Quote from kingfag :I'll probably get flamed to death for this, but i like the Aptera typ-1
Finally a realistic energy efficient vehicle that doesn't look like is was designed in the 80's.

Agreed. Funny, I was doodling pretty much that exact same design for YEARS in high school, and always wanted to build it myself. It was about the same size, and had the same external wheels with the same sleek covers, and the body was also exactly the same with one wheel in the back. Only difference was a bubble canopy and the rear sloped down not up. It's remarkably similar. I must be a natural at designing streamlined vehicles :P

Anyone who hasn't seen this movie should. And if you haven't you should see it without first looking up anything about it - it will be that much better.

This has to be one of the best movies I've ever seen.

That is all.

My dad finally let me take a quick blast to 100 on the highway in his car the other day. So the fastest I've ever driven a car is now officially 105 mph (169 kph).

Still slow. Felt like nothing in that car. My Subaru at 70 mph feels a lot faster lol. 'Twas a pretty boring experience.

You're not going to be able to replace the graphics card in your laptop.

You should be able to add more memory (it supports 2 gb) but that's not really going to solve any issues. Your problem is most likely the fact that your computer is not a gaming computer by any means. I don't think there is much to do other than try turning down the settings. If that doesn't help (even running at like 640x480 resolution) then it is possible that it may be your connection to the uberweb or that your computer actually has a problem (overheating, for example.) Try cutting the resolution in half and see what that does to the gameplay.

Yeah, I've also got some great ideas for menu systems and car selection and the like (and I'm sure everyone else does too) but that's of course something for S3...

Quote from khoianh94 :I don't think we need a new order. basically people play the demo first, and there is a introduction already - with a FWD, RWD and a formula car. So it's no matter what cars are on top of the order and we also don't know a normal person is looking on which car first. And some beginners will take the driving school, too.

Yeah, but being the neat freak that I am, there are a few cars I would switch - as I already stated - to at least give the menu somewhat better organization. Regardless, the LX cars simply do not belong in the top row IMO.

Quote from the_angry_angel :I'd argue that the order given (the order the AI finishing) isn't the same as the order that a new player should drive them though

Agreed. The LX6 will post identical times as the FZ5 (when I drive anyway) on Blackwood. But I wouldn't quite tell a beginner driver that the two cars are on the same skill level

Well, let me just say that a few months ago I splurged and bought a $200 Asus Xonar Sound card for my computer. Previously I was using the small PCI 1x 7.1 sound card that came with my Crosshair Mobo.

I have never, EVER been happier with a single upgrade in my life. I was skeptical that I would hear a difference, but the sound difference was absolutely incredible. I really can't even begin to describe it. Maybe I noticed it more with my z5300e setup, but it was absolutely amazing. I had just watched Transformers (we use this computer as a media center) and I watched the battle scenes again and it was completely different. Even regular music sounds much better. What this card did was help me discover the new higher-frequency sounds in movies and music. But everything else ALSO sounds a lot... crisper? I absolutely recommend a good sound card to anyone who wants good sound. These speakers are "THX certified..." and I was never that impressed (I've had them for two years.) I finally understand what this sound system is capable of with this card now.

Also, I used to not be able to go above 75% on the speaker controls without hissing (as with any computer speakers usually.) I assumed that was just normal. Not anymore! 100% and absolutely no hissing or background noise at all.

All in all, I have to say, I would never have expected it, but these things make a phenomenal difference.

I see what he's saying... and I kind of agree. I think maybe the LX4/6 should be moved down to the second row and take the place of the RB4 and... the XRT... maybe. But whatever the case, the LX4/6 should be kept together.

Now with video! Unfortunately, I think the video is messed up. It freezes after 10 seconds, and if you skip ahead a bit it continues... but without sound.

Quote from deggis :But I would take Force Dynamics. You can add worth of 50,000€ hi-def and hi-fi gimmick to the platform but it doesn't change the fact that Force Dynamics is way ahead of everything else what comes to how the motion rig itself works.

Yeah, well I was reading the FAQ on the CXC site and they address teh question of having only the seat move. Apparently having everything move that much is nice, but the setup they have supposedly is the best for your money... and it gives a very realistic feel according to "racing drivers" whoever they may be.

Welllllll, not quite but yeah.

The base price for this thing is $20,000... which is actually pretty reasonable considering what you're getting. A computer that runs that setup is worth at LEAST 2-3 grand... and then the screens are worth quite a bit as well... and then the motion-simulating seat... not TOO bad of a price for what's included!

Quote from MAGGOT :The added risk taking negates any improvement in skill, thusly not making you a better driver. Just a stupider one with a little more ability.

That was my point
What brand GFX card do you have?

Yeah. I like how they say on tests "This page is intentionally left blank."

Wouldn't it make more sense to say "This page is SUPPOSED to not have anything of any value written on it" or something like that?

I just don't understand why they have to spend so much money on these studies, when the answer is plainly obvious. I would be the first to say that I am a BIT more confident in my driving skills than I should be, a bit reason for which is me "racing experience" with this game. It just seems like a waste of money to prove what is actually a fairly obvious fact.

I do think I am a better driver as a result. It's just that with that added "experience" comes added risk-taking.

Quote from MonkOnHotTinRoof :I hate LED cases. It attracts mosquitoes and bugs to walk right into fan. Whenever I open the case first I need to vacuum clean all those legs and wings spread all over mobo.

Hmmm... I've got like a bajillion lights in mine... and not a single bug ever. This begs the question: Where the hell do you live, and why the hell don't you close the screens?!? Lol.

Ok. Just checking. Only because I was fooling around with goofy setups on my laptop today and got SEVERAL patches up to 500 degrees on the tire at the same time under locked braking... and nothing happened.
