Quote from mgxpower :My suggestion is to remove these tracks because they are not functioning properly anyway. what is the meaning of such tracks and at the same time no world records. This is discrimination. Since I started with the game I practice only a drag but I have no incentive to play because there is nothing to hold me. good day

Ah, alright! Thank you! All the best!

Also, if possible, could you fix/tweak the following to the patch? -
When using Race Command Message (RCM), if a driver has Blue Flags, the Blue Flag message takes priority over any RCM, which causes some drivers to miss things said through RCM. Such example happened during a race (LRL) when lapped cars and Safety Car driver (who was down on laps) failed to see the Safety Car in/out RCM message due to being Blue Flag spammed. Not sure if the same occurs with Yellow Flag, but I think so from memory!

Perhaps Flags and the RCM message could flash in an alternating pattern? So neither cancels each other. Cheers!

Quote from Scawen :Thanks, I've added this to my test patch notes. To be clear, the stuck bug is not specifically related to open configs, but to the use of a custom pit stop point.

Layout Racing League - Round 5, Mini Monaco, Race Summary

The unforgiving confines of the principality tackled by the drivers in Round 5 of the Layout Racing League! With bold overtakes and incidents throughout the race, a valiant drive by [TC-R] Pete sees him claim his third LRL win!

Qualifying

The streets of Monaco is hard to tame, as many drivers found out during the final Free Practice session. Qualifying kicked off with J.Pickard making a rare cameo appearance in the series, and setting the track alight in the early stages along with [LCS-R] Ltras and Pete, as drivers struggled to find an opening to get a clear lap.

Trespasser was absent from the event, unable to make it in time, which gave a chance for Pete to gain points - however, he was pushed to 4th by the top qualifiers, while newly-recruited Team Teho driver Ngottini and [6S] SIMOX somehow found time on the green track to get 2nd and 3rd. The pole was secured mid-way through qualifying by Pickard, who set a blistering 1:16.9 to put himself 3 tenths clear of the next car.

Azyer made a reappearance into the league since his quiet temporary departure from Air Attack, placing his UF1 a respectable 5th on the grid ahead of Texas, who suffered with traffic in the closing stages of the session. His teammate Ltras, unable to find pace, laid in 10th, just behind (FR) Seb and ahead of M@CI3K. [TC-R] Adam barely made it on time to set a lap, with less than a second to spare as he crossed the line to begin his do-or-die lap - landing him a position near the back with Dude and [WCL] T.Soini.

It's go for Round 5 of LRL!

Field negotiating the first corner

With a long run into turn 1, drivers aimed to gain positions but most were denied by the confines of the circuit - essentially falling line-of-stern as they exited the corner. Pickard maintained his all-important lead whilst behind him, [TC-R] Pete threaded the needle between Ngottini and SIMOX to slip by into 2nd.

Ngottini then went wide at Turn 2, giving up a spot to [LCS-R] Texas. Further behind, mid-field jostling resulted in a spin for [AMG] Derinus, dropping him to the back of the pack. The end of Lap 1 saw [TC-R] Adam come in for an pitstop to undercut, hoping to make up time on the cars ahead.

PitlaneRacer rolls exiting the Tunnel

As the race settled in for what was to be a long first stint, it was clear the top 4 had a pace difference, and were slowly gapping 5th-placed Ngottini. A train of cars were soon forming behind the Teho driver, stretching from Azyer in 6th all the way down to [MRc] Michal in 13th, with Azyer eyeing up an overtake before the first Safety Car period was called due to a roll by PitlaneRacer.

The drivers at the front blinked and took a their mandatory pit stop, however, Pickard chose to stay out to maintain track position, with the [LCS-R] boys of Ltras and Texas also choosing not to pit as well. Further in the mid-field, drivers were split on pitting and staying out, thus mixing in the positions as the field prepared for the restart. In the tight pit lane, [TC-R] Elmo led ahead of a train of cars, stopping on the first pit-stall, which resulted in being rear-ended by M@CI3K with nowhere to go and with cars behind him. The resulting time lost saw Elmo drop out of a point's paying position.

Pickard dropped the hammer and led away in a perfectly executed restart, ahead of Texas, with Pete the meat in a [LCS-R] sandwich ahead of Ltras who had not pitted.

