Sorry for the slowness and for putting it in pdf, but me and spreadsheet programs don't mix. I'll probaly make something in Core Data which will look 10 times better and easier.
Anyhow, here are the division 1 standings, div2 will come up later tonight
Yeah, there are 4 places available for each division. We do however require that you make a hotlap of Fern Bay Club so we can see your speed, and put you in the right division.
Ok, i've added the replays and ill add a link to the extended stats later this evening.
Official results and a points table will come after the complaint deadline ends and when the complaints have been reviewed, so I guess sunday at the latest.
find a button called dhcp release, and then press on dhcp renew. You can also just reboot every electrical device hooked on your pc (i dunno which devices you have), and when they boot they should get a new ip address.
If you can drive with 180 degrees, you can do it with 720 too, it just takes some practice. I'd recommend making small jumps in degrees until you hit 720 or just practice more.
Then you should also consider 90% of all lfs drivers cheaters as they use a mix of throttle blip/cut, throttle help/brake help and auto gears.
imo it's valid to use launch control or traction control seeing as no one made any rules about them. So if you really dont want to see apps like that, make a rule book.
Sure, ISP's sometimes **** up. But you can do things before the race to minimize the risk. You can replug all your connectors, reboot the router/switch modem/pc, get new ip by dhcp so you have a fresh lease, or any other thing you think might work.
The thing is, anyone can say it's their ISP while their anti virus kicks in, so there is no way to check what the failure was, and teh fact that LFS only runs on windows multiplies the number of reasons by 100.
I compare a lag out to an engine failure in real life. So if you want your "engine" to last longer, you have to make it last longer.
Btw, to give you an example on how you can cause your own lag out.
I've ran a linksys wrt54g with default firmware which doesn't really cope well with bittorrent. Every time I downloaded it kept hundreds of connections alive which caused the router to bog down. If a router cpu bogs down, it will route packets slower causing lag and ultimately a connection failure.
To remedy this I've put linux on it and put the tcp connection timeout to a low figure, so I never had the problem anymore (not running linksys crap helps a lot).
So as you see, lag is not always an ISP problem, but sometimes it's even your own problem.
I do wanna say that there is no maximum lap time because we simply can't come up with a number and enforce that. For example if someone spins off he will exceed the maximum time, so this is why there won't be one.
But, if you can barely drive your car because it's so wrecked, you will receive a black flag + orange ball and be disqualified.
AND, remember if you are wrecked, and you fail to comply with the 80% rule, you won't be classified. So please use your brain and decide what to do if you drive a wrecked car.
Regarding lagging out on the last lap, it sucks, i know. But we shouldn't reward people who don't take care of their connections or forget to turn of their anti virus.
Imo people should only be classified if they cross over the finish line after the leader did within 80% of the race distance.
I'd also like to ask drivers to simply spectate if there car is severely damaged and you can't drive a lap within 1 minute. If you can't drive within 1 minute there is a big possibility that you won't drive 80% of the racing distance and won't be classified (no points).
So if you feel you can't do that, please do yourself a favor (because driving a wrecked car and seeing blue flag for 30 minutes is no fun), and the other drivers as well (moving chicanes are no fun on this track).
I do would like to stress the almost impossibility of passing on this track, so please be careful. The only real possibilities to pass is when someone makes a mistake, outbraking someone is not a real option on so3r.
I think it's best to just cancel the random weather as well paul, cuz i'm sure people will whine about that too it if someone decides to use a shadow as a braking point.
I thought having wind and changing conditions would make racing more fun, because this is a fun league. So just to avoid future moaning (and making sure I still have some fun) I'll change everything in the calendar to clear skies and no wind.
Ok, because there has been so much moaning about wind, which makes teh 'driving experience' so bad according to some, we'll scrap the wind and weather settings we had planned.
It would've been nice to drive around in sunsets and see the windmills turning (also nice background for pictures), but we'll stick to hotlap mode.
If there is a next season we'll plan in time.
