Ouch. Well, I don't see a lot of Hummers anymore (except for the H3). People still drive as fast as they did before or faster and they even leave their cars on to warm up (my neighbor who drives a Lexus IS 350 leaves her car on for 45 minutes - 2.5 hours when she stops by her home to do something). I might do my dad a favor and get rid of the 3rd row of seats off the Caravan because he doesn't need them. His driving is crap anyways so I know it will help. Hell, the only cars we have in our family are two vans.
As for gas prices, some are just taking advantage of the customers. The Arco gas station near a Mobil station closed a while ago so the owner of the Mobil gas station is making people pay a pretty steep price because that is the only gas station near a freeway entrance. Elsewhere, it is lower because they're trying to compete.
We should have gotten a Honda Fit...
Yup. By the gallon. And a whole bunch of people are moaning about it. I don't remember how much it costs for you guys but it is higher than ours by a quite a lot.
Well it's not the motorsport that people just hate...
It's the people in it too. And it just so happens to be that some of the newcomers that go to drifting take it as a free-for-all and don't really care about its etiquette. In contrast, the newcomers to racing do have some courtesy and obey some of the basic rules.
He's refering to the rev limiter in the Misc. forum. I think he wants it built in to LFS so that he can turn it off and on whenever he pleases and so that it doesn't interfere with other apps?
Tried the cross-eyed technique...
I have it to the point where there is 3 images but they're all blurry. Now I have an eyesore.
It's interesting but I can't seem to do it too well.
Edit: Nevermind. When I cross my eyes I tend to focus on something very close to my face so all I had to do is look very closely at the image. I can't hold it for long but it is striking. It also gives me a bigger eyesore so now I have to rest.
I'm pretty sure if Hamilton gets a chance to come back to Top Gear on a dry day, he would get a similar time, considering that he got a (1.44.70) on an oily wet track.
When you try to run a hotlap from your work place to home or around the block, upload your "replay" to youtube and someone replies "Hotlap Invalid (pedestrian)"
When you see someone cut you off or do some reckless driving, you (try to) reach for one of your macros that says "POLICE! PULL OVER"
You stop at a gas station and try to press an F12 key to get the amount of fuel you want on your car.
You want to look from the rear but instead attempt to reach for the rear view button.
You get lazy and try to reach a paddle shifter to shift up a gear in your car only realizing that your car is a stickshift.
You keep pulling down on your shifter because you own a DFP, MOMO, or use the G25 with a sequential.
Instead of pressing the horn button on your g25, you press cruise control on your car.
When you see cracked or abused asphalt on the real road, you begin browsing LFS Database for a new road texture.
When you want to change your tyre tread or brand name on your own car, you go to LFS Database for a new one.
If you are a speedhacker, you pull on your handbrake in hopes of speeding past cars (and end up crashing).
When you explained to the cops what happened in the crash, you blame lag, unpredictable wind, or hot tyres.
You are uncontrollably afraid of red and blue barriers.
The first thing you do when you get a Mini is sumo.
The first thing you do when you get to drive a racing Mini is to flip it.
When traffic seems to stop and go, you wish for a computer upgrade.
When you flip your car, you shift it to 5th or 6th gear and when the police arrive you say, "Hey look! 999 mph!!"
Your car isn't a hybrid but you wish that it would auto-shutoff like the LFS cars.
You're pissed off everyday because you're "cruising" from place to place (and so is everyone around you).
You're pissed off because the government banned you from "cruising their server".
You exit your garage and it's too bright outside so you try to turn off the "bloom".
You're drunk and you get pulled over by the cops. You tell them that it was too hard to drive because you set the motion blur too high.
You have a ps3, 4 xbox 360s, a huuuuge DLP screen with a sound system, a badassed cockpit, 3 monitors, an awesome computer, and now a top of the line Nvidia card?
User Account Control is probably the most annoying feature on there but you can just as easily turn it off. After disabling a few services here and there and some start-up programs, I got it to run pretty quickly. It's pretty annoying how much RAM vista sucks up but disabling services will ease the pain. Other than that, it's like XP with some graphic changes and a few new things.