Tight mid-field battles

As the field slowly spread out again once more, mid field duels were occuring throughout - M@CI3K and [MRc] Michal fought over 10th as [TC-R] Elmo slowly picked positions off from the back. [TC-R] Adam had a brief tussle with B2r Rayman, pulling off a stunning sequence of switchbacks to pass the B2r driver.

Out at the front, the front runners were pulling away once more, with Pickard pulling out a small lead over Texas, with Pete in third still unable to find a way past. Ltras lay forth just ahead of a recovering SIMOX, with Ngottini and Azyer fighting it out for fifth.

An uncharacteristic error

With the mid-field tight and frustrations brewing, B2r MaRoC made an unforced error chasing his rival Derinus, rolling over the same anti-cut as PitlaneRacer, causing another Safety Car.

Pickard, with his lead over 2nd, pitted to complete his pit stop, as well as Ltras. Pickard emerged in 5th ahead of Azyer, while Ltras came out in 9th, only just beating M@CI3K to the pit exit merging line. [WCL] T.Soini running at the back, pitted on the end of the Safety Car period with ample space to chase the cars ahead. GT4Tube, running in a good position, threw away his race with a pit exit violation, earning him a penalty.

The chasing pack on Restart 2

The restart saw the field status quo, with drivers timing their restarts right to not get overtaken. A late braking move into Turn 1 however, saw B2r Rayman pass LLM Sobis for 14th. Meanwhile, up front, [LCS-R] Texas was being hounded by the chasing pack, with Pete searching for opportunities to slip one up the inside.

The move for the lead

Lap 15 and Pete took his chance with a bold pass at the Swimming Pool to take the lead of the race. With a great run through Louis Chrion, an inside line saw the [TC-R] driver draw alongside at the braking zone, with Texas leaving the door wide open, only to realise too late, making contact at the apex, sending the [LCS-R] driver wide and giving SIMOX a great run down into La Rascasse to steal 2nd away as well.

3rd Safety Car period, caused by GT4Tube

At the back of the pack, LLM Sobis was heading a small train of cars, after getting dropped by the drivers in front, with [AMG] Derinus right behind. We saw the third appearance of the Safety Car after GT4Tube, running in a lonely 16th, made an error exiting Swimming Pool.

Race finishing under Safety Car

The 3rd restart began and went on for only a short while before Rayman tripped over the chicane, rolling over on the penultimate lap, bringing out the Safety Car. Unfortunate circumstances saw Dude and LLM Sobis disconnect with only a few kilometers to the finish. In what was a race of attrition, the final lap was taken under the Safety Car, driven by Dekojester, ending the race under yellow.

In an exciting race with a nail-biter finish, it was ultimately [TC-R] Pete who once again proved why he deserves to run with the top racers, claiming his 3rd LRL win and taking a 18-point lead over Trespasser. Pickard, who looked favourite to win the race, was let down by a bad strategy, setting the fastest lap in showing he had the pace to win. SIMOX, Ngottini and Azyer held their own in 3rd, 4th and 5th, with a stunning recovery drive by Ltras to finish 6th. [MRc] Michal finished a decent outing in 8th while [TC-R] Adam was the mover of the race, claiming points from a lowly starting position.

Derinus was sadly disqualified after failing to serve a Drive-Through Penalty in the required laps, dropping him out of his points position.

Driver's Championship as of Round 5

Pete regains his championship lead heading into the second half of the season! Will he be able to be LRL's first Driver's Champion?

Layout Racing League - Round 4, Scawen's Racetrack, Race Summary

The drivers come around to the forth round of LRL at the unique Scawen's Racetrack circuit, looking for points and to reignite battles! Once again key incidents alter the order at the top of the table - a comeback performance by TC-R] Pete sees him win his second LRL event!

Qualifying

The twisty circuit saw the biggest turn out to date for the series, with 24 drivers taking to the tarmac in search for a good starting position - vital for the race. It was the Indonesian [LCS-R] Ltras showing early pace during the session, but his time was soon bested by championship protagonist [TC-R] Pete, who put in his fastest lap mid-way through the session to secure pole once again.

