And are you absolutely certain about the last part? I was always under the impression that LFS is rather accurate in that regard -- apart from minor inconsistencies when touching the armco on SO tracks, maybe.

iirc, Scawen seriously considered this some time ago. No kidding. I don't know if it's still on his to-do-list, but it sure is not No1-priority -- unlike neons, NOS and furry dice.
I think both, mandatory tire change and limited fuel as server side options, would be nice additions to LFS. And also the fill-up-to-x-%-option would be cool.

On a general note: I think this topic might as well be locked, as Scawen already replied and said that he will be working on minimizing the car2airplane bug. And, as we all know, he will do so. But when is solely his decision.
Should we really look at the speeds during cornering in order to determine whether the bf1 needs more grip? I'm absolutely no expert on such things, but I don't think so. Afaik, formula 1 cars pull a maximum of 4-5 lateral g during cornering, which corresponds with the data posted by amp88. So therefore it seems to me that the grip of the BF1 is pretty much spot on.
And seeing that the bf1 pulls up to 1g more than the fo8, yet both have the same cornering speed, would imho point to the fact that the line and the steering inputs of the fo8 must be smoother. Which in turn means, that the bf1 could be driven faster through the turns, at least theoretically. Correct?

Seems like dougie-lampkin actually does not live in this universe most of the time, only once a year does he come to visit planet earth for a very short period of time, just enough to depose two posts in this forum. I'll be taking a closer look at the other two posts to find out what he actually wants to tell us, as I reckon it's a secret code that does not have anything to do with the irish government nor with LFS. I'll keep you updated.
I'd say it's definitely the very first of the series "The Need for Speed", because for it's time it was more of a sim than an arcade racer.

This is really an important point. I myself usually used to think (after the first anger was gone) oh well, I don't want to denounce somebody when maybe he just had a bad race/night/day or whatever and thus did not report. However, by now I cam to the conclusion (thx to Becky and SamH etc.) that reporting is not denouncing. It must be seen as a simple possibility to hint the barricaders to certain situations where they then make a decision which in all good intents serves the sole purpose to make racing more fun for everybody.
Afaik, he only does sprint races, though, so there are no close battles involved (I could be wrong, though). And yeah, I've seen him in another thread bashing the redline-servers recently. so it seems, he's still the same. only less active.

.)Even though I do see the benefits of arranging the grid like that, I think this is sort of against the spirit of mixed class racing. If you're capable of finishing ahead of big GTRs in an XFR or UFR, you should be entitled to your place in the starting grid accordingly, because you earned that position. And likewise if you drive a big GTR and get beaten by a small one you deserve to start behind it in the next race, because you were obviously too slow. No need to reduce the headache for faster cars, imho. Instead, give the bloody talented UFR-racer the chance to finish even higher the next race and score the really big points.
Btw, did Scawen ever say anything about why the engine damage was made less sensitive in S2 compared to S1?
Is that in the latest version (1.150, I believe)? That's the one I have and I still feel oddly detached from the car, but I heard that it's possible to tweak the ffb-settings to make things a little better. Would you know how to make rfactors ffb feel more LFS-like, Gabkicks? I'd appreciate some help, as I'd like to learn the Nordschleife a little better. (DFP is my wheel).
Well, I read this thread with interest and at times amusement. I even posted in here to state my views on the matter. By now, I've actually come to the conclusion that most people who posted their views as well, are actually not as far apart as it may seem. Problem is, there are at least two people who have a certain way of expressing their views that is rather counterproductive. All this talk about "I'm a real racer and you don't know diddley" is just so full of arrogance and incapability to even begin to understand that there just may be other views which are not necessarily total bogus. Geez, give us a break! Afaik, all you guys are doing is karting! Correct? Yet, you act like you're full-blown F1-racers. Don't you see how ridiculous that is?