Depends on your budget. If I were you, I'd spend some on good pc parts (not a whole pc unless yours is outdated), then if there is some money left over, buy a Driving Force Pro or Driving Force GT. If you love PC games and other computer stuff, then that's for you. But the Xbox will not dissapoint (except for the fact that it can't use the good Logitech wheels) and I'm sure you will be addicted if you get one. Hell, I can't stop going to my friend's house to play Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.
Yes, the cars use the same interior, however, the difference is the roll cage and I'm assuming that is what you want. Unfortunately, you cannot add the roll cage to the XRT or XRG. It's the same reason why we cannot add body kits (who needs them...) splitters, and wings to road cars.
So it doesn't come with a cake?
Anyways, how much fps do you get on your 1080p DLP and what are your pc specs? I've been wondering a bit because I'm thinking it will take a lot to run at that high of a resolution.
I'm pretty sure there have been tweak servers before so I guess its ok. I believe the biggest problem with it is that you need to have the same tweak setup as the other person otherwise it doesn't work for some reason.
I'm pretty sure LFS was meant for racing when the developers created it. It's just that some of us found a way to do other things besides racing such as cruise, and UF1 Sumo (boy do I miss that).
Wait, which tweak allows you to tweak fz5's anyways?
Yes, you should upgrade ram, especially if you have Vista. I have 3GB of it and Vista already uses 613.8 MB of it, and that was with some disabled services and startup items.
It says your machine uses DDR SDRAM and if you are upgrading to DDR2 SDRAM, then you should just replace the DDR SDRAM with it since DDR2 SDRAM is faster than DDR SDRAM. I'm thinking they are compatible to each other but you could be held back by the DDR SDRAM's speed.
Anyways, when people get out earlier, it just means they will come back in sooner. I wouldn't be able to play as much because I have summer school, community service, and I'm going to work for my dad and get some money.
Yep, I have finals on monday, tuesday, and wednesday and no school after that. Now I'm hectic because I can't seem to find a way to get the area of a non-right triangle on a damned coordinate plane! :irked::hbomb:
If your tires are hot, don't get off the throttle. That will increase your angle and cause you to slide to the outside. If you let off the throttle while the car is starting to swing around, it will get more angle and can cause you to spin. If you can actually do a drift but can't hold it, feather the throttle. Gas it a little more if you want some grip and want to go farther inside the corner but don't use so much your car eats tires or becomes too slippery and starts to spin. If you need to let off the throttle, do it smoothly so the weight doesn't get off the rears as quickly. If you need to go to the outside of a corner, let off the throttle but you may need to steer the car inward again with the throttle again to keep the drift going or use the e-brake at the same time you let off the throttle.
If you can't start a drift without spinning, leave the throttle on and force the car to slide with a feint. If you need to slow down, do so before the drift, apply some throttle and turn. If you can't use any power because you have to slow down a lot, don't steer in too violently and try to get some weight to transition to the back as soon as possible by using throttle. If you have to ride the brakes, get off of them once your car starts to drift or steer in less with the brakes on, then get back on them just a little bit. If your car can break traction very easily just by power (examples such as RAC, LX6), you can do everything above but with more delicacy to the throttle. Front-engined cars are easy to drift and more gas gives them more rear traction to hold on. Less power causes them to move outside slightly and spin around if you have a lot of front-end grip. Rear engined cars (they're all powerful anyways) need enough power to keep them sliding and from drifting too far outside. Too little throttle causes them to drift very far to the outside and could spin them out if you cause the car to transition the weight to the front violently. If you use the "right" level of gas, the car will have enough power to send to the rears to regain traction but not enough to spin (which isn't exactly a good thing).
If you're more comfortable to using more violent weight transitions, you have to be very precise and quick with your steering to keep the car on track and to upset it for more violent weight transitions. The same goes for the throttle and brake. If you like it smoother, you must keep everything smooth as well. From the start to the end of the drift, you must stick to one of these two styles because if you upset the balance while drifting smoothly, chances are that you will spin or leave the track because you don't expect it. If you baby the car while upsetting its balance, it could regain traction and snap in the wrong direction because you don't expect it.
Also, ask for setups and try to adapt to them if you do not know how to set a car up to work the way you want it to.
