I made a tweak for the XRG that the people who have test driven it loved. Only problem was that we couldnt get it to work on other computers than mine.

If you guys wanna have a test league with my EO Tweak then have at it. Its kinda like the mind engine sports cars of old. Too much engine, not quite enough brake

Duplicate detection on LFSW would be nice too, to you dont end up with 30 duplicate skins in your skins x folder just because people like to pretend to drive ferraris

False starts could in theory be done via Insim's position coordinates.

What really hacks me off is that some dumb twat keeps zipping up their skins_x folder and calling it a skin pack.

then someone else downloads it, and because of person A's dumb ass action, person B ends up wearing Team C's Livery.

there realyl should be a way to key filenames at least so someone cant just copy without renaming and run the skin without being on the team's list of drivers

I wouldnt mind seeing one of these Baja SAE buggys in addition to some other classes of buggy.

A second FSAE car to race against the MRT would be really nice too

Quote from Gentlefoot :This is crazy. I did a 1hr 45 min race once and by the end my back hurt, my arms were tired and my eyes were sore and dry. The last 15 mins were no fun at all. And these guys want to do 24 hours? lol

Some of us have done double and triple stints of an hour or more. as long as you have someone on the radio with you, its a lot easier to stay loose and concentrated than you think.

Some of us are responsible adults, and perfectly capable of making our own decisions.

I'm taking what's been said under advisement, and looking into my options.
Some physical training doesnt sound like a bad idea at all, and staying properly hydrated can do nothing but help, and will certainly urge you to move about during pit services.

I wouldnt object if the organizers imposed a mandatory break on one man attempts every few hours. Get up, move around, do some stretches, concider whether or not to continue. I do intend to have ful time contact with the rest of my team Via Ventrilo for the duration of the race, as we always do. They will also no doubt keep a watchful eye. We certainly believe in the buddy system

If, after concidering my options, I decide against the solo attempt I will either withdraw my entry or add other drivers to the roster. I could even have another local driver take over at my own PC.

If the organizers change thier mind about solo attempts, please alert those signed up for it and update the rules accrodingly so that we can make adjustments to our plans.

Got a response from a programmer over at the phidgets forum. Looks like the work is going to be ridiculously expensive, and I'd have to send 1 of every kind of phidget i intend to use for this.

Unless you guys are willing to help me raise some cash, I'm gonn aahve to wait for another programemr to come along into my web

Yes small ovals do exist, everywhere from 1/4 mile to 5 mile test tracks.

Racing on small and mediium sized ovals is a bit claustrophobic at times as the field is almost alwyas in close proximity.

The engine output curves were visible int he tuning menu on GT2, and in GT1 as well and changed when you changed the boost on your turbos

Taken a look at the load distribution of the single seaters in LFS lately? The single seaters in LFS are, as far as the physics engine is concerned, in every sense of the word symetrical.

I understand that you might have to deal with them on your Reynard, but they are a non-issue on the MRT5, Formula XR, Formula V8, and BMW Sauber F1.06 as simulated in LFS. I will throw a party and buy you a beer when you have a need to tinker away on the corner weights of your BF1, but until then we tin toppers are the only ones concerned with it.

OK, this is WAY off topic but: Tristan, is there a particular reason you feel the need to condescend to just about every American on the forum, or are you just geneticly predisposed to be a douche?

Back to the topic at hand: I agree some more per corner adjustments would be a good addition, and even the realism nazi's wouldnt have much to say about it as you can do that on a real car.

Also on that note, since we cannot adjust per corner, we cannot make sure our corner-weights are correct. You open wheel guys don't need to worry about that, but those of use who like to stay dry in the rain need it to make sure that the weight of the driver is evenly distributed.

you guys seem to have missed the point that phidgets are nicely modular and easy to configure, little to no soldering required, and are USB, little to no risk to destroy your machine

and here you'd gone and gotten my hopes up by posting in my thread

It's moer than jsut converting a track. LFS has it's own Graphical syle and just converting a track will leave you with a course that looks horridly out of place.

-10 (due to scale) for Nordeschliefe
+1 for the GP course
+1 for Bathurst
+1 for Mid Ohio

I think he was suggesting an "engine brake reduction" bar, like the BF1 has, which is controlled via the electronics. basicly it applies a little throttle to keep the car from swapping ends any time you let off the gas

Removing seats could change the class of the car. And I have no problem with changign the number of gear ratios available to only those possible with current engineering, but i still wanna have those options.

differential gears should be the same. Call DANA and you can order any of thier diffs with the gears of your choice. if i need a 4.567:1 ratio and the closest i can buy is a 4.57:1 i'll take it. no problem with that. (in preparation for a rce you could calculate pretty closely what gears would be close to what you need, but no need to limit what i take to the track)

Dampers, like was said, these can be and in many cases ARE built to spec for racing. same precision as pro teams but no more? fine. do i still want full control over my suspension? hell yes.

keep this goign on down the list and we could get along. GTi and Clubman versions of the car could be interesting

Good to see some agreement guys. I was starting to think I was quite alone on this one.

And Cue, don't you think if the devs intended for there to be less adjustment, there would be? I think Scavier can speak thier own minds on what thier vision for this project is.

Cue-Ball, you can assert that when you can go buy yourself an XF GTi at the local Scavier Dealership. Lack of a roll cage mean lack of one being requird by regulations. Head over to your locl Auto cross met and you'll see lots of cars with no Roll Cage, and lots of adjustments that thier stock counterparts dont have. Just because it doesn't come from the factory like that Doesnt mean it shouldnt be made available in a racing sim environment. If i could go down to the local speedmart and buy 3-way adjustable shocks for my hot hatch, i shoul dhaev the option to do so for my XF GTi. Camber/Caster/toe plates? you betcha. Adjustble gearbox? Bingo (i'll admit the kind of precision available in LFS would be nigh on impossible for you ro get with off the shelf gears, but anyone with a machine shop could get pretty close.) Adjustable differential? well, you'd have to take it out and replace it with another one, but if you can do it, you can do it. Brake Bias and pressure? hell yes i can get the parts for that at Jegs for less than 200 bucks. Spring rate? Coil springs are a common commodity, not hard to get and actualyl pretty cheap.
Swaybars? hell yes, you can even bolt late model stock car swaybars under your car via an adapter kit (watch sports car revolution)

and you know what? if i wanted to spend the money i could even bolt a set of slicks on my crappy Mercury Sable.

And the last time you saw a car in racing team paint that was bone stock?

OK, i've just got to say something.

People alwys complain that Car A shoudnt have Adjustment B, because it's real life street variant wouldnt have it.... Bugs the hell out of me, because it lacks any kind of intiutive imagination. With a little thinking one realses that these probably are NOT ordianry street cars, but street legal CUP cariants of thier plain jane counterparts. Or simply that the class in which they are entered in ALLOWS all of those adjustments.

Want settings a certain way in a league? Feel free to hold tech inspections after the race. Collect everyone's setups, and take a look at each. Someone could even make a program for doing that.