Championship leader Trespasser was off pace today, citing a "damage limitation race", only qualifying in 10th, more than a second off the pole time and just ahead of TOFU Bro. [RDSR] Cyankill and Medln put in great times to qualify 3rd and 4th respectively, while [6S] SIMOX beat newcomers [TC-R] Nick and Adam for 5th. A poor performance from [LCS-R] Texas sees him only qualify in 12th, ahead of Gabor and [MRc] Michal.

Race

21. Medln +16L Technical
22. [MRc] Michal +18L Accident
23. [RDSR] Cyankill +18L Technical
24. Tofu BRO +21L Technical

Fastest Lap : [TC-R] Pete - 1:38.87
Penalties :
B2r Rejekt - Drive-Through Penalty - Causing a Collision
[r]Jeff - POST RACE REPRIMAND - Contact Warning (Lap 1)
AS|Daniel - POST RACE REPRIMAND - Contact Warning (Lap 1)
GT4Tube - POST RACE REPRIMAND - Causing a Collision (Lap 22)
(FR) Seb - POST RACE REPRIMAND - Causing a Collission (Lap 22)

It's lights out for Round 4!

Clean and neat out of Turn 1

The run into turn 1 was short, with drivers equal off the line, fighting for their own space into the corner. [TC-R] Adam had a disastrous start, getting past by his teammate. Further back, opportunistic pass by Tofu BRO made Rejekt check up, which saw mild contact made between Trespasser and Texas, which lost them momentum and places down into Turn 2.

Clumsy contact into the second corner!

Down into Turn 2 saw chaos ensue in the mid-field as the drivers were packed way too closely - with [r]Jeff and AS|Daniel missing their braking points, the latter slamming into Jeff causing a domino effect, with Texas kissing the rear of Trespasser, sending him sideways facing the wrong way. The championship leader, was now 19th and falling back entering the second sector, which only became worse after PitlaneRacer slid out of Turn 3, causing Trespasser to check-up and get rear ended by M@CI3K.

From 10th to 23rd, the championship leader was now on the back foot.

Up at the front, Ltras broke way too late, handing 2nd on a plate to Cyankill, with Medln and SIMOX slipping through as well. Behind, inter-team scuffle between [TC-R] Nick and Adam began and we would soon see it last throughout the entire race.
Lap 2 saw our first retirement - Tofu BRO retiring with excessive lag, a pity considering his pace up with the front of the pack.

Huge impact and a roll into Tunnel 2

As the field spread saw cars find their own rhythm, Pete was clocking out near the front, with the trailing pack slowly falling back. [RDSR] Cyankill fell victim to a disconnect, forcing a retirement out of a strong second place, with Medln and SIMOX promoted into 2nd and 3rd.

Shortly after, we saw our one and only Safety Car period, with [MRc] Michal losing the rear over the crest entering Tunnel 2, slamming into the wall at unabated speed and rolling over - ending his race from 13th place.
The drivers toured the circuit as the Safety Car waited at the first corner, with majority of the field taking their compulsory pit on that lap.

[LCS-R] Ltras, Gabor and [LCS-R] Texas among others took their chances, staying out, gaining track position and leapfrogging to the front of the field, with (FR) Seb choosing to pit on the second safety car lap, dropping out of a strong top-10 position. Medln suffered a disconnect during the SC period, taking him out of contention to challenge for the race victory.

Race restart on Lap 9

The restart got underway, with Pete getting the jump over Ltras, pulling out a small lead, before the latter closed the gap right down for a tough duel that lasted for the majority of the race, with Pete unable to turn his car on for the second stint.

The off-pace [TC-R] Elmo half-spun against [WCL] T.Soini at the Dipper, dropping him to the rear of the field.
As the field once again spread out, it was clear the top 2 both had the pace to win, and soon a gap formed to 3rd and 4th who were now occupied by Nick and Adam, after fighting past Gabor, who pitted soon after in a failed alternate strategy.

The battle for 3rd intensified

The charge from championship contender, Trespasser

Meanwhile back in Trespasser's world, it was a smooth comeback, slowly picking off positions as he raised himself to 9th by the mid-way point of the race.

Battles were few and far between, with Jeff, Rejekt and Gabor in a tussle for the minor points, and the top 2 now a staggering 9 seconds ahead of 3rd, but all would soon be exciting again as the for the podium kicked off once more.

