Could you explain a little of what Trans-Am is now (the 2009 season). AFAIK, the series reboot with only the GT1 class and the GTA class isn't there anymore.
You say the GT1 cars in Trans-Am currently are only "stock cars" with GT bodies?
that's not a good idea, because while you will be much more stable around slower corners, your exit speed will be disastrously slow and you'll actually bog up the traffic. Yah, you might be able to get ahead of the other cars. But if you bog up the traffic like that you'll actually cause a lot of accidents and the admin WILL black flag you if you are that slow.
It is wiser to develop the skill to handle the car unrestricted throughout the track without any wheel spin or instability. I've done it already and many other people are able to do it as well (with a lot of practice).'
BTW, brt900, u have to practice on the server or else the laps wont be recorded (and thus wont count)
It does seem that Grand-Am is doing better in the sportscar petigree with it's KONI and Rolex. But why do you feel that the stock car class didn't belong there (except for the fact that they were obviously amateurs)
The racing seemed to be pretty cool (although I only watched 3 trans am races that had the stock car class)
Just curious on thoughts of anyone who watched it. It was very interesting to see GT racing with a stock car class (The GTA class are essentially ASA stock cars). I wonder if anyone has been following the Trans-Am if they might bring the GTA stock car class back or if the stock cars were too much trouble for the GTs.
I live in the United States thank you very much...(pretty obvious with my NASCAR/IndyCar posts tbh)
It started in closed wheel racing (specifically SCCA Touring Trucks here in the states) and became a legitimate tactic for almost all closed wheel racing on tarmac. Watch NASCAR, ARCA, Stock Car Brasil, BTCC, SCCA, and you'll see bumpdrafting. Heck I even remember seeing it in FIA GT and WTCC.
So is the entire closed wheel motorsports world cheaters?
That is up to you. This is just to make sure that you understand the car well enough to keep it on the track in many situations.
I do have a suggestion. Try to do as much laps in one session. This will give you consistency instead of aiming for a pb and constantly going off every odd lap
Ok, I'm going to go easy as this is your first incident.
Your new penalty would be to drive 150 laps before race 1 on FE3. This isn't difficult and if anyone were to practice (which is a must for this car) they should have atleast that many laps anyways.
So, again, ur attendance at Test Race #2 will not be required, however, you will be required to complete 150 laps at FE3 before the league race
Christ do you guys never check you pm or something? All important commnication will always be given in pm INCLUDING server pass. I don't know of any league that doesn't do this besides LOTA (and that's cause they do it on their own website).
I locked it before quali cause I don't want random pol showing up to mess up re quali. Approved competitors should be able to join anyway cause of the password and info in pms....
I agree, incompetence tends to show itself a lot towards the beginning races. This is why we have test races, to get people familiar with the car AND the limits of the car. That is why I suggest everyone join the practice races and practice as much as possible
Alright guys, as you may or may not have noticed I just had 2 more admins bail on me.
I cant be SCing and admining at the same time. I did my best to hold test race 1 together. But it's getting insane as the people I've been counting on have dropped out.
So this is what I need:
I'm sorry for this development, but the league cannot/will not start without these positions filled.
EDIT:
SC driver: various NDR members
Race Condition Control/Pitted Cars: Timpdr
Lapped Cars/Lucky Dog Monitor: Empty
Race Monitor (incidents): Empty
Points Calculator: Pending
Guys...I can't stress this enough....PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PLEASE.
This car is arguably harder than the BF1...PLEASE PRACTICE before the league race round 1. It was pretty messy, but i suppose it went well.
For all those who saw my shaky admining. I'm sorry, no other admin showed up and I had to SC AND admin everything at once.
Here's to clear things up: Closed Pits: Pits will close IMMEDIATELY with the caution. You are allowed to pit when the pits are closed HOWEVER, you will need to start at the end of the line if you do (for severly damaged or blown tires)
Starts/Restarts: DOUBLE FILE STARTS. Single file restarts with the lapped cars on the OUTSIDE of the lead lap cars. There wasnt any lapped cars today so you guys didn't really see this.
Crashes under caution: If you crash of spin out under caution YOU WILL LOOSE THAT POSITION. If you have a major dispute (pit maneuver under caution, bring it up to one of the admins and they will look at the replay)
Server always seemed fine before, I dont think it melted imho as no one was laggy for me. However, idk how everyone else saw me or the competitors.
Start stress testing the server to see if it will handle.
I will give Marcroft 1 more chance. The next practice race will be MANDATORY for him. He must show up and show signs of improvement.
Yes, the vote ban was too hasty. Ur either an admin OR a racer. You cant be both. Since you opted to race, you shouldn't be making the decisions.
