Thanks. I can run close to these graphics while racing, but not quite.
They made it so you can have different graphic settings during replays than when you're racing. These are max.
The main problem I still have with the graphics is that when you get to a big angle or large distance from the car, even on max settings, the texture goes super low res. As soon as you look at it square or get closer its nice and sharp.
You can't rank up from D to C without driving a D level car.
Also, since it doesn't sound like you drive open wheelers much, you will have much more success in the mazda if you start in the skippy. They're totally different, but the techniques definitely carry over.
This car is amazing. Possibly another best sim car ever to come from iracing.
I know its stupid but its fun to drive with the clutch and H shifter. 1st gear feels maybe slightly sluggish on the baseline setup...clutch and grab 2nd gear and you just blast through it.
I almost get the feeling like I'm driving a really high powered street car...and its an awesome feeling.
The release notes look good. I'm most curious about the live axle part...how do you screw up the torque distribution of a locked rear axle...? Or rather, what can you change about it?
Also....THEYRE FIXING THE MAZDA WOOOOOOOOOO
They ruined that car so much with the last big change they did. Used to be one of my favorite cars in the sim, and right now it is near undrivable. Maybe you'll actually be able to catch slides again!?
Also the fuel part is huge. Probably an oversight from beta...like someone quickly implemented the weight of gas and they never went back to actually place it where its supposed to be.
I once drove half a lap at road atlanta with 2 other cars inside mine. It was awesome. We were going rather slowly lol, about half speed.
I ran about 10-20 laps and got down to like a 34.0 I think
32.6 is the pole right? My optimal is like a 33.7. I thought I could easily whittle some time away since almost instantly I was at a 34.0 but I seem to be very stuck :P
It is a fun combo but a little more beans would be nice out of the skippy.
I join up for the start and the first few laps and then either crash on accident or just quit lol. Had a race last night..legends at laguna. I went from 17 to 3rd on the start driving through the gravel and everything haha. I ran up and passed the leader and got bored and spun
I'm the 22 car lol. The 2nd pic is me passing the black car while we both pass the inside car...pretty scary through there 3 wide
That video has 3 different sound sources all mixed together. It can be set up to be very loose as well..don't judge the car totally from the video, although it will like to understeer with its puny front tires and massive weight on the nose.
Phil, you and BBT both make points that I can agree with. I'm actually in a very similar situation. My 2nd year runs out in August or something. I hardly ever race in iracing. I enjoy testing and open practice. I can't even remember the $100 I paid to get access 8 months ago so it really doesn't bother me that much...I quite enjoy having the option of loading up iracing and blasting around some of my favorite tracks. The variety is what I enjoy...some people like new content.
Also, in case no one has noticed, the new cars that have been coming out have been progressively better every time. Sometimes those advances spill over to other cars, sometimes they don't. Eventually the old stuff will get updates. For now, it is all very raceable (on the road side) The oval stuff does seem to be missing on quite a bit of factors.
Ant, you act like you, and everyone else in iracing, is being ripped off. You can't be a victim if you volunteer. You also don't get to fly the plane just because you bought a ticket.
