I noticed during the A-spec races, some amazing and fast cars appear only in your first try. If you exit to change car or something, those cars won't appear again.
It happened to me during two advanced races. In one race two 66 leman cars appeared. They had Ultra fast top speed (my poor italia 458 didn't stand a change). So I quit, upgraded, and the leman cars where gone
Also happened in the tuned car race. My first try had a very very fast turbo s2000 or something. Too quick for me so I exited changed car and he was gone.

I really is. Its even better if you give the car more horsepower and leave the rest stock. The good physics become more evident that way.
Ask my mazda RX7 with ~330hp. Beautiful around nordschleife with mild drifts leaving the corners. It was a big surprise to see the following replays, that in some of those small drifts only one wheel was losing grip (and smoking) while the other ones were not.
This game really tries to be as simulator.

Did you guys noticed how the slow cars on AMG SLS full course challenge manage to appear precicelly on the hardest places to overtake if you are not fast enough for gold?
I think that was very smart. I hard to work extra hard to gain just enough time to pass them in easier places. Finished gold with 7:04,490 with two braking mistakes and one grass trip.

the physics pretty spectacular with some of the cars I tried yesterday. Apparently the tyres you choose can make or break the experience. Its all about the right choice of tyres.
Nordschleife + Mazda RX7 (tuned to 330hp) with hard sports tyres =

- The shadows but its not important.
- Can't rewind replays (or can I?)
- It can be VERY dark.

I felt like some japanese developer pulled down his pants and literally urinated on my face.
What is that? that is no editor. I was already dreaming of corners and layouts and BAM I'm slapped on the face (or urinated).
- The blurriness
prevents me from judging corners at a distance. The cockpit dials are also very, very blurred. Can barely tell the speed looking at them. why...? its in your face. Make it pretty.
- Mixed impressions from the Forcefeedback
The sound makes me believe I am touching the apexes. But no shacking forcefeedback. I have to make more tests.

They vary but are a lot more closer to what the PC has to offer (I come from LFS). But I find it very unrealistic how a car loses grip on all 4 wheels and just keeps skidding at low speeds. A ferrari F40 doesn't keep skidding at 50kph. Jesus... I cannot skid my own car at 50kph and it has bicycle wheels compared to the F40.
- No G25 official support inside the game
- Flying car syndrome (as in not touching the ground). really obvious when going over apexes.
- visible Wheel degrees do not reflect actual steering wheel degrees.
- No option to remove the visible wheel

Stepping the apexes doesn't vibrate as the game sound makes you believe.
Driving the SLS AMG nurburgring chalenge was a mixed experience regarding the Forcefeedback (won gold though.)

Old replays - How to find which patch was used?
Hello
I have many replays dating as far as the release of S2. Many great moments, great overtakes, some fantastic overtakes. I remember some of them but I want to see them. Basically, I'm sensing lfs is kind of dying, and I want to reunite all the great moments and compile them into a movie. That way, some day, I can show to people what LFS was all about in its great days.
The problem is the patch versions used. How can I find which version was used in each?
I suppose the hard way is to install every patch that ever existed and trial and error them.

That is a gray track. Not black. The sun effect looks close but toned up in gt5...
The contrast is just to big in games. the track very black, the reflection very white.

I never seen black asphalt while driving, even videos from youtube i could not find a full black asphalt like that. Many games fail in this respect
asphalt does not look like that unless is wet. Asphalt looks gray in daylight, but they insist in full black with huge sun reflections. Head hurts
did you noticed the light changing at 40seconds ? was that the camera adjusting or was the "sun" starting to shine ? that was amazing.

I know I will spot cheats in the graphics 1 meter away from the tv, but right there that looked almost real sometimes. Really green trees made the difference.

I'm on lfs forums. How else would I play but without a wheel?!
Its very easy to spun the normal car even on 3rd gear slow speed and tight corner.
And when it starts to oversteer you rarely catch it because the scandinavian effect spuns you the other way immediately
