I raced the XFR first of all. you get some sick close racing and the cars arent rediculously hard to control, and gets you used to watching tyre wear and not long till you are hitting the same lines but trying to squeeze time out of it.

edit: oh and the XFR was pretty easy to skin so i made a skin and then didnt want to race anything but the XFR

this risk of a faulty wheel is also very real, i just phoned PC world up and found a shop with stock and went straight there and swapped it in a few hours and had some pizza hut all you can eat deal too dont get that on the web.

i dont think its the same kind of risk, not just stealing your card details. i mean, when you go into a shop, atleast you know that shop exists and you wont get your card out unless you are going to walk out with what you purchased in your hand. but there is more external risks to shopping like that which are not necissarily the companies fault such as crime or bad employees. they both have risk, so be careful with both. sounds like a good idea to me.

i prefer the LX's without the roof, but i like the UF1000 with the roof on it

in real life those cars have a cover over the seats anyway dont they so it might need that in LFS? would the passengers interfere with that

does the front wing of the F08 change downforce when its damaged, i guess by what you just said it isnt? it would be nice if it did. but could it be exploited?

i can understand the paranoia about buying online, its better to be safe than sorry. theres some pretty bad rumors going about with bogus companies and stuff. buying online is cheap, and its easy compared to hunting round the shops, but there is an element of risk there.

part of me misses my old CRT but part of me doesnt. yeah its a bit like that.

the side shifter has a characteristic about it, where it tends to skip a gear going up or down, ive had this on 2 wheels, I dont think its a fault or manufacturing error just the design. it can be a pain to skip up to 5th gear from 3rd sometimes, i have been thinking or swapping the gears to the paddle but sticking with that shifter still for now.

that viewer is an essential tool though

just wish i could keep remembering to turn off wire frames before i reload

yeah but the pop up box still shows during other games, its probably a glitch but it used to let me know if someone logged on or sent a message still. then i would Alt Tab and speak to them.

I will try turning off the auto busy thing and see if it has any effect.

me and a friend went down PC world and gave them a print out of ebuyer and other places price lists and they price matched it for us. 60 quid each from 99. Well worth the paper and ink and 5 minutes googling. One of the DFP was faulty, so I rang up and found out my nearest store with stock, drove there, exchanged it, and all lived happy ever after. the end.

who usually decides who is at fault in real racing? its like a body of people i cant remember the name of though theres probably lots of them for each type of racing, usually you get some drivers fighting or arguing after an incident but i dont think they decide who was at fault do they? i would think that both drivers would have their own views on what happened and only a lot of people who have no bias can really decide those things. and are some just said to be a racing incident and noone is actually "to blame"?

or maybe i just watched too much touring cars

firstly, does running in windowed mode reduce FPS? I almost always run my games in full screen because of this. I also like to have the graphics go up to the edge of my monitor to get rid of the border. but...

i like to use MSN Messenger but I find when I have LFS in full screen mode I cant hear or see any messages.

is there a way to force LFS to allow background to show through, so when I see someone log on and the window on the task bar (above the clock) pops up, itll appear in the game for a split second?

Then i will know if someone has logged on, or sent me a message and i can shift F4...

Stupid request i know but my friends think im ignoring them when im playing.

DRT isnt that clear of this stuff either, my mate got banned off there so we set up our own server only to find a DRT guy come on our server and ask players to join their server. That was kinda funny, i didnt say anything though, well i have now

there needs to be some way to mark the server where an admin picks the start grid because im not sure that would go so well on public servers where admins tend to do what they personally want not what everyone wants. Something in the server list.
