Only downside when using improved shaders, some cars look really low poly. XFG is an example. RAC on the other, looks quite nice.
Nevertheless, I am very curious to see what can be done with the possibilities shaders bring.

All seems to be working good. I have tried this red-cyan a few years back with the nvidia emulation, and it looked ok also, but now there's better control and directly from inside the game.

Also, beeing "native", now it saves the screenshot in 3D . Thank you

I have only seen it last year, when someone posted about LFS's G+ page.
On the same note: the YT channel is LFS official ? Or fan made ?

(in both cases, know that it is possible to set/ask a/for cleaner URL. There's only a simple verification procedure to follow).

I don't get the message most times but 2 or 3 minutes into playing the first thing I notice is the CPU fan working it's butt off. Which is a after market Noctua.


I have 3 auto settings on the ASUS motherboard for overclocking and it's on the middle setting. Which from memory gives everything a slight boost from standard. I did this because I thought the game would need a little bit more.


I was getting this issue on the base settings as well. Next time I play I'll check the CPU usage before and during the game to see the difference.

I find this odd. I have a friend with a previous generation of quads (Q8400 @2.66) and he doesn't have this kind of problem. I don't think the issue is the CPU directly. Don't have any suggestions though..

Thank you Carl. If I may add a bit to the discussion, what's better than a picture ? I know, 2 pictures. What's better than 2 pictures ? A blind test ! (sorry I had to.. for some reason..).
Anyways, here's the pic(s); could you folks tell me which one is DX9 and which one is DX11 please ?

I was not understanding why lfs' own converter (raw to dds) would not convert the textures to the best format for its use (one time process, not every time when loading the track).

Anyways, thanks for the program, it's always nice to speedup loading something .

What do you mean ?
I remember reading somewhere (also devs' recommendation) to save a DIY texture to raw format and then LFS will automatically convert it to dds. And this only the first time. So why reconvert the dds ? Or are you referring only to the textures made by "others" who didn't know to save as raw ?

Here are my settings; recommended by the devs, as far as I remember.
And in game loaded the default profile, but reduced a bit the kerb effect, to my taste.

I have our server live and password protected. (but no freejoin installed for the moment.. so there is a window of 10 minutes to join from the moment the first dude connects).

The CPU overload issue apperas when the server is setup with more clients than the number of pitboxes of that track.

INFO: Most of the tracks, 24 pitboxes. Magione 18. Drift track 5, Drag 2
Don't go over it, and all should be fine .

Indeed, but my guess is that's probably for keeping the file size low for replays .
