Quote from Hyperactive :Is there any information about the personnel stats and what kind of effect do they have on what? I mean, for a commercial manager how do the skill, experience and motivation make a difference?

The stats do make a difference, but to which effect I don't know. The difference does not seem to be too big, though. For commercial, I can say that I've been hiring Ekrem Sami for the last few seasons and I only have 160 assistants, but it's plenty to keep the sponsors happy.

Quote from Hyperactive :Do they improve over time and what makes it so?

No, facility manager's stats are fixed, they don't change.

Quote from Hyperactive :Are the stats related to the facility stats, like a 5-star commercial manager can only use 1 star of his abilities in a 1 star motor home?

Not sure, but I don't think so.

Quote from Hyperactive :or I'm just being a nub?

No, you're not, it's basically try and error and it all comes with experience.

Quote from Hyperactive : One other thing is that I hear people taling about LFS club - can I get in?

Go to the communication menu and the last in the drop down menu is club. I don't remember exactly, but I think you have to click on the LFS club and then you can request to join.

Quote from Bladerunner :The less money you have in each category to process, the slower it goes...I try to keep mine over £1.5 million at least...that way will eat through about a mill every race. (and I only have a FOUR STAR facility!)

Now that I didn't expect. Thx a lot for the info .

(Damn, I probably could have been developing a 110% engine three races ago, already ).

Gawd, it takes ages for the research money to filter through.

Is there any way to speed it up? I already have a 5* research facility, but I'm not really getting very far here. Does it matter, how many areas you do research on? It probably does, I reckon, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone with more experience can answer that?

Thx,

I'm on a roll. 50 pts ahead in 19th division and I passed Kei Office in LFS-Club-rankings .

Too bad I started too late on research. My engine development has been idle for 3 races now. After next race I'll finally be able to develop up to 110%, but I doubt I'll get to the next level before that engine is finished. Wasted time and resources, I'd say .

Quote from tristancliffe :Ah crap! Sorry mate. PMs been playing up. I didn't see one from unseen for a couple of days after he sent it (it was there, but no pop-up I expect).

I'm full. Completely. I'm really sorry, and I hope you find another supplier... I'm trying to get into the 2nd division, so it's all about making profit at the moment, as I don't have the pace to win against Lotus91 (despite 100% drivers, 200% engines, and 200/200/100/100 qually chassis & 197/197/100/106 race chassis).

No big deal. I found an engine for 2 Million today which is not quite as good as what you could have supplied, but I'm sure I'll manage.

Also, I've won every single race this season (and will probably keep winning), so my stats are looking rather good and I'm pretty pleased. I'm actually about to overtake the Kei Office team and move up one place in the LFS-club-rankings , too. So at least you've chosen a good time to let me down .

Hey Tristan,

would you please let me know whether we have an engine deal for next season or not? I need to know, because I have to look into contracting something else if we don't.

I already pm'ed you about it, but apparantly you didn't see my message.

Thx,

Quote from tristancliffe :Sorry, am totally full, apart from one slot for next season! Not sure how that happened actually, as I was sure I left a slot free... oh well. Apologies.

Sounds good, then, as that was the original idea. I wanted to hire your engine for next season .

Hey Tristan, will you set up the engine we were talking about for me?

Is that even possible if all your slots are taken for this season? I'm not quite sure if it is possible to put an engine up for sale for the next season, if there's no free slot for this season. Hm.

Let me know how to go about this now.

Thx a lot,

Quote from tristancliffe :I can do a 200/200/106/151 engine basically at cost for you? That is 2.2m per race.

That sounds just perfect! So we have a deal then? If you'd like to set it up for me, I'll sign it as soon as this season is over (3 more races).

Thx,

Hey Tristan,

if possible, I would like to make a reservation for the season after next season. I'll probably be in 18th or 19th division then (currently 21st) and will need something in the range of 200/180-200/100/150, or so.

Let me know if that's possible, thx .

Linsen

btw: We do have a private Club-forum at GPMP we could use, guys (it's in the "Game Forums" at the bottom).

Quote from J@tko :
  1. Never buy an engine that has reliability more than 10% less than the other stats (esp. power) I found this to my cost!

