criminal after all this time, and also it happens on the best tracks in LFS (KY2 etc)
2. Interiors - Come on, does it really take 5+ years to update 3 or 4 cars? Especially when you have a community of such talent.. This one I cannot comprehend..
3. Barrier's/collision physics - This hasn't changed from S1, and bloody hell it is annoying, especially when it costs a race...
Conclusion
All the things that annoy me about about LFS are simple physics bugs that have been around for a LONG LONG time. These things stop us enjoying LFS NOW and for as long as they are not fixed. Getting updates is a bonus IMO, but fixing these bugs is more important than any tyre physics update, any language pack or support for 3+ screens..
Yeah I thought of this before. It is feasible, it will just will take the admins of the teams to agree on a standard for points, i.e. 10 8 6 5 4 3 2 1 etc...
I can help set this up if you want. You don't even need admin access to eachothers server, just the correct address of the airio sta files
We already have the code for the website, so if you guys would be interested, I could try to display the points pretty quickly from your two servers and see how it works?
I think I am right in saying that the community has NEVER been disappointed in the work that Scawen and Victor do, or the pace they work. The issue I have, as I am sure many others have, is in the incredibly long delays in simple things like interiors and tracks. If I am not mistaken, these are the sole premise of Eric, but also these are things which the community can, and would be willing to help with. I cannot find any justifiable reason why the community couldn't have provided interiors for the GTR class in the last couple of years, without affecting Scawen and the way he wants to code LFS, at all...
As well as a complete graphical makeover, the site has been completely recoded and includes some great new features which we hope you will find useful.
1. PB's, Latest Posts and Upcoming Events have been incorporated into a compact, dynamic scrolling section at the top of the page. This displays a lot more information than before. Either mouse wheel or click the dots to move through the items, or let them move on their own.
2. Ventrillo Status - You will see a small ventrillo status icon on the top line of the site, click this and it will show you who is in our ventrillo channels, as well as links to easily join us.
3. Dynamic news items - Click the read more to expand any long news item, enabling us to show more news than previously possible.
4. Updated Server status - We have updated this section to be more compact and graphical, and it now shows your username as your ingame name. Also you can click the track or car to get LFS information on that particular item. Click the username to get stats on that user. Click the server to join the server, also click the lfs progress and remote icons to view the races as they happen.
5. Updated Team online status - This has also been updated to include lfs progress and remote links to any server, plus we have added country flags which you can also click to view the wiki on that country.
6. Rotating links banner - Above the chat box is a rotating banner which if clicked will take you to various places of interest within the LFS community. We hope to include other teams banners shortly.
7. Updated forum look - We have also updated the forum to fit the new site, we hope you like it.
The site will include many more updates and features in the coming months, but we hope that you enjoy the work that our team have done so far, and finally, have a great 2010!
