Hey Dan, i basically had the same problem (distance, rented apartment, low signal) and didnt knew anything about this power-line networking. I didnt experienced any disadvantages in my daily internet life which it. In fact my connection was better as with my wireless adapter. As i had some issues before. If i would have known of this before, i would have used that in my old apartment as well instead of having a looooooooooooooong cable in the whole apartment
i'm running these
6-7 years of running, not regulary, a kind of light body structure. Ilost 10 kg since the beginning, coming from 90kg. I dont drink nor smoke. Meh...i have a boring life ... When i started go running, my times over 5km were quite the same as yours
Well i just came home. Its about 19min 30secs . This year but it was a bit different "track" a little longer then last year is my guess. It felt good it was a bit cold 7°C, cloudy and high humidity.
I started a bit to fast and at about 2 km i started to get slower and slower and the first women have overtaken me.
Well short before the stadium i thought we will run straight into the finish. So i started to get faster and sprint, just to realise that we are doing , instead of the last years in the other stadium, another lap on the banking of the cycling track. That totally broke me
Well never start to fast
But all in all it was a good morning workout ... i am motivated to do some runs this year
I am about to start to my first official run (5km) since 1 year ago . It starts at 10:00 cet ... i am a bit nervous as i dont know where i am standing ...last year i did a 19min01s ...i feel better this year but dont think i can reach that time ... i am happy when i get under 20:00
They definately have some problems in cycling atm. Not only the doping problem also the whole structure and the fight between ASO and UCI.
The problem in germany is even worse where most of the bigger races get cancelled or are about to get cancelled. For example the "Lotto-Tour" (Niedersachsenrundfahrt) which used to finish in my town and was really popular got cancelled . Cyclist like Alessandro Petacchi used to cycle here...now they are riding in turkey :/
I hope in the future they are trying to control and punish harder as they do now, even though cyclist get controlled way more often then 99% of other pro athletes.
well sounds good, depends on the place and the people who are coming (already see some nice guys interested ). But there are a lot of "depends" and "ifs" on my side yet. Saturday in july sounds good though
I have to fill the tank a bit more then 1 time for the way to nurburgring and back (same for Karslruhe or Mannheim), that would be affordable if there are others from my region who'd go there, i'll have to propose that to my team.
Anyone is a cycling fan an is watching cycling on the internet at cycling.tv or other sources?
I am huge fan of cycling and watching almost every race as time commitments let me do.
Todays race in the "hell of the north" Paris-Roubaix was great. Boonen was the clever one only taking much much shorter relays (about 1/2 or 1/3) as Ballan and Cancellara. And everyone knew when they come to the velodrome he'd be the winner.
I really enjoy the commentating by Anthony and Brian or Martin when both are unavailable, much better then those of german television or eurosport. They really know how to commentate such a thing.
This thread is to find the cycling fans in the lfs-community and maybe point to cycling.tv if they didnt already know.
Maybe have some chat about the actual races here.
Yeah checked out that site run.
Be prepared for nipple accidents ...especially when you get hot for the run .
I hate tempo runs too... ...but if you want to build uo your ground speed its the best way to go
...and more important get yourself in the right agressive mood.
That might be a stupid question. What is that thingy on the right side above your helmet which your car has but the other not? Could be a camera, or...well dont know...
Congratulations for the win.
If you are already doing 6,7,8 mile long runs, arent that actually 10k...
i find it usually much easier to do 10k in an "event" then in training. The motivation is higher
Just came home from my training run for a spring run in my town on april 20th, but just 5k ...need to defend my 28th place.
Some time ago the LFS-drivers Matze78 and Mühlviadla applied for a position within FPR and are now trial members of the team for indefinitely time. We are glad to see such interest in our team and wish both drivers good luck on their way into the team. Matze78 who is driving in the Gentlefoot Formula Challenge has the chance to step into the chase for the title, his new team mate FPR|Tob is holding after season I. Also Mühlviadla fits into our team-profil as he is strengthening our OWRL line-up. We are looking forward to race with him in Division B and the OWRL F1 league this season. He still has the chance in Division B to catch the title from his new team-mate FPR|Chris who has won Season 10.
On the downside we'd like to tell you some bad news. After a long-time engagement with our team FPR|Paddi left the team due to internal differences about the future orientation of the team. At this place we would like to thank him for all the things he has done for FPR on the track and for the team-life, in driving, set-up, attracting new members and graphic site. He was always an active part of the team.
We wish him all the best for his future in LFS and his real-life!!

Another major problem imo is made by the LFS-Community itself and is not down to not enough content.
The variety of leagues, teams, servers, cruising servers, driftign servers is increasing more and more, while the active player base stays more or less the same. That cant work if most of us like racing with others instead of racing/cruising on our own!
Ok everyone wants to have his own prestigous project, server or league. But does it really bring the community forward if we have dozens or hundreds of empty or tiny populated leagues and servers!?
This is directed to all league admins and server owners. Bundling of power on less projects instead of big variety can be sometimes better.
