Yeah, that's what I was figuring. I can't measure mine at the moment since it's hard mounted to the Obutto, but from what I recall, the clamps would clear that bar easily.

Mind you, it is propably the shittiest table clamp system of any wheel otherwise.

Not sure what I'm looking at there. I can't imagine a desk where the T500 table clamp wouldn't bite.

Alright, I can't agree with you that it's the ease of use for the average person that defines what a device/OS should be called, but I can leave it at that.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Perhaps this article will make it more clear how AOSP !== Android. It's even worse now because the ****ing home screen isn't even opensource anymore

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets ... e-by-any-means-necessary/

Google is actually trying to make AOSP an unsustainable effort by removing any semblance of updates to the core apps, and instead forking them and only updating them as closed source items.

I've read that article long ago. It still doesn't support your claim that Android wouldn't be Android without GApps. If your life relies on nothing but Google Play, Now, Gmail or Calendar then sure, Android = GApps. But like I said, there are open source alternatives for each and every one of those apps.

I do agree that Google are making AOSP harder with each update. I'm still grinding my teeth that the AOSP browser moved to the craptastic Chromium WebView in 4.4 from the excellent 4.3 AOSP Browsers WebKit engine.

I'm curious what operating system you would call the new low-end Nokia phones to be running if not Android? It's certainly not AOSP as they don't share the source code for their ROM, and they don't have GApps installed either.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Well, for it to be "Android" the GApps package is mandatory. Else it is just AOSP. Most people think of "Android" to be the services that the GApps package jackhammers in, not the actual core OS.

What? That's is complete drivel.

AOSP - Android Open Source Project. Android by definition is nothing more than the operating system itself. First time I've heard anyone say a phone has to have GApps installed to be classified as Android.

\/ You mean Samsung phones, shadowww?

I'm talking about the development plans as a whole, rather than just Scawen in particular. Rest of the GTR interior updates and Rockingham come in to mind, announced when was it, 2008?

From what I've heard, the LFS track has been open this whole time to the public at the Rockingham race ciruit, just not for the paying customers at home. If that is not messed up, I don't know what is.

There's a reason for that, you know.

The difference between LFS and the majority of other games is that other gaming devs don't tend to change their plans ever so often as the LFS devs do. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to change your plans every now and then, but if that's the only thing you ever do, you're never going to get anything done.

So if you're used to other developers following through with their announcements and delivering what they have been aiming to deliver which is what happens in most other games, people also presume whatever the LFS developers say will actually happen.

The LFS devs way of solving this issue as of past few years is to clam up and stay silent about the future, which isn't exactly the healthiest approach for the community. What would work, is state your current plans, stick to them, deliver, and start communicating again.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Chrome is technically closed source. We can build Chromium, but who knows what is bundled into the actual "Chrome" version that Google distributes.

Same as Android. It's closed source. People can only compile AOSP, but Google can include whatever rootkits or misc technology into the "Google Apps" kit.

That's why the AOSP Browser is king, as the name implies it's fully open source. I'd never infect any device I own with Chrome.

GApps package is optional, it's not mandatory for Android to function. There are open source alternatives available for all the apps that it contains. So, you can have a fully open source Android installation if you wish, I mostly care about my web browser not spying on me at every single step.

TIL closed source browser by a company that is in bed with NSA is a good thing.

Boris, isn't the great thing about Android that you can change anything you want? There are launchers that perfectly mimic metro or iOS.

Android used to require a very beefy SOC and plenty of RAM to make everything run smooth, but 4.4 Kitkat and the ART runtime has completely changed that. Now 512MB of RAM is enough for a pleasant experience and dual core is more than enough.

My sister has a Lumia 925 or whatever, played around with it plenty. OS seemed far too restrictive considering it's a smart phone. Not my cuppa tea.

If Nokia started making high end phones with Android or even allow flashing it easily, I'd be all over them. As I would imagine a lot of other people would be too.

Quote from E.Reiljans :Lets look at state of things in, for example, country you are from.

Finland, a country full of Nokia fanboys who (used to) buy their phones no matter what because SUOMI ISÄMMAA.

Even that changed after the trojan horse Elop carried out the rest of Microsofts masterplan to ruin Nokias sales so they could buy the remaining husk of Nokia for cheap, after halting the finnish factories, firing everyone here and moving everything to China. I have to congratulate them, it was a cunning plan that worked flawlessly.

If you really want to start "proving" something with stats, let's take a global look at things first.

WP forces you to use IE and hotmail as defaults? That's more restrictive than iOS...

No wonder the entire WP platform is in such a disastrous state sales wise.

- Pagani Huayra new car (turbo related sounds still wip)
- TC now does not engadge until a car specific speed when launching from stand still

- Fixed GUI on some apps
- Fixed race output
- New APP :: Track Description
- New APP :: Real Time X360 car controls debug
- Damage OFF option
- Fixed some glitches in mirror rendering
- Improved CPU performance on Monza
- Reduced launcher RAM and VRAM consumption while the simulator is active.
- Added French translation.
- Collision fixes at Monza and Silverstone gp
- Physical mesh at Silverstone gp more detailed.
- Fixed Concrete size at S-Schumacher, Nurburgring GP
- The launcher now keeps a rotating backup store of the local database (found in Documents\Assetto Corsa\launcherdata\backups)

For the shaft you have to contact Mr Basher directly at http://www.basherboards.com but he's apparently busy with backorders now so it can take a long time. He can make any thread you want, I went with M10x1.5 for the Honda knob.

The shift knob itself I ordered from http://www.rhdjapan.com

Patrick from http://rightongates.com sells custom shift plates.

FPS still seems to affect the input lag in AC, so the only real fix is to lower your settings or upgrade the hardware to get in to the 80-100 FPS sweet spot.

If you're talking about the craptastic 90's VR goggles, they cannot even be compared to the Rift.

Reasons:
  • High resolution display panels available now thanks to mobiles
  • Low input lag and image persistence with OLED technology
  • FOV is wide enough to avoid binoculars feeling
  • Low overall weight of the unit so no fatigue
  • Price will be reasonable due to generally available components
The time is finally ripe for VR, and it WILL happen. No question about it.

I'm not sure if it's the H61 chipset which is causing the issue of stopping it from booting, or just that motherboard in particular. So I can't personally advice you to buy any model in particular with that chipset, if it would have the same issue.

If you're going to take the risk and get one, I've had good experiences with Gigabyte and Asus boards atleast in the high-end and the workstation range.

It's a tricky situation really. I suppose you could get some higher end Z77 chipset motherboard that supports your CPU and doesn't have any issues with aftermarket graphics cards, then upgrade the CPU later in to something more powerful like 3570K/3770K when the time comes for that.

Quote from jasonmatthews :That card will definitley need an additional power socket connected, if not two. On the top of the card near the back you should see the sockets...

No it doesn't, do your research. GTX 750/Ti don't have any extra power connectors, atleast by Nvidias design.
