Quote from Mr.Muh :What's the oddest combo one can choose? Like Uf1 on Kyoto Gp Long? I'll get that record and live in the glamour of WR-holding for like 5 minutes

Something like that. Or RAC on AS GT. Not necessarily an odd combo but the RAC is probably one of the least used cars overall.

Quote from DevilDare : loved the camera angles and the editing the way u follow one car enter the inside of it and when u leave its a different car.

Yeah that's a really cool part.

Pretty spectacular video, full of great action. Definitely a keeper, keep it up

Having more F1 cars from the same era would be pointless.
An F1 old timer (60's, 70's, 80's) though
I would like to see a little bit of updating on the BF1 though. No '07 car or more aero parts or anything, but just some improvements to the existing model like suspension mountings to bring it on the same level as the FB02 and FO8. Same goes for the FOX.

Probably when I went snowboarding for the first time a couple of years ago. I was surprised how well I did for a rookie (I'm quite clumsy normally). Then one day I got cocky and decided to take a big jump down hill. The "ground" was a tiny bit (understatement) further down than I expected. Got lucky though, just some (big) bruises.
And yeah asking a girl out for the first time is pretty intense as well. The biggest rush is when the answer is yes though

It's funny how some people on the boards are talking about how LFS needs to make bigger steps because the competition will beat them, and in the future PC's will be faster, more will be possible, etc.
The fact is that people have been saying this for years, yet noone or nothing has delivered. Drivers Republic: canned. nKPro: no explanation needed. rFactor: still crap, outdated technology. I don't see a big change in that in the upcoming years.

I realize LFS physics won't be perfect as in real life when S2 is completed, I didn't mean it that strictly. Sure, physics development will continue after S2. What I meant is that the focus in S2 is on the physics and less on other aspects. I think those other aspects will be getting more attention after S2. I think Scawen has some level of quality in mind as far as physics are concerned before he starts work on other things.

Because they were approached by a racing team that uses singleseaters. Simple as that.

Besides out of the 20 cars in LFS, 5 are singleseaters, so I don't see the "another" argument.

Not that I wouldn't want other types of classes btw. Here's hoping we'll have an LMP like surprise for christmas next year

Quote from Maelstrom :I always thought that those changes were expected for S3! Not before

Physics related aspects of LFS are expected to be completed with S2 final. S3's focus would be on looks and big new gameplay features like weather conditions. It's not a strict roadmap, but that's what vaguely can be concluded from dev statements in the past.
I admit I am a little dissapointed that (as I understand) Y won't have the updated cockpits. Eric has been working on them for a long time. I remember them being mentioned before patch U at least. I can't imagine that the Fortec deal being that much work as far as modeling is concerned that it would delay the cockpits. But hell what do I know, I do know he did a great job on the FB02.
But I believe the cockpits can't be introduced in a compatible patch, so those will have to wait a long time too I guess.

Quote from Takumi_lfs :
@Joen

Most of the Dutch racer's here are registered there.. (I'm not :| )

I've started playing lfs in patch S1 E.. that's about 4? 5? years?

Yeah, that's about right. I can't really remember when I played LFS for the first time, I think it was a late pre-S1 demo but I'm not sure.

Quote from Takumi_lfs :It's just a patch rofl.

Joen are you registered at Tweakers.net?

As a matter of fact I am. It's actually the place where I first found out about LFS back in the day I hardly post there anymore though. Why?

Quote from BlueFlame :Joen, the patch WILL be released, that's all I care about. But being false like that isn't a joke, it's doing it, just purely for the fact of pissing people off. And the 'joke' part of it, is SEEING people pissed off.

Where are all the pissed people then? You're the only one getting this worked up about it...
Anyway let's drop it, obviously you're losing your grip on reality. Get a cup of Camille tea or something.

The devs get a kick out of this btw. The patch was already completed a couple of days ago. They do this everytime. They hype everybody up and enjoy seeing people suffer. They're a sadistic lot I tell you.

Quote from BlueFlame :I, and many others, are passionate about LFS, if people are making jokes about the patch being out, and it isn't? People are going to be angry.

And you think I'm not passionate about LFS? I am, but I can take a joke. I was actually surprised that joke wasn't made earlier.
Anyway, try to put things into perspective, we're all excited but in the end there's more to life than LFS and sitting here waiting and biting your nails off won't make the patch be released one second earlier.
Anyway, sit back, relax and let's all act like little weird kids waiting for their x-mas present

Quote from Electrik Kar :Some other examples:
Touch or be touched
The simple touch sometimes works miracles.

I can feel it.

Quote from The Very End :3 posts in a minute, it`s insane. I can`t remember any toopic that has been this popular.

Patch U was quite the madhouse too. The forum even went down for a while. Although later it appeared to be at least partly because of hardware problems.

And can't some of you take a joke? Come on, your lives aren't depending on it or anything

I spoiled some coffee over my keyboard the other day. My F5 key is getting less sticky already

I don't resize either. After a while you just know where to resize decals and such. On the sides usually between 75-85%.

stating what car you want it for and giving some hints at what kind of skin you want might help. Because there's no such thing as THE escort skin.

Since all set WR's will be reset, choosing the least favourite combo will more likely give you a WR and it will probably last longer.
My guess is that a lot of people will jump in the FBM first as it is new so your time will probably be beaten sooner if you take the FBM.
In the end though whatever combo you use it will be beaten pretty soon unless you're an alien. Which makes it pretty pointless to go for a WR

Looks pretty good so far. The red parts don't connect completely on the dorsal/near the head rest, so I would look into that.
It all depends how complex you want it to make. You could consider adding outlines to the red parts. Or adding a second color or some lighter or darker red parts to make it more interesting. It's up to you really.
Choose some decals for your car and arrange them so that you get a nice balance. Look on www.brandsoftheworld.com for some high quality logos. And/or get the LFS sponsor packs on masterskinnerz. Use the decals to give some contrast to the car.
Have fun

Yup mostly trial and error.
Here's a tip which can save you a lot of time though;
Look into Photoshop's "Actions" feature. It allows you to record macro like scripts that save a lot of time on often repeated tasks (like hiding the wireframe, then choosing save, select the format, etc.). Once you have that set up (which is very easy to do), you can perform all these actions automatically by just pressing a button.

Quote from Apoc112 :I have to start off by saying I'm kinda disappointed at how PC-fanboy some people here are... i think its safe to say we all know that LFS isn't going to be ported to the 360 any time soon, but i can't understand why anyone thinks that would be a bad idea.

It would be a bad idea because it would be take a big amount of added development time to create (and maintain!) a version for a second platform. With such a small development team it would slow down the development of both versions. Plus I doubt Scavier would be able to release an XBOX version without teaming up with a big publisher, something they have stated they don't want.