Ltras pitting and emerging right in the huge battle for the podium

Ltras, on the alternate strategy, had built up enough of a gap to drop himself back into the tail of the battle for the podium, with [TC-R] Adam holding off the [LCS-R] driver for a nail-biting 3-way tussle for 3rd with SIMOX in close proximity behind. Paint was exchanged and tempers rose, but ultimately it was a crazy battle which saw Adam eventually come out on top!

The battle for the minor points at the end of the race

Further back, Texas tried but failed to hold AS|Daniel behind, settling for 8th, ahead of Jeff and Gabor, with Trespasser only coming home in 11th following a last-lap racing incident with [r]Jeff. A final lap incident on the pit exit with GT4Tube and (FR) Seb saw both receive a reprimand for avoidable contact.

Up at the front though, we thought we saw the last of him in Round 3 - but [TC-R] Pete proves the doubters wrong and claims his second victory in LRL and full points haul with it! [TC-R] Nick and his teammate Adam round off a 1-2-3 for team TC Racing, with Ltras and SIMOX finishing best of the rest in 4th and 5th. A decent outing by Ngottini sees him grab 6th, with Trespasser finishing a dismal race in 11th, ahead of GT4tube with the final points scoring position.

Driver's Championship as of Round 4

Pete places himself back into the championship fight as we head to the last of three rounds in LRL's Triple header. With a tight mid-field battle in the standings as well, we look forward to the next race on the 13th of July at the principality - Monaco!

Quote from Flotch :no => in fact there is too much grip already for the tires.
This is one of the factor leading to heat up too much the tires because they accept too much load before sliding. Same that is leading aswell to have lots of difficulties to drive "quickly" without a locked differential : outside is having so much grip that the inside is leaving the ground ^^
Then there is of course the fact that tires are cooling down too slowly ...
Please Scawen, fix this Tongue

Yeah.... this, in un-TL;DR fashion Tongue

This is why going fast in races requires "mario-karting" of the cars - where you purposely induce oversteer to 4-wheel drift a car around a corner, taking crude advantage of the tire grip and non-existant slip.

Needs to change fast, going fast now is down to basically changing your driving style to something that just isn't realistic; you won't ever see a FOX or XRG equivilant car on a real racetrack slipping sideways to gain time in a corner - it's just wrong in so many ways, and still the reason why I'm a purist and don't mario kart cars at all. Perhaps why I'm never at the top of the charts, but heck I like to drive my car like normal...

Besides the handling changes that is supposed to come...
This is Live For Speed, a racing simulator.

It never was proclaimed as a drift simulator, although people love drifting on it. It's great for drifting but I doubt drift handling is top priority at the moment - the remodelled tire model is more important for racing now.

Layout Racing League - Round 3, Marcus Memorial Lmaoring, Race Summary

Heading to Austria for Round 3 of the LRL Championship, we see drama and amazing racing, with key incidents and a fumble at the top of the table! A well-planned strategy sees Trespasser take the race win for the second time in his LRL career!

Qualifying

The short punchy circuit proved a challenge for most drivers, nailing the corners being key to gaining lap time. Trespasser set the early pace, with Lydh in his XFG driving the lap of his life to put the underpowered shoe box up into 3rd, ahead of rivals AA|Kadir and fellow XFG racer, [LCS-R] Texas. [6S] SIMOX placed his car in 6th, just 7 tenths off the lead. The midfield , headed by 9397, was extremely close, further giving us a glimpse of the action in the race.

Surprisingly, it was [TC-R] Pete who put in the fastest lap of the session right at the death, pipping Trespasser by under a tenth. Further down, surprise returns to racing by [LCS-R] racers Wax and Ltras saw them qualify near the back in 15th and 16th, just besting Cruise hero GT4Tube.

Round 3 and drivers put their patience and grit to the test at the tight confines of the Lmaoring!

Lights out, and away we go!

The start was once again clean, with Pete leading the furious charge down into turn 1, with Lydh losing out in the run with his XFG, and SIMOX powering past down the inside. Further down the back, the slow-starting Medln saw [LCS-R] Lauski and [MRc] KIG sweep past him, which would prove to be one of two turning points in the race, with the field compressed heading through the first lap!

There's contact, there's contact!