Not sure if I agree here. I'm currently loosing (for the second time) to a team that uses an engine with 200% bhp, 171% rpm and only 110% reliability. So far, it suffered only two engine failures within six races and is ahead of me by 22 pts. Okay, I was a bit unlucky to have one engine failure myself and one of my drivers crash once, but still.

edit: thx for the info on the tyres.

Dragon tyres are not available anymore, afaik. They moved to the Zanardi server.

J@tko, how are Right-Speed's wets and inters and is the reliabilty of the hard compounds also 100%?

I'm in!

Do we get any club benefits? Trackdays at discount prices, newsletters on rule changes, engines for half the market value, t-shirts and bumper stickers?

Here's another important advice: Never, ever buy an engine that has 200% bhp and only around 100% reliability -- it may make you the fastest team of your division, but you're not gonna win a constructors or drivers championship with it .

In the seven races of this season, I've had seven engine failures. Monza was particularly frustrating, where both of my drivers retired on lap eight! On the other hand, the only two races where both of my drivers finished, they finished first and second.

Still, this season is the most interesting so far, for me. I'm not the fastest in qualifying (I usually qualify between 2nd and 4th), but race performance is good, and winning a race where you didn't set pole, is much more rewarding than a start/finish lead.

As much as I find Tweakers idea of Cup-versions appealing, I also think that in practice it would be the death of the road cars. If you give people the choice between a cup XFG and a standard XFG, 90 % would probably choose the cup car. And thus you might as well remove the stock cars from the game altogether.

I can't find the TDF (searched for TDF) . Are you sure you attached it in this thread? (unfortunately, I don't know how to modify such files myself).

And are you really certain that they overdid it? The Nos is a rather bumpy track with lots of changes in grip -- Although it looks smoother than the rFactor-version in most onboard laps I've seen.

And btw: I just realized that I managed the 8.50 with grippy track-day tyres. With the standard road tyres I haven't managed to get below 9 minutes, yet .

Okay, thx guys. I didn't really expect any different answers, tbh, but thought asking couldn't hurt .

Is that magazine you're talking about "Sport Auto", Niels? They managed a time of 8.15 min around the Nos. Has anybody been able to match that, yet? (Certainly not me, I'm still 35 seconds behind, but that seems pretty realistic, seeing that I lift at several places or don't floor it out of fear of loosing it -- also, I still don't know the Nos at heart).

Hey Niels,

I've got a question regarding top speed of the C6.

I'm only hitting 247 km/h or something going down Döttinger Höhe on the Nordschleife in 5th gear (not even redlining), no matter whether I use the shorter or the default gearing. Shouldn't the C6 be capable of higher speeds?

Regards,

Linsen

btw: How much money would I have to pay you to create the Renault Clio 172 for me ?

I know, this is a little late and all, but I didn't have a chance to try out the v2 corvette before (and hadn't touched rFactor for quite some time), and I'm thoroughly amazed by the job you've done Niels!

I took the C6 around Nordschleife for a few laps, and the whole experience is soo convincing, it's just awesome! Together with realfeel, I actually think this feels better than LFS. I really feel like driving a big heavy car around the Nos. A feeling I never had with rFactor before (except with your v1 maybe, but not to the same extent), and I still don't have to the same extent with LFS.

Thx so much for this .

I don't know how much you guys visit the GPMP-forums, so I thought I'd point out, that there will be balancing changes on saturday, or so. Most importantly, weight, which apparantly didn't mean much previously, will play a much larger role than before.

Works fine over here, too ...

@herki: Thx for the offer, but I'm afraid it's a little too low on rpm for me (if I finally want to win instead of coming second all the time, that is, which I do).
Linsen
S2 licensed
@Blackout: Thx for the offer. The only thing that worries me is the reliability. And weight seems a little high, but since that supposedly does not make much of a difference, it might be okay.

@tristan: Thx, maybe I'm lucky.

As for my budget: Since I'm still saving up for 5-star facilities and my chassis is still not good enough to use it, I was hoping to get a deal for not more than 2.5 million (less would be better, of course ).

I think you need to reset your account and start over, chanoman.

@tristancliffe: Would you happen to have an engine on sale for next season? Something around the 180% mark on bhp and rpm (rather 185% than 175% actually)?
