Quote from Klutch :What kit is on that C33?
never seen it before, looks great

not sure actually, i kinda hate it tho lol

it doesnt look too bad irl when it's on it's arse, but i dunno, so many better kits out there.

will be ripping it off next time, and going either a stock kit or a more subtle aftermarket kit.

Quote from theirishnoob :
obviously a 500 hp s13 will have a better time sideways then a 180-200 hp corrolla s

more dependent on the suspension/steering. both chassis are great for drift, the corolla chassis is more snappy, but still very controllable.

It's no use in here, they just don't get it.. I do So u did the autumn matsuri? U've seen the dutch guys?
Ow, i damaged mine to haha! Just needed that clipping point!
But i've beaten a E36 V8 Alpina after that

Now looking for an M3 engine (3.0 or 3.2). Getting decent set of coilovers, wheels, M3 bodykit + extra carbon front splitter. Gonna be cool :P
Love these reliable skiddings instead of the 13

the dutch boys were top blokes, cant remember names, and there were a few different nationalities that had accents close enough to confuse and aussie haha, but the euro dudes were definitely a bunch of champs.

plus, it was never a "nice car", it was bought as a missile, stripped of unneeded parts, steering knuckles added. you cant actually see much damage in those pics, simply a lack of parts.

different people value different things in every car, the fact that it will still beat most cars in this thread in a straight line, around a circuit, and will pretty much definitely out-perform every car in drift is to a lot of people, more important than winning a few show and shine trophies.

wow there are some retarded posts in here, 86's are good due to having well balanced chassis's with good parts backing, and pokey engines (pokey, not high powered).

chassis's are what defines a good car that is designed to take corners, engines can be modified and swapped, chassis's can only be modified slightly.

anyway, some pics of the missile:

i kinda suck at this as coming from adelaide you dont exactly get much opportunity to "meet" famous people, only really "see" them.

ken nomura was probably my favourite big name as he was a huge inspiration to me when i was younger, but didnt really get to chat to him much, just seen him around, and got a pic with him. nobushige kumakubo is another big one, an amazing dude, awesome attitude and one of the friendliest guys you'll meet, not much in the way on english, so when you see him around it's some basic japanese and a smile. naoto suenaga is another one, he speaks a bit of english, once again a top bloke and always happy to have a joke around.

ive seen a fair few other D1 drivers around the pits, but not many more when it comes to meeting them.

also Daigo Saito, a ruthless drifter, crazy, bit more stand-offish that other drivers, but i was most happy about getting to drift with him, as well as Shinji Minowa, another D1 driver, although i didnt get to meet him, only drift with him.

i wont go into drifters from other countries as no one really knows many outside of D1GP haha

there are a lot of names that ive met that were important to me, and recognised within the drift community, but it's probably gonna bore most people here so ill leave it at that.

Quote from Klutch :must be a rush coming over that at a fair speed, looks scarey as all hell in some of the in car vids ive seen

it's one thing to do competition line, it's a whole new ball game to straight line it. to give you an idea the street legal guys hit the jump at around 80-90k's, the D1GP guys when taking competition line hit it around 100k's, if you straight line it you can hit it at anywhere near 120k's, which is how you get so much air over the jump.

doing minami at competition line is ok, but once you've done a few straight line runs you cant go back.

was good though, last time i was here there were only a few of us doing the straight line, this time we did a night session and got a few more out. like i said, minami is a very intimidating course at the best of times, when you are straighting it, it's a huge thrill, when you do it at night with a few others, it's something special.

the night time stuff on minami in there is the session i was talking about

Quote from Klutch :yea but 2nd hand rotas are even cheaper! :P

the funny part is, they arent really that much cheaper, kind of like drift teks, they sell 2nd hand for like 1k, it's rediculous.

Quote from dadge :but that's the risk you take. it's also the reason why there's warranties to cover such events.
everything fails at some stage. people have bad experiences with all kinds of products. imo, this is what breeds fanboyism (which is a good thing).
i've found that when i'm buying something, i like to read the bad customer reviews on a certain product. all the happy customer reviews are all the same and don't help as much as a customer who got a faulty product.

warranties do not cover track use, they do not cover your car smashing into a wall, and they do not cover ur back when it wraps around a tree.

Quote from Klutch :but srsly if you're looking for bombed wheels on a aboriginal type budget they're awesome

lol, id rather continue to buy good 2nd hand wheels cheaper than what rota's cost brand new.

Quote from jibber :I had Rota wheels on my S2000 for a few thousand km. No issues.

There's also a guy on the s2ki forum who tracks his S2000 all the time, he's using Rota's aswell. No issues.

I think they have a far worse reputation than they deserve.

"Fake Rota's" sounds weird to me aswell tho... they are cheap wheels already (they basically copy all the expensive designs from Work, etc).

so? just because they dont explode on EVERY car doesn't mean they dont some times, and "some times" is enough for me.

Quote from Nathan_French_14 :That's because they were fakes.

Fake Rotas are notorious for snapping spokes.

um... Rotas are fakes.

Rota steal designs from real wheel manufacturers and produce inferior designs with inferior products in mass production factories in the Philippines.

Quote from theirishnoob :dont rip the fuse out, take the front drive shaft out and have a permo RWD, because 4wd is too heavy

@ rotas... their ok... you just remember that the rule is: only civics, swifts etc should wear them, cause their cheap and their sh*t.

as far as first cars go, i had a few bangers for knocking about and together with. Its simply a case of " i worked hard for a decent car, so rather then crash that within a week or two, ill get to wreaking cheap cars and drive the expencive one slower. "

so far, thanks to me ive killed: 3 nissan sunny/pulsars, countless puntos, clios 106-206-306's ugly E10 corrollas, primeras, both an e36/39 bmws, w124 merc and a talbot sunbeam ( though it was already half dead )

and thats just off the top of my head as i had no respect for these actual bangers, and i made more breaking them then i did any other way.

my mate bought that GTR in Japan, and where we lived and worked we didnt exactly have many tools at our disposal lol

plus we lived in the snow, both places we lived (both in the mountains), so was handy having a car that could actually go up a hill with snow on the road, my GTS-t with mechanical diff, chassis scraping low suspension, drifted on summer tyres and a 700hp turbo wasnt exactly a match made in heaven for snowy roads lol