The worst case scenario down into turn one became real - Trespasser having a go under braking and drawing alongside Pete, however, an overly ambitious [6S] SIMOX misjudged the braking point, tipping Trespasser into Pete who goes for a spin, directly in front of the 19-strong pack! Avoiding action followed, with Lydh having no-where to go, hitting Pete once more, with cars scattering left and right as the field marched into the Esses.

The first Safety Car produced by this incident

The fast starting Lauski had a huge tankslapper moment as he exited the Esses, over-correcting his car and sending him straight into the Castrol wall, with [MRc] KIG going off at the same point in sympathy!

Heli-cam over the Lap 1 pile-up

The incident saw a pile up as the drivers weaved their way through the field - Lydh and Derinus suffering damage along with the championship leader, Pete. Both cars involved in the initial incident retired on the spot, with Lauski unable to pace shown earlier during the Practice sessions.
The safety car was called, sparking a flurry of pit-stop activity!

Majority of the field taking their compulsory pit-stop

End of Lap 1 and the deployment of the Safety Car saw the pit-stops take place, with most of the pack opting to clear their pit, with SIMOX, Texas and Kadir the leading cars who chose for the alternate strategy, staying out for track position. Trespasser pitted and rejoined in 4th behind Kadir, with RG Mandula, [WCL] Katila and Pete - who had already recovered to 8th, right behind. SIMOX was slapped with a Stop-And-Go Penalty for the earlier incident with Pete at Turn 1, of which sadly turned out to be the end of his race, getting stuck in his pit-box with a LFS glitch.
Weirdly, Texas and Kadir pitted on the second lap under Safety Car, dropping to the rear of the field and promoting Trespasser to the lead after SIMOX's retirement.

The battles after the restart

The race restart saw the field spread into place, as the drivers passed each other and found a rhythm for the middle part of the 33 lap race. Pete fought Katila down into the Final Hairpin, both coming into slight contact, with a clumsy spin by Katila after both tried to catch their own cars; deemed to be a racing incident. Battles for position were all around the order, with Texas fighting with Medln for 5th, and [WCL] T.Soini passing Blokis at the back.

Lydh's great qualifying and run in the top 10 came to an end after sustaining damage at the final chicane, retiring his XFG on lap 12, pointless here in Round 3. Meanwhile, a train was forming behind 5th placed Texas down to M@CI3K, as well as GT4Tube, who was holding down 10th ahead of the recovering [LCS-R] Ltras. GT4 would go on to finish a respectable 7th in the race, with the latter claiming 5th for LCS-R, a great tribute to Marcus Kane.

The unexpected for the championship leader, Pete

Lap 15 saw the retirement of [TC-R] Pete following a technical glitch with his Rift, crashing his game and taking him out of the race from a strong 2nd, after pulling a move on 9397 a corner before. With his retirement, he scores 0 points, gifting Trespasser a huge lead in the championship. Will Pete be able to recover?

The battles during the middle stint of the race

The field spread saw few battles as the race tipped over the half-way mark, with Ltras getting past GT4tube down the main straight. With less than 10 laps to go, Texas was slowly closing down on Mandula for the final step on the podium, however, his charge was halted with a rollover by [LCS-R] Wax at the final chicane on lap 24, right on the exit; bringing out the second and final Safety Car of what had been a very exciting and close race thus far.

Restart number 2, Lap 28

Lap 28 saw the Safety Car come in to release the field for the final 5 laps, with Trespasser leaving nothing to chance, dropping the field as he stormed away in the lead. Down into Turn 1, 9397 broke a little too late, and Trespasser, having run wide, was collected, with 9397 coming off worse and spinning around in front of the top 6, with Texas somehow emerging in P2 ahead of everyone else.

What followed was an intense battle for the second step on the podium between 6 drivers, with Medln and Katila barging through ahead of Mandula and Texas, with the battle stretching all the way to the flag.

Up in the lead, Trespasser crossed the line in 1st with no challenge, claiming his second win to boost ahead of Pete and the rest of the drivers in the championship. With the disqualification of Medln, Katila and Mandula took a well deserved podium ahead of 9397 and the newcomer, Ltras.
With the fastest lap going Trespasser, his unassailable lead in the championship will be hard to take down. Can anyone do it?
