Quote from The Moose :Is there actually anyone over the age of 17 that Drifts?

http://www.saikod.com/

Everyone on Saiko D.

But if you are looking for some drift friends at your age then you should look in the real world. Younger guys drift in lfs, because they can't afford doing it in real life.

And on top of that LFS Drift Community was rised by a very friendly, 40+ years old guy.

Nathan: Maybe, but I have read so many of those "drift vs race", "why dislike drifting" etc. threads and I have never seen someone disliking ie. drifting, saying: "I dislike this motorsport in a game, but in real life I don't". I understand your arguement, but at the same time don't see much sense in it.

Quote from Qvarnis :I love every form of motorsport, no matter if it was motorbikes, F1, karting, drifting, drag racing, NASCAR etc...

Well said.

It's only in geek sim world that people show that they dislike a motorsport that they didn't even experienced first hand in real life.

edit:

NathanRX-7: Define "I can drift well". Anyway - about drifters being able to race fast, and racers being able to drift very well. It's not literally like that. There are lfs players who can both drift very good, and also race very good. It all comes from practicing both forms of motorsport. It's also a fact of how well you feel a car in a computer game literally. The longer you play, the better you feel it. The better you feel the car in game, the faster you will improve at both - drifting and racing. IMO.

CTRA Race 1 can be pretty dirty sometimes, depends on wether you meet the bad guys. Also still not everyone understands that some T1 are pretty dangerous places to pass at the start of the race(ie. Fe Green layout).

I remember once racing at bl rallyx and there were 2 guys there from same team. One would be slowing you down, blocking very very dirty(Like you and him are in the inside and then the guy sudennly brakes), so the other one would catch up. When the other one would catch up the one at front would again do dirty things on you, and the friend of him from behind would push you very dirty out of the corner. Shit like this happens, and it's very annoying.

I also wish it was possible to advance to Silver class a bit faster. I'm usually only gettting about 30-40 points for each race if I remember correctly + eventually some bonus for fastest lap. I don't have that much time to collect points and would like to race some TBO class or GTR. Ofcourse there are other servers too, but for some reason If I want to race I only join CTRA.

Quote from JJ72 :Just take a look at this F2007 drift clip.

Quote from MarioX :...and then compare to real F1 physics in lfs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7iZwbsV3xY

Just to make sure people noticed.

I haven't played GT5:P so I will not comment the topic LFS vs GT5:P, hovewer.. Seeing people criticize some flaws of other game, while similar flaws are in lfs is just stupid.

About different topic - Do not make assumptions about physics from videos without real life experience. More over, do not rate physics by their diffucilty. Bartdrift.pl has bought G25, s2 license and drifted in lfs a lot for about 2 weeks. His final opinion was that the physics are awesome, but that the cars are too hard to drift, harder than in real life. He couldn't state if it was physics fault or the fact that cars in lfs are actually quite shit - you should have seen his face when I showed him Porrari and LX4/LX6 extreme drifting.

p.s.: MarioX: What drifting experience do you have in real life?

ATC Quicksilver: True. When Ferrari driver started from the back the race was always fun to watch. Lots of passes.

It also looks like Kubica could take his first pole position in career. Mad exit on grass/dirt on 1 corner and still 2nd time.

Bmw looks suprisingly strong.

BMW just 0,1 behind McLaren with a mistake on 1 corner exit. I'm starting to think BMW can really be competive this year. Oh I can't wait for qual part 3.

Also too bad that Kimi is out

Quote from March Hare :Have you any idea how many noob drifters think the opposite?

I don't care This "opposite"(Opinion that drifting is faster than racing) opinion is worth as much as "NFS is more realistic than LFS" etc. IMO

Quote from March Hare :I think you kicked drifting in the nuts with that video nisskid.

You just kicked yourself in the nuts Use some common sense. AE86 was clearly used as a chase car to film cars and so that Tsuchiya can make commentary.

Drifting is slower than "race driving/gripping". This is obvious.

In fact, Nisskid just showed how awesome drifting is on a closed touge. Great vid.

Define word classless, because honestly I have no idea what you mean here. Why is drifting not classy, describe it please.

And what motorsports are classy exactly, and why? To be honest I never thought of motorsport being classy.

Quote from Matrixi :If you would bother driving on 900 degrees, you would know it's a pain in the butt to cope with slow steering in big entry angles on 36 degree seering lock.

Especially with the FZ5 that has RR layout, which is such a well balanced car for drifting. *sarcastic*

Ah.. Accident like that must happen someday in my city. There is a spot where "street racers" meet. There are many people, big crowds, even family with children from local "villages". And what's worse, drunk people. Mix that with amateours doing drag races, doing wheelies with motorbikes etc. = the result is obvious. The question is only "When?".
kamkorPL

Woz: Same can be said about street racers, who race on straightways, do races trough traffic on autobahns, race on touges etc. And I bet there are more racers racing ilegally on streets than there are drifters drifting ilegally on streets.
