If its LFS youre having trouble with its most likely the CPU being a bottleneck. Pentium 4's were long in the tooth in '07, so 5 years later you can probably get the idea of how good they are compared to modern stuff.

Right, those mods didnt work, just crashes on the intro, and now it wont allow me to delete the files and just sets the folder to read only all the time!

EDIT: got rid of that and done a fresh install. But crashes on loading screen if I add that Stage 1 file. OR add any vehicles or parts for that matter!

Cheers! Do you guys use the SLR editor to adjust engine locations and engine/car combo limits as well? Was tweaking that a lot with 2.3.0

Are you guys using NWM or 2.3.0 LE? And where are you getting your mods? Havent played this in ages but fancy getting back into it!

Probably best that way! Had trouble re-sizing it, photobucket seems to decide what it wants to do with my photos.

Just seen race 3 from barbagallo. Great ending! Definately one of the best set of final laps. Loved the radio at the end... "pass them both or take them out"

Quote from Vain : And I'm still not sure why the forged piston is the only type of piston that affects knocking.

Vain

Have you mentioned this one to the devs on automation? Seems an odd one.

Quote from Matrixi :Been on the fence of pre-ordering this for some while now, as I thought the price was a bit steep. But I did it anyway now, can't wait to see what the future brings.

Edit: One thing is bothering the hell out of me now that I've messed around with the demo for a while, the tiny un-scalable subwindow is REALLY annoying at 2560x1600: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15957408/stanaktomaatti.jpg

this has been mentioned (Though its probably by you if I look back on the automation forum!) and is being looked at I believe.

Progress is very good at the moment, and it is 99% user feedback for new additions etc to the game, the devs are very good with sharing the development! Been playing it a few months now and its come on leaps and bounds.

Some of them are quite hard........But they've got to keep you occupied somehow Lots of testing went into getting them right.

Nice to see a few people follow this. Been enjoying the racing this year, nice to see Team Vodafone struggling a little to make a nice change!

Quote from BigPeBe :Some people go as far as build their exhaust systems and try different combos in dyno. But if you use any common sense you can't go that badly wrong. Every engine is unique (especially if you build your own one instead of using stock engines) so everyone of them has their own "perfect" exhaust size. Also the exhaust size depends on what RPM area you want it to be optimized. General rule is that bigger exhaust works better on higher RPMs.

I'm referring to a simple chart I found over the net a while ago:
170 - 240 hp = 2.25" - 2.5"
240 - 350 hp = 2.5" - 3.0"
350 - 500 hp = 3.0" - 3.5" or 2x2.5".
Don't take these numbers as a fact of the perfect exhaust size for your engine, but if you follow them it's probable that you will be able to avoid the worst over exaggerations.

I myself already know that I'm going to the 3" route for my next engine. But all I know about it that I won't be making a huge mistake and it should be ok for the spec I'm going.

Rpm ranges are more about Primary lengths on the manifold I thought? IE longer primarys = higher powerband, shorter primarys and longer secondarys = low power band/a bit less power but longer curve.
But yeah, the exahust dimensions seem about right, 1.75" primaries on a pinto are ok up to 200bhp!

Quote from logitekg25 :got my full license today, and this is how it went:

passed: yay cant wait to drive my car all day.

battery dead from last night working with the interior lights on, no big deal il throw a charger on it, or jump it and the alternator will do work. charger on: clicks. jump start: clicks. push start: nothing electrical working at all; factory reset later, still just clicks, but electrical stuff working.

charge it for a while, and it starts again; no big deal, just adds to it.

2 miles up the street the warning light in my dash shows up that there is a failure in my brake light circuit somewhere. i pull over, and nothing looks wrong.

head home, and realize that the brake lights are constantly on; how bizarre. after a bunch of tinkering, i finally figure it is the switch/sensor at the pedal end. (part number 61-31-6-967-601)

waiting for it to arrive.

any thoughts?

Starter could be a dodgy starter solenoid, as klutch said, wack it with a hammer and see if that loosens it off. though low battery voltage would also mean there wasnt enough charge to move the solenoid which would alos give the click.

As far as I knew all transits were RWD.

EDIT: seems the latest model has 3 FWD, 4 RWD and one AWD model.

Dead Men Racing currently have XRT at BLGP running, usually people about in the evening. Uses FCV which I think might put some off though. But I've managed and I always normally use chase view. Nice clean races too.
