exactly With wear you should lose many more seconds per lap than a hot tire does. Because the sticky rubber is low.
In LFS (its in alpha though), its still all about the heat.
Think about it. The main factor of all (wear) is only relevant to LFS tires because it affects how quickly one loses temperature overtime.
So in 20 or 30 laps you only lose seconds because the tire can't keep the heat and not because of the "wear" per se.
Bottom line is, I don't like to point out faults on an Alpha product while demanding a fix like I'm entitled or something. Fault or no fault, Its bullsh*t attitude.
He's right about the heat though
Last I saw, LFS doesn't mention if the tires are "winter" tires.
The Virginia International Raceway is pretty spectacular... I like it better than lime rock. And it has so many configurations. Two of them are 6.5km long
The biggest difference I could tell from other simulators is the asphalt
condition and how believable it drives over those bumps and imperfections.
(although in replays, you see the car floating a lot)
skip barber + Lime rock is awesome. But I don't really "feel" the radical and
madza. At least not when compared to the experience of barber.
Graphics are spot on. The color composition is very good. Overall is very
very realistic.
Still, I'm not convinced to buy it. If it was a one time purchase, the regular 59€, it would be a done deal
But because although it seems there is many content, 70% of it is for ovals. The other 30% of the game
is not enough to couch a >100€ subscription in which you still have to pay
for additional stuff as it comes out.
For the type of racer I am, there are way too many ovals and very few
"good" regular tracks.
ps: where are European tracks?
I feel this game is made for Texan-Americans-drivers.
Too bad because I like the driving
its my opinion that when simulations reach such a level, very little tells them apart. I'm talking about driving only.
About the rest, some things netkar does better (I feel more immerse in nk, the car bounces really believably) and others lfs still does much better (the entire online component in my opinion).
Graphics wise, nkpro really needs an artist because everything looks way way too dark. Nothing in plain daylight should look that dark and sad. LFS graphics seem simpler but the colors composition is spot on.
Technically the graphics arent "bad", but some artistic choices make them feel like night driving with a blue sky on top. This is because the asphalt is always shiny. Its always on the top of the grey scale (almost white). It overpowers everything. Eveything seems dark because of it.
Can we replace the asphald texture or disable the shader that makes it always shiny?
This game really needs an artist to correct the color composition of the tracks.
