part of why I thought that "street" and "club racing" versions would be a good idea.
Quick change gearboxes are available in 5 speed, so i dont really see why 5 vs 6 is a big deal on the street cars. My issue is that if it's there i want to be able to adjust it.
because i can deffinitely falls under self satisfaction. I'd also like to see how i stand up to solo endurance before trying to tackle something far more dangerous in a real car.
If i cant make it 24 hours in LFS on a close circuit track, how the hell can i expect to last 32 hours in the desert of Baja California?
Think of it as a dry run. As for the competition.... I'm competing with the other solo runner.
Dustin, i suggest you stick to the break strategy too. get up and move around. stretching is good for keeping your mind sharp too.
actually i'm working on the things i need for this first. and yes i do intend to take breaks when needed.
Breaks don't take anythign special, but hydration in the middle of a race is important, so i'm working on that.
10 minute break every 2 pit stops? fine with me, i've done double and triple stints before so i'm fine on that, and taking breaks means i get to evaluate my own condition and decide whther or not to continue.
Becky, thats exactly why I'd like to offer both, but my investor is pitchinga fit because i want to use commonly available parts so as to not grab you guys by the short and curlies for replacements.
Of course I would sell the parts from my website, but I'm strongly against making something proprietary when i dont have to.
for the turn-key version i dont mind using proprietary robotics to reduce the selling cost.
the software that my team is developing would drive ther servos for you and the servo's woul just screw into the kit. same with led's just put them in place, and put the appropriate lense over them
I'm talking with an investor, and mentioned the idea of offering both fully build dashes and bare bones kits (provide your own servos LED's and electronics)
The prototype we discussed was based on the 98 Impreza 2.5 RS with full options (analogue guages, shift light, gear indicator) for expansion to make it appropriate for a gtr car.
further development will happen behind closed doors, btu this is just to guage interest
I've had my DFP for over a year and a half now, no problems other than with the oridinal pedalset's crappy pots. Logitech replaced them within 2 days of my complaint. I've only had to clean out the pots on my pedals only twice, and ive only a little play in the gearing of the wheel
and what ever happened to developing new technology for teh street cars in the race cars?
I would suport 100% JGTC like body rules (must match factory sillouette with exception for wings and scoops. And how about engines that actually include technology?
+1 for much larger area
+1 for airport environment
and to add to scania's post
+1 for marked pit boxes (chalk outline) as placeable objects, just like restricted zones and the like
