I only have the DK2, but it really was as easy as plug'n'play.

Make sure your Rift is plugged in properly, Start LFS, go to Options/view, select 3D, select Oculus VR, sit comfortably in your driving position and click the first option (can't remember what it says off the top of my head - use tracking, something, something...). You're in. Go play.

As far as VR experiences go, there's not many that beat LFS for instant gratification.

Enjoy Smile

Quote from ScaryWitch :
The sound of crying over the music from the world's tiniest violin.

Everything that came at you was probably a direct result of your own misunderstandings, as you have clearly demonstrated that you have no knowledge of the actual forum rules. You should probably read them before lecturing anyone here.

When you say "U can't go lower" - do you mean lower than creating a fake account just for the purposes of flaming? FYI, that's called 'hypocrisy'.

I meant to say, before I got distracted by other things: Huzzah! Congrats! This is a great outcome.

I was intrigued by BR Cruise's incredibly detailed insim, but was afraid that if I wanted to experience it I'd need to venture into the dark underbelly of cyber-criminality [/kidding]. But seriously, very keen to have a look Smile

taipalsaari: You seem to not want to be disproven. There are several parallels to bad science that I can see here:

You refuse to provide any other evidence other than that which supports your claim.
If you seriously wanted 'peer-review', you would provide spr replay files so that others could see your actual telemetry.

You personally attack people who tell you that you don't know what you are doing.
If your argument had any validity, you wouldn't need to discredit others.

When you have been given a definitive answer, you try to find loopholes, even when there aren't any.
The "you haven't provided me with enough details" argument is invalid when your question is generalised and basic in nature.

You have been given a simple answer to your simple question: Have there been any changes to the physics? Answer: No. Full stop. That's it. No further discussion needed.

If I were you, I'd simply admit that there was a possibility that I was simply having an off-day or I was a bit tired, and move on to let this thread die quietly.

As it stands, you have thoroughly embarrassed yourself, and there is a good chance that nothing you have to say on this forum will ever be taken seriously again.

It's not that vob-mods are "illegal" in any way - the devs just don't want to have to deal with them (or any other type of unofficial mod, for that matter) if they don't work as expected, as stated:
Quote from LFS Forum Rules of Conduct :"...we do not support mods and do not have the time to deal with them."

The point to take away from this is; use mods at your own risk.

I've never seen a mountain drift, so just for curiosity's sake this could be fun Smile

Everyone else: There's no rule against demo players suggesting content, and nobody can say what Eric is or isn't considering for the future. A touge could very well be on the cards and you would never know it.

There is a rule - 1.1 When I post a message on this forum, I will do my very best to write in a polite manner - in other words, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.

Make sure you have the latest version - 0.6R. Older versions are no longer supported due to a complete overhaul of the Blackwood circuit.

Quote from PeterN :"x (un)blocked messages" is an indicator, no?

As Johneysvk said, it can get lost in chat very easily - especially mid-race when you are concentrating. While in VR, it can be difficult to keep track of chat, as it can feel even further out of your field of view, thanks to the lens-blur toward the edges of your vision. If I'm locked into a good battle, I may not pay any attention to the chat at all for several minutes...

Cargame: thanks for the info Smile

Taipalsaari: You have been given several answers to your question, which all agree that you are mistaken in your initial assumption. Even Scawen personally replied to give a definitive answer. Disregarding answers that you don't agree with won't ever make you correct.

We have an expression, here in New Zealand, that I think perfectly illustrates this:

nah, yeah nah.

technically, you can - but we're not supposed to talk about it because then we'll have to kill you.

I do like this idea of an indicator to show when someone is blocking messages - +1 - but in addition, it would be good to give admins the ability to override the block in order to tell the driver when they are doing something wrong. The only option right now is to kick them without explanation, which could potentially open a whole new can of worms...

I've never tried before, but if anyone can tell me; does the message block function also include pm's?

Quote from UnknownMaster21 :Hmm, I wonder if Autocross would be the one if getting updated in some point. Probably

I've often thought it weird that you couldn't drive from the carpark to the skidpad and through to the dragstrips - it seemed, to me at least, like getting rid of all those pesky gates would be the most obvious thing...

Quote from Fowraw :Yes I know that the demo is just for testing the game but for people that do play demo there's only one track which layouts cannot be edited(not trying to be greedy with how many tracks demo has or something). Its just my opinion to give people in demo to have more fun!

This thread is another example of an improvement suggestion that is not actually an improvement suggestion - you are suggesting that a large part of what makes LFS worth paying for should be provided to you for free.

It doesn't matter how compelling you think your argument is (it isn't), or how beneficial it would be to the community (it won't), it's simply never going to happen. End of Story.

Quote from taipalsaari :Could we possibly learn if there has been tyre changes at all because the quote doesn't say much

As Scawen said, he only took a few lines from the new physics code to implement the larger steering angle. No changes have yet been made to the tyres or suspension that would affect grip in the way you believe.

The only difference I see in your replays is that you let the revs drop off more in the N version than you do in the R version, which would allow more steering control.

There's no rule regarding bumping old threads on this specific forum, but in general forum etiquette across the internet it is regarded as bad form, as are one word posts that do nothing to add to the discussion. It's seen as spamming for the purpose of stat-farming.

Quote from Fowraw :Hey so a lot of people are playing LFS demo and the major issue is that we cannot edit layouts in it. Yeah I know that devs do live from earning money by LFS but its kinda stupid that devs don't care about people that don't buy the game. If this was a thing it would be amazing. So please add this!

'Supply and demand' is the first lesson in sales and marketing.
  • Create demand by withholding supply.
  • Charge for supply.
  • Make money.
The reason they don't give away the layout ability for free is that it is so good, people are willing to pay for it.

Don't equate 'caring' with 'giving you stuff'. It will only lead to disappointment when you find yourself out in the real world.

Quote from niller :It could also be the increased steering lock, that makes the car feel a little bit different to the previous version Wink

If you check the max steering angle in your setup, and if you were already using maximum lock, you'll find that it is still set to the old maximum. You would need to increase it manually for there to be any difference.

In other words; your setups should not have not been affected by the increased steering range.
